  1. Hello: You can buy the Upgrade (not available yet) for CMBN for $10. Or wait till MG comes out and I think the Upgrade will be bundled with MG such that the Upgrade costs only $5. CW forces for CMFI will be in the next module I believe. Gerry
  2. How is the AT Grenade fired? Is it with the same mechanism on the Kar 98? So they have a total of 5 grenades the rifle can fire, 2 specially designed for AT? Thanks, Gerry
  3. Thanks GaJ. Yes that was the problem. And you also spotted another problem (grin)! Gerry
  4. Hello GaJ: Thanks. But there is no CMFI tab. It cannot located my CMBN or CMFI installation. When I try to Add an Install it asks me for those two folder locations above. If you can tell me what's wrong with the 2 entries above, I will be able to give it a go. Thanks again and for the application. Gerry
  5. Hello: Still not working for me. Here is what I tried to set up: 1. Installation directory D:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\Battlefront\Combat Mission\Fortress Italy\Game Files 2. Drop Box Location D:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\Dropbox What am I doing wrong. BTW, it couldn't find any CM application by itself, e.g. CMBN. Thanks, Gerry
  6. Hello All: I have used H2HH before with CMBN without problems. I just need some reminders how to install 1.6.2. for CMFI. I am using XP so the Games folder is under Documents and Settings. When you launch 1.6.2, it prompts for 2 locations: 1. Installation directory - I believe this is the folder where the CMFI .exe file is located? 2. Drop Box Location - Is this the Games folder under Documents and Settings or is it the Dropbox folder under Documents and Settings\My Documents? Thanks, Gerry
  7. Hello All: Looking for another opponent for a CMFI PBEM. Two requirements please: 1. Small battles first. 2. Consistent log return. I prefer a file a day. I lose interest/track if someone disappears for a while. 3. I play at Warrior level. Hope that is OK. Please PM me if interested. Thanks. Gerry
  8. Hello: Wondering what qualifies them as recon units? They are huge (x 13 solders) so they will have trouble not being spotted themselves. And don't have binoculars. Thanks, Gerry
  9. Hello: I thought this was a feature of CM? That is, once the spotter dies you cannot cancel the strike? I had this happen in a recent CMBN game. Thanks, Gerry
  10. Hello: Yes. PM me so we can get choose the scenario, etc. Let me know which of the small ones you play. Gerry
  11. Hello: Looking for one opponent to start playing CMFI PBEM. Two requirements please: 1. Small battles first. 2. Consistent log return. I prefer a file a day. I lose interest/track if someone disappears for a while. Let me know. Gerry P.S. If you are a strong player and would like to give me some lessons and a whooping or two that would be also fine.
  12. All units and equipment seems fine. And the two other concrete bunkers are firing away. Ant thoughts? Thanks, Gerry
  13. Have a team in a bunker. In the early turns they were able to fire. Now the only Menu set that is available to them is Special. (They are Veteran 505th PIR. +1 Cautious.) Any ideas why? Thanks, Gerry
  14. It was an infantry-rich target so it looks like they got excited. Gerry
  15. I am sorry but I don't understand why the Target Briefly doesn't work for the mortar. When you tell them to fire for 15 seconds, why do they keep going. Even if there is an enemy in LOS. Seems like they are doing their own thing by continuing to fire. Just trying to understand. Gerry
  16. One of the issues with CMBN for some were the small maps. Were they limited to 2 x 2 Km? How has this changed in CMFI? Thanks, Gerry
  17. That's a bummer. This is really the type of weapon it would be handy for as it can go through its ammo in a few minutes. Does it work better with MGs and main AFV guns? Thanks, Gerry
  18. Hello All: Set this command but the mortar (using direct fire) fired for the whole minute. It showed up 00:15 at the beginning of the turn so it looked like I had issued the command correctly. But it just kept firing. Any thoughts, Gerry
  19. Some caution is definitely needed. Scouting/maneuvering, lather, rinse, and repeat as MikeyD says. I also try to gauge how I am doing by dividing the map into say thirds and comparing my progress to the time used. Gives you a rough idea if you need to speed up. I have also done what Sublime says. Want to move across some terrain say, but giving it one more minute or so to apply more suppressive fire first. Have caught myself doing this a lot. Many scenarios have 45 - 60 minutes so you really do have more time than you might think. I was used to the 7 turns in ASL so I feel I have lots of time usually. Gerry
  20. Pretty amazing to see newspapers from those days! Gerry
  21. Hello: Playing first battle in Advanced Training Campaign where you have to control the N and S sides of a bridge. I got points for both even though I had no troops in the victory location areas. The enemy was shattered admittedly but still I thought you had to have troops in the VL (both are Occupy VLs). Thanks, Gerry
  22. It seems a lot of us are looking forward to Bagration and the rest of the Eastern Front. But Michael is probably right about the time frame. Gerry
  23. Bummer. I was going to recommend that Aldo Raine do the Italian voices for FFE. Gerry
  24. Hello Phil: I think I am seeing a difference. As I said everything looks brighter and that is nice IMO. I have shadows off so I cannot comment on that. I also see more detail on vehicles (bolts on wheels...). I have a Nvidia Quadro NVS 160M. Thanks, Gerry
