  1. Ah, That wasn't BoB. You made a good point though about photography.
  2. As I read the tea leaves, Battlefront doesn't offer a pre-order on digital only as it sees no advantage to do so. Pre-orders on disks gives them some idea of how many disks to produce. I can understand Battlefront not wanting to do pre-order on digital only in return for a discount as they believe they can sell thier new products without a discount. Discounts are only available in bundles and older products. I think some customers however don't care about a pre-order discount and would like to pre-order in order to beat the crowd and download before the servers are swamped.
  3. Canadians and Polish will be included along with the Brits. For the rest, there is a desire by Battlefront to include them in future "Battlepacks". Battlepacks are like modules but rather than concentrating on a theme, can include whatever Battlefront wishes. Again there is also a desire to include a Battlepack to extend the game to the end of the war but there is NO guarantee if it will occur. I would, however, guess it is way too late to extend the end date of Gustav Line even slightly at this point in the development process.
  4. Really, do you think going to war with Germany AND the Soviet Union would be a good idea? As one Republican politician recently stated "Martyrdom for ideological purity is for suicide bombers"
  5. Sometimes you just have to imagine that what you saw is not really the way it happened but only an approximation of the event.
  6. I recall reading in an old issue of Strategy and Tactics the Germans referred to the Italian AM ration as Old Man (Alter Mann) and the Italians refered to it as Dead Donkey. (A-something Morte) sorry I don't remember the exact word.
  7. Patience, they'll be around. They're busy making games.
  8. I can't wait to see GaJ's reaction when he sees those Abrams cresting the hill.
  9. The word is SS, Free French, Indians, post May '44 vehicles and/or other forces MAY be included in one or more "Battlepacks" some time in the future. The plan is these Battlepacks will contain various odds and ends at Battlefronts discretion. They will be easier to get out than a module and priced according to how much content they contain.
  10. True, but only if you don't count the Stuart tank haunted by its namesake general.
  11. I suppose I should have mentioned they needed to be renamed of course. PS: Hister, when you say the textures have changed, does that mean the 3d models have changed?
  12. Hello all, I was looking into the possibility of using 1.* uniform mods in 2.* and have come to the conclusion it will not work because: 1. You need a matching map layer. 2. The neck area appears different. Do I have this right? Thanks
  13. Is there anything special about the 92nd infantry division?
  14. Well it's obvious where I'm going with this: Will the CMFI Canadians and Brits be in shorts in Sicily?
  15. Just wondering how common British soldiers in short trousers that one sees in photos actually was, and if they wore them in Sicily and the Italian mainland?
  16. Out of curiosity did the FSJ ever have a "tropical" uniform such as the Herman Goering division had?
  17. I clicked on the screens and videos area to the left once I was in the Gustav Line page.
  18. The Fallschirmjaegers are looking really good, as is the Elefant. I liked the series of shots showing the seasons changing, but it was odd to see the one shot of snow on the ground nearby, but not in the mountains.
  19. Hmm, I was just going through the scenario editor, and I can't actually find the Caro Comando M41 and M42, though they were mentioned in the Basegame preview list of vehicles. Did they not make the final cut or am I totally overlooking them in the editor?
  20. 21. I'm sure there's other vehicles like it that CMAK had available in the timeframe. I really doubt the PzJg I and the different types of Pz IIs (except possibly the Lynx) ever fought in Italy, nor did some of the earlier types of Pz IIIs and IVs. I'm confident the research for CMFI etc is better than what CMAK had, if for no other reason than having much less time and area to cover. But more than that, I think Battlefront has accumulated more Grogs in their "stable" of beta testers if I can call it that.

I'm almost certain, however, that some of the early German AFVs mentioned for CMAK never existed in Italy. I also assume Battlefront may not have listed every variation of StuG and Panzer V we will be getting yet. Also it could be there were not enough Brummbars in Italy for there to even be early mid and late variants. As for captured Italian vehicles, I don't have any knowledge.
