  1. Im sure this was brought up before, but since Steve is checking this thread and the topic is on Israel... Steve, does Battlefront have any interest in modeling the Israeli-Arab wars in the future? Or does the topic bring about as much enthusiasm as NATO vs. Warsaw Pact? I think somebody asked this before, but I couldn't find the answer. Thx in advance!
  2. Pshaw, dude, pshaw I say! You'd never get past my l33t strafing skillz! And even if I do run out of SAW rounds, that's what the RPG I'm also going to be carrying (along with a half-dozen other weapons) is for! One time I leapt from a 2nd story window, and while spinning in mid-air sent a rocket right down some poor sucker's gullet! Don't mess with me dude, i 0wN in cOunter$trike!p
  3. So as this Iron Man commander, can we go into first person mode and command from the ground? I'd like to lead the assault group with my SAW firing on the run as I jump up and down frantically to avoid the bullets of Syrian sniper zombies in the rooftops! W00T! Oh and if Battlefront could code in some sort of Titanium bullet-deflecting shield for my Iron Man commander, that would be like totally sweet!
  4. Interesting video, Grunt - thanks for posting it. Not sure whether they have their facts straight, but they claim the T-90 surpasses the M1A1 on almost every level (except satelite link, which the video quickly adds will soon be added to the T-90). I could translate some of the claims made if any expert in tanks cares to check 'em. I'd be interested to see how much is truth and how much is fiction. Oh, and I'd love a CM: Fulda Gap type game I definitely think the success of games like Red Alert (lol, oldy) and Flashpoint points to a market existing. But hey, whadduiknow.
  5. Oh, that is super feckin l33t! Today's my B-Day too, so this is a nice little present there Battlefront, thanks! At this point in the game's development, the emotion I get is comparable to that warm, fuzzy feeling you might experience when your girl is dancing seductively in front of you and you know that within mere minutes, you'll get laid. Pure contentment. Dance for me Shock Force, dance for me!
  6. Yes, that Afghani skunk is indeed a potent foe. I shudder at the memory of my college days, where many battles were waged on this enemy of freedom, shortly followed by daring night-time raiding parties on the local snack machine. The horror, the horror....
  7. I suppose then we must assume that at least in the release version, most of the fighting will take place on rural/small village type maps with not so many buildings. If troops can't enter buildings or battle house-to-house then city maps would be rather pointless. Maybe the add-on would feature city fighting capability and offer maps such as Stalingrad, Berlin, etc.? That would be something - a bit dissapointing that it's not in the release but eh, I guess you can't have everything.
  8. I feel like, honored and stuff...and my teacher told me rampant abuse of every substance known to civilized man since 1548 A.D. wouldn't get me very far! IN YOUR FACE MRS. KRABAPPEL!!!
  9. Me, I don't even want the complete picture. I'll settle for a couple of small, incomplete beta screens of some combat, **** blowing up, y'know, general stuff I can compulsively masturbate to for the next 8 months as I drink cup after cup of coffee while sittin at my Dell, lurking and refreshing this board every few minutes for any new tidbit of game mechanics or the occasional witty quip by some pompous, middle-aged blowhard. But hey, that's just me...
  10. I dont get it...is this somehow related to eating LSD? If so, groooovy maaan! Instead of bombs we should have spiked the Iraqi water supply with the Cid and then distract them with some tie-dye Tshirts. MK Ultra anyone?
  11. I was hoping somebody would capitalize on the O'Reilley comment and I'm honored that it was Hitler himself! No, really, this is good news all around, thanks Steve.
  12. I give them a week before I personally start creating a barrage of bitchy, whiny posts where I compare Steve to Hitler and BFC in general to some bastardized cross between the Third Reich and Bill O'Reilley's TV show.
  13. Who here subscribes to the mag? They should have it by now, since its the 1st of Nov. Sick looking game, that new Call of Duty BTW..
  14. I agree with this criticism, but I think there's a way around it: just like they have a password now for watching movie files, if this feature were to be included, a similar password could be utilized to protect the view of battle from the other side's POV. If both players agree to share, they can exchange passwords and watch the game progress from both sides. If not, you could only watch your own troop advances, just like you do in-game. Hope that made sense. This would be a KILLER feature.
  15. WWwwwaaaaaaaaahhhhh, I want more purdy pictures!!!!!!
  16. omfg. Do you know what this means?? The current generation was brought up on Pokemon. Power Rangers were bad, but Pokemon... The last days are upon us!
  17. Hmmm, I think this article has to do with the simple fact that the Iraqi fighters didn't have access to modern-day ATGM's, while their neighbor Syria in fact does. Sure, the mighty 'tip of the spear' Abrams can bounce 60's-era RPG projectiles off of its hide like Superman reflects bullets, but what happens when a Syrian Special Op platoon shoots a couple of Kornets and Milans up their tail pipe? I'm no expert, but I think that 'tip of the spear' would then be quite likely to shatter on impact, resulting in lots of dead Americans. Especially if the Abrams was the main weapons platform they were counting on to protect them. I would love, as the Syrian player in a future CM:SF QB, to see the Americans charging at me with a couple of Abrams at the front, yelling BooYaa, thinking themselves impregnable The Stryker brigade is a shift in the right direction, IMO. We aren't really likely to fight against 1st world countries any time soon (we hope). Our tactics have to change from Cold-War armored thrusts into better equipped and coordinated mech-infantry actions where the armored vehicle is once again the support platform, not the main element of combat. That's my view, I guess we'll see how it all plays out come Q2 2006. [ October 19, 2005, 09:33 AM: Message edited by: Ivan Drago ]
  18. I'm down, as long as she's the main character and the game supports 'bump mapping'
  19. The ATGM wars will be something else... From all this discussion I think it's safe to conclude that if you're playing as the Syrians and don't have any Kornets, your best bet is to hide from American heavy armor (M1A1). However, even those aging Saggers should be able to feck up the day of a Stryker crew, right? Err, that is if the guide wire doesn't snap and the crew isn't a Syrian version of Cleavus the bucktoothed hillbilly
  20. I think all of you missed the not so secret point of this thread!!! WE WANTA MORE SCREENSHOTS WE WANTA MORE SCREENSHOTS WE WANTA MORE SCREENSHOTS WE WANTA MORE SCREENSHOTS WE WANTA MORE SCREENSHOTS WE WANTA MORE SCREENSHOTS WE WANTA MORE SCREENSHOTS WE WANTA MORE SCREENSHOTS WE WANTA MORE SCREENSHOTS WE WANTA MORE SCREENSHOTS!!!!! Ahem. Sorry, the meds are wearing off...
  21. Hah! You think that one's strange, and I haven't even elaborated on the one involving Bea Arthur, a kiddy pool full of baby oil and a reinforced M1A1 company...
  22. It would be, of course, beyond cool...but CMx2's engine can't support forces as big as the CMx1 engine can. CM:SF is only like a couple of companies maximum per side. Of course, a CM:SF campaign probably wouldn't be as fun as a CMx2:WW2 campaign. And by the time they release CMx2:WW2, our computers will be nitrogen-cooled Deep Blue look a likes. Or at least that's my wet dream.
  23. I hope BFC goes corporate soon. On the condition that all forum members with numbers lower then 12829 are automatically eligible for buying stock, of course
  24. http://www.inetres.com/gp/military/cv/weapon/M242.html That looks tasty!
