  1. nothing went wrong. ya dont know unless you try. i know about the in game trick. basically the older i get, the worse these bifocals are. by stutter i meant the jerkiness as you scroll across the terrain. some scens are worse than others. it seemed more noticable in 1024x768. i dont think changing font size in windows will help the battle/op list in the game. thanks tho.
  2. in the cmbo cmmos pac mod are guns with extentions as juju. so i guess you got credit.
  3. aren't there some of these in juju's pac mod or cmbo mod? bfamily33 did some bayonet guns too. both are still at cmhq.
  4. thats what i mean, if you pick a unit available in both theatres, when you change date/location you will get the north italy version. if you pick heer 41, when displayed on screen say jan 45, they will have late war uniforms. but they should keep their 41 weapons and formations. a little tougher with armor. thats what mods are for. i have green armor and unis on my ew brits for c.b.i. and cmbb greys on my lw heer for nw europe.
  5. nice list, hans looks like i'll be busy. i haven't finished 90% of the scenarios i want to play. you guys are too fast or i am too slow. "flat, bald and boring" half my family or playing desert battles.
  6. not my cup of joe, but interesting use of words. second paragraph. Tin Soldiers - Alexander the Great™, is pioneering many new and exciting features. Favoring the grandeur and hand crafted look of miniature figures we are eschewing the current gaming trend toward ultra realism. Our artists spend their time drawing hundreds of individually adorned soldiers rather then countless hours animating clones of identically clad animations scratching their backsides! Don’t believe me? Check out these tasty morsels or go see more at the Screenshots or Armies links. Our game is turn based (yea, I said it, turn based) but with a twist. We have developed an engine for simultaneous turn based strategy. A player does not take turns with his opponents, instead each opponent plans out their strategy and issues orders to their units simultaneously, then presses a play button and the battle rages as all the units execute their orders for that turn in unison, just like RTS but for the twitch impaired. In addition, our unique "reaction" system enables mid-turn adjustements to strategy. Illustrated in beautiful 3-D views of the battle fields, the battle scenarios and troop placements are based on real historic events with entertaining, educational, and non-fiction cut-scene storytelling.
  7. i rarely replay against the a.i. because the surprise of force makeup is gone.
  8. in the game folder where the bmp, wav, scenario folders are.
  9. did you try setting the month year to what you want, pick your forces, then change date to 44 or 45 italy, dirt? with a cmbo grass mod?
  10. interesting idea. maybe too tough for the human? i'm game.
  11. thanks, tried it. couldnt handle the small menu and bad stutter in game. didnt look any better either. dpi didnt do anything for the game, just for windows.
  12. ok so here i am hard at work, and the demo for cmak pops up in 1024 x 768 and it looks the same size except for the ui. forgot how an unmodded cmak looks. so i mcmmmed mikeyd new normandy sky and wow its good. guess i'll try it when i get home.
  13. i have a 17" and am using 800 x 600 if i go to 1024 x 768 my desktop icons are too small for comfort. at my job i must have 1024 x 768 on a 17" but for some reason it doesnt seem as bad.
  14. i did not know that higher screen size makes better graphics. do the units appear smaller then?
  15. check the setup instructions to see if there is a setting for inbound and outbound protection. maybe you can choose a less secure setting.
  16. the linksys probably has a firewall, did you install the router yourself?
  17. when in editor, view the map. the flags and reinforcement markers will be there. move them as you would units. [ June 18, 2004, 12:15 PM: Message edited by: junk2drive ]
  18. i just posted my first review since the change. great improvement, now you can edit your review. easy to use, displays well, like the spoiler button feature. no excuse now not to post a review
  19. warning if you make the distance real enough, you will ctrl + click on it to move there. nothing will happen no matter how many times you click. aaaaarrrrhhhhhhh oh, thats the new sky mod. anyway, i made one for the pacific following mikeys great idea. sand / ocean / sky
  20. thats my point i guess, they are visual, dont really do anything except in an exit scenario for escape across a river under fire or sumfink. they are too slow to use to go around an obstruction. might as well walk overland. someone can prove me wrong though.
  21. your anti virus checking the file before it can proceed? and maybe it blocks the rest. just a guess. i had an outgoing email attachment fail because mcafee was taking too long to scan it. cmmods is usually slow on dsl. like 15-20kbs after the 100k start.
  22. yep i've paddled a boat or two. in cm though it is just burning time. i can understand when a designer gives you a broad beach or island with setup zones to plan your attack. i dont understand a designer putting the boats in a setup zone 10 turns away from shore.
  23. after my post i got home to try it with one of my own mods. the lower edge (terrain) was smaller then before resizing. the clouds were not stretched as much. i did not find any difference in computer speed. i have a pc agp radeon 7000 64mb ddr card. i would think that just half sizing would not effect how it displays, but it did.
  24. if this helps the tommy site has some cmbo uni mods and flags that might work for you with renumbering.
