  1. One thing the CMX2 engine will be able to simulate better than the CMX1 did is the lack of radios in each tank such as the Soviets and the 1940 French had. Sure it won't be as much of a handicap as in reality but with no Borg spotting and the much better command system in CMX2 there will be a much better representation of this situation.
  2. I had no idea that's where she was. Thanks. They should dock her next to the Hornet and make her part of the museum.
  3. I think a campaign based on the 82nd culminating on the seizure of the Nijmegen Bridge would be awesome. You would probably need assualt boats to satisfy everyone however. I know you said you wouldn't do assualt boats again but maybe if this were to be the case you would change your minds.
  4. Okay, what I meant was the organization of tank bns in the 2nd and 3rd armored with the "heavy" organization was different than tank bns in other armored divisions. I'm guessing Battlefront doesn't want to have to include all these special types of bns especially the myriad of German ones in thier unit selection menu, but one can form them by taking elements of different units. Of course command would then be an issue. I would be interested in hearing Battlefront's take on this.
  5. All this again makes me wonder how they're going to handle the Market-Garden Module if one does not have the Commonwealth Module. No Brits or SS in Market-Garden? How would that be? It almost makes the Commonwelth module a must buy, though I suppose one could be content with the actions of the 82nd and 101st along with the possibility of gaming Patton's Loraine campaign.
  6. What I was getting to is I was wondering how much of these special TO&Es in neccessary and practical and will we be seeing any in the game such as US Heavy Tank BN or will they be simulated by making ad hoc extractions from regular TO&Es?
  7. Okay, well that makes it easier on Steve since no one will demand a differently organized US tank battallion. I think he will have enough problems sorting out TO&E for the next two modules.
  8. Do you know if the battallions they did have were organized the same as other armored divisions?
  9. Below is a list which Kwazydog posted in another thread. The only Flakpanzer listed is the Flkpz 38. Thank you for asking this question as it gives me ANOTHER OPPURTUNITY TO LOBBY FOR THE INCLUSION OF THE FLKPZ 38 in the 3rd "Battlepack" Module. In even another thread Steve said they did not want to include Flak guns until the code was in to have on screen anti-aircraft fire. It's something that's high on their list but it didn't make the original release. Panzers Available in Normandy (1st June) Pz-IV - 680 Panther - 304 Stug - 243 Tiger - 68 H-35 Assault gun - 67 Lorraine Assault gun - 48 (105mm and 75mm AT versions) Jpz-IV - 40 (should be 60 in total, 20 missing?) Somuas S-35 - 26 Tiger II - 24 Sdkfz 7/1 - 23 Pz-III - 18 JagdPanther - 12 Flakpanzer 38t - 12 Sdkfz 10/4 - 15 Befehlspanzer III - 6 Renault B-1 - 5
  10. I recall the 1st and 2nd US Armored Division and maybe the 3rd too had a different "Heavy" organization then later Armored Divisions. Did this difference extend down to the battallion level or did they simply have more tank battalions?
  11. Steve has said adding new forces takes much more than simply new graphics for the uniform, at least if you want to do it right. The TO&E has to be researched down to the individual man for multiple battalion types for each new force for example. I don't think any one would have wanted the game postponed for more content at this point. I think I remember Steve saying we'll get the FJs along with the SS in the Commonwealth module. In the Arhem module the TO&E for many unit types will change for Sept '44.
  12. My one worry about Battlefront's current business plan is that CMBN will be such a big hit they'll retire afterwards to drive weasels around the Maine woods.
  13. Just to clarify for those of you whom Meatetr's smiley is not enough: What Steve actually said was "We must of been smoking crack when we decided to give you all the stuff we put into CMBB for the price of one game!"
  14. I am quite grateful but then I would be grateful if I got to make wargames for a living too. I know they love it and it's not about the money though I hope CMBN will become quite lucarative for them. I think the only bad part of the job is dealing with us here on the forums, though I'm sure the long hours when they were rushing to meet the CMSF contractual release date probably sucked too. Not that they probably don't regularly put in long hours but that must have been extra suckage.
  15. The uniforms look fantastic. I was expecting to see a potato masher or two stuck in a belt. I didn't notice any. Anyone else?
  16. No. Troops and gliders don't drop into a tactical situations to which some one will reply Pegasus Bridge and the Poles at Arnhem to which some one will reply they don't include features for one time situations.
  17. I wonder if we'll get one off models of the Arhem and Nijmegen bridges. Boats would be nice to do the 82nd's crossing at Nijmegen but Steve said no boats so I guess that's out.
  18. The British had a carnival of tank types too including using the Sherman. Let's be thankful for it. It gives us more toys to play with in Combat Mission.
  19. I really did not make this up you all. , though perhaps I'm misunderstanding what Steve meant here and this only refers to what is moddable.
  20. But I assume they exist in the game just like they did for CMSF. It doesn't matter if they have different uniforms or not to me but I thought I read that some where. It would actually support Steve's point that there are as many if not more uniform types in CM:BN than in CM:SF.
  21. I could have sworn I read in the Wehrmacht Uniform thread that Senior German Officers will have different uniforms.
  22. I think it refers to High Ranking Officers having different uniforms.
  23. And just for fun here's a comparison on vehicle numbers between the CMBN and CMSF base games. US CMSF 4 tank variants 14 APC/AFV types 2 light vehicles. Total 20 US CMBN 26 Tank/Tank Destoyer variants 12 APC/AFV types 3 light vehicles/trucks Total 41 Syrians CMAK 13 tank types 6 APC/AFV types 6 light vehicles including technicals and taxi Total 25 Germans CMBN 27 Tank/Tank destroyer/Assualy gun variants 13 APC/AFV types 2 light vehicles/trucks Total 42 That's almost twice as many in CMBN. Makes me wonder if it will be more than $45.
  24. Wow, coming from Vancouver. Next thing you know Dorosh will be there.
