Dima or some one want to give us a quick run down of how the Russian boards are responding? So far the only thing I heard is about is the foul mouth guy who posted the You-tube video. I have no idea of what the Russian real wargaming community is like and I'm curious about it.

So did the Russian release happen today as scheduled? Maybe M1 tank commander or someone can check the boards there and tell us the response.

Since the English version of this is supposed to follow the Russian release by only a few days they must have developed it almost in parallel. IIRC they did the same for the German vesrion of CMSF. I don't recall if there were any other language releases for CMSF.

I don't think a small company would have any hope of making a profit in the Mainland China market where games are instantly pirated. I heard a interview with a Taiwan based boardgame representative the other day and even board games are pirated within a couple of weeks and sold much cheaper than the licensed copy in the PRC. Steve also mentioned once that Combat Mission is exactly the opposite of what the Japanese market wants. That said, I put my thinking cap on. Aparently Snowball will be doing the Eastfront when the WWII engine matures and I don't see another niche for a Eastern European company but maybe some Spanish developer would be interested in doing the Spanish Civil War. Wild speculation over.

I don't think this has been discussed before. Correct me if I'm wrong, but since we are getting German Wiesels this must mean we are getting Bundeswehr Airborne aka Fallschirmjaeger battalions along with Panzer and Panzergrenadier units. I wonder if we'll be getting other extra formations for the two other countries besides the line units.

I'm sure Canada will return and France will go back to Limbo. It's almost a new Moon and Moon loses most of his powers when that happens.

Not that I want to be in Emrys Sig, but he is right in that in an old post Steve said we won't be seeing SS or FJ in the initial release. Last word we had is SS will come out with the Commonwealth and FJ may wait for the second (Market-Garden) module. I do believe we'll get US paratroopers with the initial release though. As I recall the TO&E of US Airborne changed between Normandy and M-G so we'll eventually have both formations. I don't recall anything about US Rangers or British Commandos for that matter.

Yeah there's not much if you include the armored cars we got in CMAK. Maybe a uniquely British truck and the Tetrarch though I can see the later being left to the 3rd "catch-all" module if at all since, what maybe 20 saw action. A Sherman flail would be interesting but so far Battlefront has not wanted to include engineering vehicles.
