  1. ....and who would this so-called "judging committee" be??? Eh Joe, certainly not anyone from around here...possibly you might find someone with the qualifications "to Judge" in that Waffle thread, but then again this is not a pie tasting contest.
  2. Things that are black include all the plants in the garden, the house, the peacocks (although they have white skull-shaped "eyes" on their tails), the cats (Death likes cats) and the bees (Death also likes bees, possibly because a hive mind has no fear of him). Things that are bone-white (and indeed skeletal) include the trout in the pond, some of the birds and the garden gnomes........and also Homer Simpson.
  3. Here sir...check this out...they are not walls but parapets, very common throughout the world. Iraqi people will sleep on the roof of their home at night in the heat of summer, the parapet acts as a privacy wall as well as preventing them from rolling off the roof. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parapet#Parapet_roofs
  4. You can't die from that ****, you bloody fool. If you want to be around to enjoy Small Emma awhile longer. Take better care of yourself, and eat a proper diet with lots of natural fiber.
  5. Saw a full page add in the current issue of "Armchair General" ......"coming to stores in June 2007"....is that accurate?

  8. With all the gadgets, gizmos, body armor etc. that modern soldiers are wearing...its a wonder they can walk around, let alone engage in combat. They are enveloped in an artificial cocoon, deprived of their natural sensory abilities. Any of you guys who have been deployed or are over there now....does all of that gear make it difficult to perform on the ground. Most of the images that we see lately are in urban surroundings..what about out in the boonies...does extra protective gear help or hinder?
  9. Check out this video I made of a few turns in a recent CMBB battle I had with Boo ....he had the Russians. The battle was part of the "Stalingrad Pack" Comments welcome.
  10. We need sing songs during regular hours as well.. Headed out to my big two-wheeler, I was tired of my own voice Took a bead on the northern plains and just rolled that power on Twelve hours out of Mackinaw City stopped in a bar to have a brew Met me a girl and we had a few drinks and I told her what I'd decided to do She looked out the window a long long moment then she looked into my eyes She didn't have to say a thing, I knew what she was thinkin' Roll, roll me away, won't you roll me away tonight I too am lost, I feel double-crossed and I'm sick of what's wrong and what's right We never even said a word, we just walked out and got on that bike And we rolled And we rolled clean out of sight We rolled across the high plains Deep into the mountains Felt so good to me Finally feelin' free Somewhere along a high road The air began to turn cold She said she missed her home I headed on alone Stood alone on a mountain top, starin' out at the Great Divide I could go east, I could go west, it was all up to me to decide Just then I was a young hawk flyin' and my soul began to rise And pretty soon My heart was singin' Roll, roll me away, I'm gonna roll me away tonight Gotta keep rollin', gotta keep ridin', keep searchin' till I find what's right And as the sunset faded I spoke to the faintest first starlight And I said next time Next time We'll get it right Bob Seger
  11. Yes....we were talking about insects, they have six legs.
  12. Cat 4 for me..Perhaps I am just too much in love with CM to even consider the time it will take me to master ToW. I was excited about the release, but I really dont care for the game as it is.
  13. Why are you not sending me turns insect? You know I can have you squashed if I choose to.
  14. Guten Morgen, mein freund....It probably is uncomfortable, which is why they always send young men into war. I rememeber back in my day, my first landing in Vietnam from choppers taking off from a helicopter carrier off shore. I was loaded down with so much crap that I could hardly climb the passageway ladders to get to the helo deck. After awhile we learned to travel a lot lighter, we did not have all of the body armor that they have now, and Marine Corps gear in the mid 1960's was stuff left over from the Korean War, we didnt even have the nice rucksacks that the Army had. The most noticable load relief came when we received the M-16 rifle in 1967, that alone took a lot of weight off compared to the M-14.
  15. Happy belated Anzac Day, to our resident Aussie and Kiwi blighters.
  16. http://www.afmo.com/2_Piece_ACU_Set_Shirt_and_Trouser_p/201-00139.htm Check out this link, the uniforms themselves are made from cotton, or a cotton nylon combination, which should be comfortable. I think its all the bulky gear and the armored vests that make it look so heavy.
  17. I saw the show on "Mail Call" about the M1-A2 rebuild program. No new tanks are being built, the military is sending tanks to the Lima Ohio plant mentioned by John, to be completely refurbished and upgraded. Essentially after this process the tank is considered brand new according to the documentary. There were no shattered hulks, just front line vehicles coming in for a face lift. 18. Why would it be original? Do you think we are dopey enough to think that these troopers are the first ever to flip a photog the bird? Check out "Caeser's Commentaries" there is a wood carving of a Tribune flipping the bird to a Roman Senator on an inspection tour of Gaul.
  19. If you do a little research you will find that a lot of those pictures were taken during the initial Thunder Runs into Baghdad in the beginning of the war. Especially the very first one which IIRC was hit by RPGs fired off the overpass which caused the tank to catch fire. A big enough IED will certainly take out a tank, especially the EFP type.
  20. I am just concerned that lately we have become quick to rush to judgements based on video clips, sound bites, and the testimony of unreliable people, both in and out of positions of responsibilty. We see and hear what we want to see and hear, and I just urge folks to use a bit of circumspection.
  21. I don't get the "non-threatening" thing...we have no context from this video other than the fact that a few rounds of small arms and then a missle of some kind is fired at a moving "something" in the distance. For all we know this is a training exercise. Lets suppose this is either in Iraq or Afghanistan. Both are war zones, again we dont know the context. Maybe this "truck" contains some bad guys that this squad has been tracking, maybe they just rushed a checkpoint. How do you define "non-threatening". A car bomb is non threatening until it blows up in your face. If something is ID'd as legitimate hostile, even if its running away, I would advocate taking it out by any means, rather than letting it get away to come back again.
  22. Absolutely. That would have been my weapon of choice for that situation. Perfect weapon for the job. BTW...I am unfamiliar with LiveLeak but when I watched the video, after it I saw links come up to other videos. One was of a 12year old Afghani boy who beheads a man suspected of helping the US. Although it was labelled as "censored" I started to watch it but then just couldn't watch it when I saw the boy with the blade in his hand and the blindfold go over the poor man. Did anyone else see it? Not many things disturb me but this kind of stuff just makes me sick and sorry for how ##@#ed up this world is. Lt Bull </font>
