  1. lovely mods, man....really lovely mods. *will be looking for any new ones from u.
  2. ...at cmonds database. (the copied info to it:) 9 different Operation maps....Opmap8 and 9 have each 3 versions. In the name u can view its size. They are al very large because i tried to make them as advance maps, leading into, around and through the landscape. Defending these should be quit a challenge aswell. Just try to make a good setup yourself..mixed forces might be needed. I kept changing thing so today i just decided to post them... (u know the drill: u can cut them down if u want, u can use them in whatever way u like, and use them freely in whatever sense....me? i would like to see a real operation scenario posted on one of these, so if u got something for it; please go ahead.) Next after 6 august im going to puchase the bundelgame with cmak in it. i might be heading over there, and make maps of italy and such, who knowes, we'll see...
  3. 37mm, why dont u just take a look at them in the editor? i know some are what smaller, but id have to look in the editor myself to know. Just pick one that way...and or make them smaller if you like.
  4. But wouldnt it be extremely hard not to just meet eachother halfway and not get on at all? But that would be the catch to it then..trying to get around that. Could be interesting, yes.
  5. ...Its not work. I do this to relax. Aha, so there is someone who uses them, still. Good to hear that, thanks.
  6. Hi. I just did a upload to the cmmods database CMBB section of this pack of scenarios. Date Entered/Updated: 27-07-04 Game: CMBB Title (30 char max.): 25mapsforFlagControl Country: All Type: Other Unit Modified: Maps Winter Mod? No CMMOS Compliant? No Description: This is a scenario\mappack with 25 Meeting engagement setups. Al forces have been carefully picked to provide a fair match-up. (same amound of points spend on units) Every map has flags placed that both players will have to try to enclose to be sure to win the game. Every game has atleast one, but sometimes 3 or more reinforcements. Settings variate but turntime is always set to variable. I would say unit setup should be free for the players themselves (if already done by me)...in the designated setupzones. (i got this idea from playing the flagcontrol gametype in the game Blitzkrieg. This ofcourse will be somewhat different but i think could also be pretty thrilling.) Cool would be, if u play a game, to share your findings of it with me on maybe the proving grounds or in the battlefront cmbb forum... ..well: enjoy (copied and pasted that bit) Please take a look, and play a friend;) Im also doing a mappack of only cmf/operation maps for cmbb atm, witch is nearly finnished now. That one holds 9 maps (and 4 more with different versions of two of those.) These are al very large; more then say 2000x3000+ meters. The terrain is good for a advance, with mostly lots of different things to encounter and overcome. Hope some are going to like those and use, maybe. Its comming soon; i am having my vacation;) [ July 28, 2004, 10:30 PM: Message edited by: theike ]
  7. I have the unit bases on al the time, so i can spot the units quit easily. But i feel i have to play with trees on, mostly on full coverage, because if thats what the scape looks like i wouldnt want to not see them. Also having the units in that coverage makes them feel much safer when i try to close up on the enemy;)
  8. To give advice its important to exactly know what the map is like aswell. With my not that experienced look i would say i wouldnt buy all those troops as veterens. U would save good money getting regular trucks regular arti, and so on...i would make my key inf comp vet and my key tanks. The rest of the troops would try be stay conseiled anyway so reg or vet dont make much difference. Another key would be to try to setup a parameters for defending on a good place and after that try to let the soviet do the main moving around, maybe use your key troops then to try to outflank those movements. I mean draw him. Im guessing there is some fair amound of woods on the map, since your infantry is such a point of interest? Keep your platoons compact, advance on contact, and do small bursts of assaults on wearing down enemy units, but only with backup firepower... When you engage the enemy, get a loss on them and wait what they will do, what they are, and then use the backup firepower if needed. (u said he was a bit unpatient so get him on that) The tank issue is clearly more complex. It all depends on what u have against u at any point. Try to go for hull down and position some big tanks in a overall loss of sight with their cover arch on armor. Then hope for the best...Use your movements to atract his atention into those arch areas. Those things, but u probably know al that. Its key to try to take his infentry on with your bigger firepower if possible, without his bigger firepower around. Its to the map if this is even possible. Its hard.
  9. amazing how good they look. apsolutely woth trying a game on. U can really get the feel your in some specific region when u take a look at al 5. Thanks for sharing them Desertfox.
  10. i have to apologice...it was indeed my own mistake. instead of clicking back to where i saw them on the main page i tried to fastly grab them from the right of my first download...i then picked the cmbo ones there. thats why one works and the others dont. I tried to do things too quick as usual... sorry about this misfortunate post.
