Today’s news broadcasts says that the fires are burning from Santa Barbara to the Mexican border. I resided in So. Ca. for many years and I grew accustomed to the bad fires that always accompany the Santa Ana winds this time of year as (I guess) most others did as well. I have driven under flames that were licking across a narrow twisting 2-lane mountain road getting out of Idyllwild while the forestry service trucks were coming up the same road. I have also seen my son evacuate his family from their home in Big Bear but these fires are becoming huge in area! </font>

Maybe you should wait for the California fires to burn out....starting fires in your neck of the woods may suck the flames northward.

I am the other half of stikkypixie's nightmare. It first happened to me when the file numbers would not increment. i.e. saved file name XXXX028.ema would stay at 28 and not go to 30 after I completed my turn. I had to manually re-number the file before sending back.

I have never stopped playing CMAK and CMBB, they are the greatest computer tactical war games IMO.

The answer seems simple enough...if you lack other means of transport, or you have some compelling reason, i.e. getting your ass out of some really bad situation, you're going to hop on a tank. It does not mean that it is or is not a training doctrine used by one side or the other. The Syrians seem to have loads of BMPs and the like, would they really ride on their tanks as part of their regular training? Maybe...like I said I think that the particular situation would dictate it, and it probably does not happen as much today as it did in past conflicts, so BFC left it out. BTW US Marines will ride on anything in order to avoid walking any distance
