  1. Okay, finally getting around to sending in my first ever ROW game result. According to the ROW www site: "Game Report email needs to have the subject, "Game Report". The body of the email must contain the following information: Tourney Number (1-3), Scenario Title, Your username on this forum, the side you played, your score, your opponent's username and his score." If I've got a handle on this, the tourney number is actually 4 (for ROW IV)...or is this actuall y supposed to be the Round Number? Also, I'm guessing that the score you report is the percentage, not the actual raw total.

  4. No. And from what I remember, it will have vanished at the start of the next battle, unlike wrecked/abandoned vehicles.
  5. Any luck yet? If not, send it my way. (also sending this via e-mail to nblanpre@fr.perenco.com as requested)
  6. That is so cool...it's practically frozen. It makes for some very nasty surprises. You can do the same thing with pillboxes inside houses. The other day I was playtesting a scenario with a pillbox in a house. A Sherman rubbled the house and I drove on thinking all was well. My infantry found that all was not well when a very healthy pillbox opened fire on them. Panther Commander </font>
  7. I'll continue the slight digression: I've had a Pz IV (maybe a StuG III) push a mobile, armed Soviet AC (BA-6?) into some rubble. It was able to rotate the chassis but ate too many grenades before we could find out if it could leave the rubble. In the scenario editor, I've plopped buildings down on top of AFVs: they could rotate the turret and fire out with what seemed to be normal LOS restrictions, but not leave the building. Can't remember if they could rotate the chassis. [ March 10, 2004, 06:48 PM: Message edited by: Brent Pollock ]
  8. This might've been placed by the scenario designer prior to pasting in the building....oh...a QB...nevermind...unless it was on an imported map
  9. First time I saw a CM bunker burn was from a direct rocket OBA round. Second time was from a FT attack from the side: blowed up real good! You don't have to deliver the nasty stuff through the firing slit. A large-caliber artillery shell won't knock out a bunker? I'd think a direct top hit by a 300mm rocket would have SOME effect ... </font>
  10. You should be playing Team 17's "Worms" series...come to think of it, Molotov's aren't as good as grenades in Worms, either
  11. Play Hotseat and never leave the seat. Also, for hotseat, no actual Password is required in the Password field: just hit Enter.
  12. ...and unit quality affects how well they adhere to their cover arc. See page 86 of the PDF manual that came with the CMAK CD. Also, p. 70 explains how the cover arc and Move to Contact commands interact.
  13. I've tried this but the programme (the hilariously named "Freedom") seems to forget after every restart that I checked the "Always Allow" box. It's comforting to know that others have seen it. I was worried that something odious had slipped in and was using CM for nefarious purposes.
  14. I've been noticing this for the last little while but recently it's become more disruptive. While I'm playing CMBB or CMAK, usually a PBEM file, the game will get interrupted and dump me back to the desktop. Thereon will be a message from my Firewall stating that CMBB or CMAK "needs to communicate with the internet". In the details section, it states that the "program wants to communicate to a remote computer over the UDP protocol." I've never used the TCP/IP function, and this interruption is occurring during PBEM files. I see no reason why CM would need to communicate with the internet. I'm running Windows XP Home.
  15. Now there's an idea. I can take or leave having fanatics labelled during the match, but it would be nice to see them labelled once the match is over. Anyone know if fanaticism carries over from one battle to the next during Operations or importation to a QB map [NRBH]?
  16. Hmmm....that rings a bell. I'm pretty sure I did have a Molotov lunched from an Ampulomet cause a Pz IV to lose mobility. Same match that had a StuG III immobilised by a 50 mm mortar.
  17. Had a T-26 take a Molotov "Top Penetration, 1 Crew Casualty" just the other day. Not nearly as effective as grenade bundles or RPGs, but still better than nothing. Can't recall ever seeing a KO or immobilisation to a Molotov, though.
  18. Anyone else experiencing movie files > 1 Mb right from the get go in the night battle? I know it's a big map, but it isn't snow-covered, tree-infested Finland ; what the heck could be causing it?

  21. Found it. Here's the relevant snippet from the B&T ROW Rules: [it's actually repeated once...maybe to highlight its importance ] "If you are playing the German side you will also receive a secured saved game file in addition to the two briefings and password. By 'secured' I mean that the briefings have been stripped out, the game begun, and the passwords entered. This is the file you will use to start the PBEM game. It will be a .cmg file, not a .txt file. Start the game just as you would any other new PBEM game. The only difference is that you will have to enter the password I provide you. You will find yourself in the Axis setup phase." </font>
  22. At this point, PittPanther31 [Mellonhead30@aol.com] & Nick/Deadly88 [nmcentee@vianet.ca] should both have received PBEM files from me. Please post/e-mail if you haven't. Still awaiting the first file from: Gene Anglen/Strider [strider@bak.rr.com] & Steve/MrSpkr [mrspkr@aircanopy.net] If you've sent it, I haven't received it.
  23. Maybe they're like me and thought at first that they should save it to the PBEM folder. Then, when you go looking for it using the JOIN MULTIPLAYER button, it doesn't show up in the list of files. After trying that a couple times, I twigged to the fact that I was supposed to plonk it into the Scenarios folder and open it using the START GAME and EMAIL buttons - worked like a charm. All this is likely in the ROW instructions, which guys like me don't pay enough heed to.
  24. I've received the list and my first match is listed as: MrSpkr vs Brent Pollack [sic] The same e-mail also included the Allied briefing. According to this blurb from the ROW rules section at Boots & Tracks, "Each player will receive the schedule for his section only. Where your name is on the LEFT you will play the Allied side for that scenario...", I should be playing the Axis side...or is that guideline not being used for ROW IV?