  11. i have downloaded them and put them in my game...the 4 operation maps didnt show. They are cmb files. Thats not for cmbb, but for cmbo if i remember correctly, strange though that they are put in with the cmbb maps at the depot. I liked the looks of the 5th one though. the more the pitty i cant see the other 4.
  12. Combat Mission is a mental game, not a thrilling game. If occasional thrills occur it is only due to small things trying to sip into the bigger picture. Therefor looking at the details should and must be of lesser importance them playing the game wisely. If one wants the thrill of seeing blood, pictoresk villages and hills, one could go on a vacation, preferably in irak maybe. We are trying to learn something, not unlearn. bla bla bla and so on
  13. lol...thanks for the quick respons guys I will keep me to my word then...im going to look into it tomorrow. And after i post it ill be back some more ofcourse, on that good old site of yours;)
  14. As some of u might know, i sometimes posted a few scenario's along with my mappacks. Happily enough i just got my cmbb game back to work like it should, with patches and all, so ive been looking around for some inspiration...and came along a older scenario ive made called: No-Eyes-test. I played it yesterday and thought i didnt do a very bad job there. (well as far as my ability goes that is) Now im thinking of reposting it on The Proving Grounds, for some word from others on it. That made me think: would some of u guys up to now have played some of the scenario's from the mappacks? and if so, what did u think of it? I know alot of them i didnt play-test at the time, so im pretty much in the dark about there playability. Jet again i have been able to pull of respectable scenario's without playing them at all, going on whats in my mind just. But now im really wondering if some of those could be what this No-Eyes-test one is. Darn i might be making some new scenarios...playing cmbb got to me again, and playing Blitzkrieg made me more of a 'adult' player, i think 'niways, im rambling on now... Do u have some feedback? good or bad?; im listening;) [ June 03, 2004, 06:56 PM: Message edited by: theike ]
  15. Good to hear the Grounds is doing so well. Kinda like half the scenarios posted on the depot where tried out on the Grounds. That might be a bit bold, but isnt it true?... Yes, GJK i mean the recent Blitzkrieg pc game. Ive played some now, and i have to say, not the most delicate of games;) Fun though, fun it is. to make this a cmbb topic? in comparison cmbb is the better refined, better ballanced and more human of the two games. But then again who of u cOUld give us a game thats better in (the illuster world of) making a war game then Combat Mission?
  16. Hi GJK. and what would be Great Blue? a mod to blitzkrieg i guess? tonight we are going to try a first game together... Ive been pretty good, GJK. Been doing alot of stuff but for once not behind my computer. I had some troubles with a script called aifind witch i could get rid of in any way, so i had to start new from scratch. But i cant get my CMBB to work anymore, my own cd doesnt get through some wav file in installation, and now with help of my brothers cd, i can start up a game and play (i guess, i havent played one jet) but i cant install the patches. With patch 1 there is a error...pitty, pitty, pitty. Im going to have to try to do something about that. Good thing is though; im drawing again now, instead of making cmbb maps i now back to my painting roots...lol. and how are you doing? Al well on The Proving Grounds? Bet lot of thrilling scenarios still get made and played there;) greats mate
  17. I just got Blitzkrieg. Im playing the tutorials now. Should play my brother on it in about weeks;) gna gna; sure looks like its gonna be alot of fun.
  18. They look much better now. And i was just in a battle where i had alot of them so its very welcome.
  19. http://cmmods.com/web/CMMods.nsf?OpenDatabase&login There u go for the pic and the download. 22 maps. of witch: -12 in al kinds of rural types -3 mountains -3 plains -1 delta operation and 2 scenario's with a village to grab(hense the plus in the name) Must be something for anyone, surely. 20. For the first time in 3,5 years im doing no games besides the occasional cmbb. Im hoping to upgrade my computer soon to be abble to play more thrilling firstpersonshooters...preferably single players. Would like to give Unreal2 and Hellraiser a try, I did alot of unreal tournament online gaming, i miss it, but i will not go through all that bad bad frame/package sending and timeslot mixe up again. (yep, im dissapointed;)
  21. hasnt been my day yesterday;) Thanks for the explanation. btw, i like the mod alot, im going to keep it in. Thanks a Lot
  22. hmm...i have cmbb and after i just put in the 2110/2111 doodads they dissapeared on screenview. Ive just put the original bmps back that i had saved incase, but they aswell now dont show anymore. the summer wheat doodads still show but the fall doodads dont anymore.... Anybody know how this can be undone?
  23. Never mind. Ive found them. Been looking under cmbb mods, not at cmak. oki...gonna download.
  24. U got me interested...but i cant find such mod under your name on the cmmods database...? (not under newest mods and not under sortable by designer) I was wondering if u might not have posted it jet...
