  1. Er... If it is all the same to you, would you mind settling the size of terrain tiles before the first screenshots come? I say 5 metres... whats your bid? </font>
  2. So you've mastered it then? Nothing new for you to learn? You've "done" all the "levels" and you're on to the next game...
  3. So - to summarise - after 1942 at least, there's a darn good chance that the smoke you're using is WP, so BTS's original argument "we don't know whether WP was deliberately used offensively" is moot. The fact is the smoke is likely coming from something nasty, so the way we wander our troops through it (and happily fire out of trenches and buildings covered in it) is undermodelled. Right? GaJ
  4. So, back off for a moment to the basics .... you're saying that there's "regular" smoke and then there's "WP" smoke? What is this 'regular' smoke? Doesn't it too make you cough and choke? This particular thread started from the innocent question "how come I can waltz through my smoke screen?". The answer was "actually, that's a mistake, you shouldn't be able to 'cause your smoke screen was made with WP, which is nasty". Now I'm hearing "you smoke screen is just regular smoke, not WP". So - what is "regular smoke" and how come it does't choke me when I rain it on myself? GaJ
  5. In a galaxy far far away , Prof Oz commented: ... comments?
  6. 1) What's going on with the round wheels? 2) Who's grass mod is that? GaJ
  7. Seeing as how everyone here things the Cold War is the next great milieu, why are these other FPS/RTS companies getting it so wrong?
  8. That's usually considered to be "realistic". Afterall, how often could a commander looking at a map actually "simulate" the LOS that he'd have in his attacking positions?
  9. (on the topic of "were there Tigers there?", I can only say that our playtest experience of scenario #1 at least tells us that if there were then the Allies didn't stand a chance! ... however the players are not supplied with infantry who could get around to leaping up on the Tiger, so maybe that is the problem?)
  10. Feedback on St Lambert #1 posted at TPG. Feedback on the feedback would be appreciated... GaJ.
  11. Tod's wife got her new lungs, and we got our mods back! Yay! (even if the download counters aren't working  ) [ May 21, 2005, 12:52 AM: Message edited by: GreenAsJade ]
  12. I like the onamatopeia idea! It'd be a laugh! (Would you do ambients too? "Tweet Tweet"! ) GaJ
  13. Tarkus IF mods are _the_ IF mods. He will probably send you a copy if you ask nicely, while CMMODs is down... (I could too, I suppose... they are not small though!) GaJ.
  14. Take a look at this! Man - it's be nice to see some realistic damage like that on a Tiger in action in a game! This photo is part of this set taken by a WeBoB member recently. GaJ
  15. Does the fact that this drivel has gone on for 3 pages now mean that BFC no longer frequent this forum, I wonder? If that means they're busy coding Space Lobsters X2 I guess that's a good thing?
  16. You mean anything else other than the many CMx2 threads in this forum? It's unlikely that there would be anything else other than the stuff written here by the Battlefront guys... why would they say something elsewhere and not here? So - if you've searched well, then you've probably seen everything there is to see on that topic.
  17. Try the Dunes(s) scenario at Scenario Depot. It's a blast. It's anything but flat...
  18. I'm not sure if it was me or someone else you were insulted by. I wasn't meaning to insult anyone, I was just registering my disinterest in the period GaJ.
  19. Wow - lots of powerful arguing. I just hope it won't be Cold War 'cause I don't find that very interesting! Hardly relate to it at all, in fact. Guess I haven't seen enough Cold War movies. Or played enough Cold Ware board games. I wonder why that is? Maybe they'd be as boring as the idea of Cold War CM? GaJ.
  20. Energy _alone_ is not going to determine whether a shell KOs a tank. If the shell has the same amount of energy when it exits as it had when it went in, then it's entirely possible that the tank doesn't care. With a sledgehammer, it's not the energy it starts with that matters, it's the fact that it efficiently transfers that energy to the head. For all I know, neutrinos have astonishing amounts of energy, yet they go through me all the time... GaJ.
  21. I don't know anything about the realism, or whether this kind of stuff is actually modelled in CM, but it _appears_ to be. I've just had a remarkable run with Stuarts, where time after time a shell goes in one side and out the other without the crew even batting an eyelid! If this is consistent, it makes Stuarts much better than their specs suggest. (In CM, that is, not necessarily in real life). GaJ.
  22. Amazing: I just sent off a turn where I was having The Colonel's problem exactly. next time I'll try NP's solution!
  23. It's not clear to me why its ridiculous to move the discussion from heckling to constructively discussing why TSD is the way it is... maybe the heckling was more fun or somefink? GaJ.
