Flogging the dead Coop horse.
Salkin replied to Salkin's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Yeah, that's what I figured. Well thanks for the answer Mr. Shaw! //Salkin -
My mate got real excited when he heard the news that a new CM WW2 game was released. We used to play coop on one computer vs the AI. Problem is he now lives on the other side of the country , but we play alot of other games cooperatively and we would like to do this in CM too. Are there any news on implementing coop in this new version ? It would mean another sold game Steve ! How about it ? //Salkin

I can tell . *Sodding off* //Salkin -
I just love the tension of that first movie when you hear a vehicle rumbling on the horizon. //Salkin

Also I hear they love new members in the PENG thread .

CM:BN/MBT. A Peng Challenge Thread Production

Did the Peng thread aquire the Cherry Waffle thread , or what happened exactly ? //Salkin -
I'ts great with AAR:s this early ....it's a great way to hear what people think of the game and how the game plays. A good AAR usually equals an excited gamer which equals a good game . I'm really looking forward to some youtube commentary of a multiplayer game. //Salkin

So WEGO is the prefered method Pak40. Did you play CMSF or did you just resurface for CMBFN ? Oh , and a nice little AAR ! //Salkin

I think I have changed my mind...

And don't forget guys in RT you don't get to watch THE most thrilling short movies of your lives . //Salkin -
It's really cheating using that stuff anyway....but so is using Tigers I guess . //Salkin

Campaigns versus Strategic Layer
Salkin replied to scottie's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
In CMBO I actually created my own campaign with a set of rules I wrote down on a paper. With a dice and some simple rules for point loss and or reward for previous battle I made a simple drawing of germany with different sized cities that I tried to capture. Really random and very simplified (not for the grognards out there) but it still gave me a sense of fun and progression. This was off course based on the quickbattle system and the only thing that really changed was the amount of points me and the computer had in the different battles. I wouldn't mind something super simple...just for the funloving part of the crowd. Modders get to work . //Niklas -
I NEW there was some fun left to be had in these forums! Now where is that cherry waffle thread or whatever they called it ? //Salkin

I'm probably going to miss the old random quickbattle maps. There were always alot of unrealistic but steep rolling hills to hide behind while advancing in that game . //Salkin

Hello everybody ! I'm downloading the latest creation as we speak. I hope Steve and friends are done with all the "smart" weapons now because I'm itching for some classic (not smart ?) but updated Combat Mission WW2 style!. I tried the newness that is CMSF (I have the mousemat to prove it) and it wasn't for me. With all the "smartness" going around here have you expelled what's his face who was always talking about blowing everything up? I still see the PENG thread is still here so I guess some things haven't changed . Is Madmatt still doing the sounds for this game by the way (he did an excellent job on the earlier CM:s. ) ? Anyways good to be back and may the coffers of battlefront always be full. //Salkin

Have the reviews dealt a fatal blow?
Salkin replied to TheNathan's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Good to hear sales are going great ! This bodes well for the WW2 version and the upcomming patches. Now Steve and his merry gang don't have to eat soup every day while fixing CMSF . //Salkin -
OVERALL are you enjoying CMSF ? (YES or NO)
Salkin replied to scottie's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Not playing yet . I'll give them a month or two more for patches before I even touch this potential gem. I hope that after some time this game will be as great (if not greater) then it's predecessors. Also...it'll be nice to play this game with the sexy mousemat they will be supplying for the collectors edition . //Salkin -
Hehehe...you guys are funny...but remember this; everytime you come out here and act all funny like it's like a huge advertisement for the thread. If you're not carefull you could get all sorts of strange and even a few normal people poking around in there. ....just saying is all. //Salkin

Salkin replied to Echo Delta's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
This is totally my opinion too . I have been meaning to show it to my neighbour and lure him into some TCP/IP ation, but I'll probably wait for the next patch. //Salkin -
Maybe the tripod can't be set up properly inside ? //Salkin
