I feel like I am in a comedy skit....I watch the counter.....it decrements to zero...I click the download link....once again the counter..I do this for five or six cycles, but I never get the file to download, am I not waiting long enough or am I missing something? What amazed me in reading the last link that John provided, was that the Russians allowed the Chechens in Grozny to do everything to them that they the Red Army did to the Germans in Stalingrad, Kharkov and other large cities during WW2. Some say that the Americans lost the Vietnam War because of the guerilla tactics of the VC and the supurb small unit infantry tactics used by the North Vietnamese Army. Yet America had a long history of fighting guerilla wars...against the Southwest and Plains Indians, and against the Moros in the Phillipines. This is off topic I know, but it seems that military forces do not always absorb the lessons they have already learned, and are arrogant and closed minded to the fact that small countries can cause great military troubles to the so called superpowers.

Once the clock begins to tick Strykers begin to take catastrophic hits. I am assuming the fire is coming from the other end of the board, where some BMPs and a tank eventually get spotted. There might also be an ATGM or two in the wooded area to the right front of the Strykers or from the roof of the three storey small building forward of the woods. I have not gotten far enough through the battle to find out, and I hope it isnt the BMPs and the tank because then we have the shooting through walls and buildings thing and it ruins this battle completely. I even pop a smoke screen right off and run top speed out of it, but my vehicles still get hit, killing most infantry aboard. Anyone else tried this one?

Can American units with MOUT equipped combat engineers breach free standing or building walls...if so how, I cant find a reference in the manual.

Steve this is abosultely on target!! When I first purchased CMBO (about a year and a half after it came out), I considered it the game I had been waiting for. I still play it occasionally. CMBB and CMAK I still play five years later...I am involved in tournaments and I have a series of PBEMs and on line play with people that I have met since I joined this community. Combat Mission: $45...... The friendships, associations, and joy of playing: Priceless
