Drone was 100s of km from any sort of area with active combat so pretty much everything you said it was doing it was not doing.

Unless your the pilot. Then you have a great vid of yourself smashing 30 million dollars worth of someone else stuff then walking away with a shrug.*
    * Barring any damage to your jet.

I haven't done it for a long time but before CM the best combat simulators were flight simulators and it has been a long time since I have played in one but if I wanted to fly as close as possible to something else in the air the was going much slower than me you would sort of do what the Russian pilot did. They wanted to dump fuel on it so you have to pass close and above it.
You have to see it so you would start at a lower elevation and climb towards it with your aim point being just above it by the distance you wanted to miss. Being slightly off axis also gives yourself more space to miss it.
The fastest way to move yourself in the air jumpy fast wise is to rip back in the stick which means you probably want to be well above your stall speed which may exacerbate the speed difference. You only have two hands so one hand is one the stick and the other dumping fuel at some point so its not on the throttle.

I mentioned this before but casualty ratios are only one metric (and frankly a squishy one).  The question is one of combat power attrition.  So in Feb we saw tallies of RA logistics, C2, engineering etc. This is stuff Russia cannot get back easily, while the UA is being pushed this stuff from the West.  I expect the combat power attrition is still acceptable to the UA, hence why they hold onto Bakhmut.
As to counter-attacks, why waste the effort in Bakhmut, which is now a grinding wasteland and the RA main effort.  The counter attacks should be operational offensives to the east or west.  I mean this is why I don't really buy the political symbolism argument,  the UA is not counter-attacking at Bakhmut because it is simply not worth it, bleeding the RA is.  They are marshalling offensive combat power in the backfield, why waste it on Bakhmut?  Frankly it is what the RA should have been doing as they now have lost time to prepare defensives with all those troops they got killed at Bakhmut (time is an attritional metric as well).

Two days ago city authorities of Kharkiv first time since Day 1 turned on all street lights and lightening of big Ukrainian flag on tall mast. Russian milbloggers issued some angry post in style "In what *** we wasted thosands of missiles if "khokhols" to this time have enough electricity even in Kharkiv? Maybe our strategists wanted only to force Zelenskiy to negotiations, but not to achieve victory, destroying transport infrastructure, stores with weapon etc"
Also some Russian politics today made a statement "This is revenge for Briansk"
Kyiv was struck with two missiles. First "Kinzhal" at 5:45 of morning hit thermal power plant in southern part of the city. Despite this is 11 km from my home the sound of explosion was so loud, that I jumped on my sofa - I thought this was impact nearby. Second missile, probably "Kalibr"  or Kh-101 either hit or was intercepted in western part of city almost simultainously with "Kinzhal" impact. Fragmemts of missile destroyed and damaged several cars, there were three injured.

Basically the point of my post. I do not understand the Russian ability to project their power beyond their borders with ground forces very well but it sort of looks like they have always wanted to since Putin established himself and have pretty much constantly antagonized all their neighbours and others up to their limits of this power. Ukraine is obviously and overextension of their capabilities but hey a scorpion is going do what a scorpion does.

U.S. Politics. I said this in May on this forum, "U.S. politics will have an impact on Ukrainian strategy if the war is not settled by the 2024 election. The state of US politics is such that, whichever position one party takes, the other party stakes out the exact opposite. Regardless how Ukraine polls now with Americans, the two parties will corral their voters into the paddock they're supposed to be in."

American partisan politics has been nothing but Star Bellied Sneetches since 1988.

This one is great. I would expect even your average non-tank person would enjoy it. Pretty much every tank of note. Can't climb on them though.
