WWI Campaign - Designers Notes
Kuniworth replied to Edwin P.'s topic in Strategic Command 2 Scenario and Mods Forum
Look Edwin this is what I don't understand. I love the idea of a ww1 mod and I'm sure it will be great. But according to Hubert you were the one who pursuaded him into making PDE. Should'nt you be working with that kind of cold war campaigns? THat was what you thought us guys should do right???? -

Ridiculously Easy Strategic Command Contest!

this competition was rigged. I ran Udet's IP through a friends program and guess what? It's the same as Timskorn!!!! -
IRL Denmark fell in 4 hours, no invasion happened. Why not script the fall of denmark if germans are massed on border and dows.

Nah should be possible without a marine unit. Those lads on d-day were regular infantry.

SC2 AI Article - Part II

You write that the no winter war decision delays the entry of Finland. In my book this would completly stop Finland from entering the war on Soviet union later on. -

Well I think we have to look for sc3 for hexes. Personally I will continue to support Hubert and PDE(Im sure it will be great) but I hope work on sc3 will start soon to take us to the next level. Otherwise I think war in flames will suck up many ole grognards. [ May 02, 2008, 03:18 PM: Message edited by: Kuniworth ] -
So I took a days off work to see Warsaw, Poland. I guess it kind of a must-see for ww2 buffs. Warsaw was completly destroyed during the war, and all of it has been rebuild. But nothing have been forgotten and through out the city you will see memorial signs of massacres committed by the nazis. two must sees: Warsaw uprising museum As late as 1990 it was forbidden in communist Poland to view the uprising as something more than bandits and german collaborats. However since fall of communism, the polish state has created an honary museum to the home army's uprising in 1944. This tragic and heroic event is depicted in large two stories building with tons of good info in both polish and english. Highly recommended for all ww2 buffs and all who want a closer look a polish bravery caught in a titanic struggle between Soviet Union and Germany. Polish army museum Information is provided mainly in polish which makes it a bit hard for a foreigner. However they got a really good ww2 section with uniforms and arms of the polish armed forces. Even the german goliath viechle is present. The true gem though is the outside yard where collections of ww2 and cold war weapons can been seen. Here are some examples: T-34/76 T-34/85 Is-2 T-55 Sherman M4A1 Jagdpanzer 38 "Hetzer" german armoured personel carriers etc Yak-9 IL-2 TU-2 plus lots of british and russian howitzers take some time off to go to Warsaw. With the low-budget airlines prices are cheap for european citizens. [ April 09, 2008, 02:06 PM: Message edited by: Kuniworth ]

Strategic Command 3
Kuniworth replied to Kuniworth's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
thread still relevant. -
Im sure PDE will be great. But it's not what Im looking for. This constant "destruction" of units instead of retreat rules, combined with too many attack directions(tiles) take away the fun of having a frontline. I love to see SC 1 with the enhancements and editing capability of sc2 plus retreat rules.
-
Actually it does not make any sense and is troublesome in very aspect. Thats just what you get with tiles. WaW is a truely great game and I guess we are spoiled to have such support from the Dev. However I am still angry that instead of introducing hexes and retreat-rules we now continue down the same road with an expansion with the same basic tiles. Im not doubting it will be good just frustrated that we are not able to take the sc series to the next level.
-
Well it's quite easy, you use too few corps in your scenario according to the historical figures.. So map is too small to make a coherent frontline work. You should look in my Battle for Russia scenario for a more realistic corps-sized scenario. Not saying it's perfect but it works well with the historical figures of ww2. I think Normal Dude came really close with his Mediterranean experiment a while ago.

Tony -why do you hide?
Kuniworth replied to Kuniworth's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
speaking of that wasnt Yogi and Hombreplin the same guy? -
Just watched the credits for waw and Ive noticed something interesting. Everyone had their names put out except one that is just referred to by his screen-name: BLASHY this is the final evidence to confirm that BBlashy actually is Huberts brother Tony Cater. But in order to cover it up he goes under the name "Blashy". case closed. [ February 22, 2008, 03:33 PM: Message edited by: Kuniworth ]
