  1. Just wondering if any of you out there got NATO and skipped the Marines and/or the Brits or some other combination like that and why. I can see non-Americans skipping the Marines as the most likely scenario but then you don't get the T-90 and BMP-3 either.
  2. Okay thanks. What I was wondering about was if there was any way to simulate the rear guard German sharpshooters in a team that wasn't a sniper team but I guess a sniper team with below average experience would do it
  3. What I mean is if you have a sharpshooter in your squad, I assume you wouldn't be able to split him and another guy off into the new two man "scout" section as that's always going to be a smg and rifle right?
  4. So when you split off a two man scout team, I assume it'll always be a smg and rifle and you couldn't split off a two man sharpshooter team right?
  5. These are beautiful. Will they work in CM:Afghanistan too?
  6. Is that for both US and German squads? I assume that was part of the normal TO&E.
  7. This post in the German DAR has me wondering if we're getting both specially trained sniper teams as in CMSF AND sharpshooters as in CMX1. Thanks
  8. I think Charles did the Air strategy game Over the Reich or do I remember wrong? Too lazy to google.
  9. Just to be clear, in my thinking you would still lose points for surrendering. Just not as many as WIA/KIA. High Ranking officers may be an exception.
  10. A Battlefront game is never early or late. It is released precisely when Charles the Wizard intends it to be.
  11. But seriously folks..... No, once they surrender they become like any other prisoner in the game and (I assume) you can't shoot them.
  12. Reading the DAR/AAR I got to thinking about a possible option that we didn't have in CMX1. In CMSF except for one side totally surrendering to end the scenario there were no prisoners so this is a new feature for CMX2. I am making a big assumption that taking prisoners nets one more points than causing casualties and as I recall that's how it was in CMX1. Like wise having your men surrender loses you more points. What if it were reversed however? And what if there was an option so that you could self surrender one of your units? Naturally you would only do this in a hopeless case but wouldn't this be a reflection of the actual event? Wouldn't it make sense to surrender your troops in a hopeless position rather than lose more points to have them killed or wounded. I'm sure I haven't thought through all the repercussions of having this as an option in addition to having guys surrendering as coded now. That's why I'm asking you guys.
  13. I seem to recall that Lugers were not the most common German pistol. Can someone confirm or deny that?
  14. Germany banning Nazi symbols from commercial products other than history books does not mean ignoring history, but quite the opposite.
  15. Just out of curiosity, the retail vesion of CMBO had some funky name for the SS that I can't remember off hand. It's not illegal in Germany to use the SS name in a game is it?
  16. I wonder if they were going for a look that most people would expect to see rather than one that would impress uniform grogs.
  17. I think this is a good time to repost this article from another thread:
  18. Cool video. Makes me wonder how it got in the lake in the first place and up side down too.
  19. All told in this thread: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=93434&highlight=decals
  20. And I was one of them. I thought mopping up the Syrians would'nt be much fun. That's why I feel should Battlefront ever do a Pacific game (around 2018 or so ) I think people will be surprised with what they can come up with.
  21. Yeah wood fences look better but has it been established that we even get regular farm barbed wire fences as opposed to military grade? And do we get stinging nettle? It's not Europe unless we get stinging nettle that if your troops dive into they jump up and start itching!
  22. That's great news Steve. I'm sure you understand this is THE campaign for many gamers and it may be another ten years till it gets done again. We want it to have all the goodies we can get to go with it. For that reason even though I really came to enjoy CMSF I prefer WWII and I'm glad you didn't do Normandy first as Normandy will now have so many new features. I hope that makes sense
  23. I wonder which of these major features will be their top priority: 1. Flame Throwers. 2. Infantry riding on tanks. 3. On screen Air to Ground interaction. Or is it something else entirely?
