  1. OH man, that is soooooooo cool!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could see the video.
  2. All I have to say is that the sky in that screenie looks downright awesome.
  3. I must say, people really do get way too testy in defense of the makers of this game... Sorry if it pisses you ultra-BTS loyalists off, but people paid over 50 dollars for each one of these games. What does that mean, you ask? It means they pay the salaries of the workers of BTS. It also means they can critisize the game all they want. Thus, they don't need 5000 cyber-debate-club-members immediately coming to their defense... the money is all the defense they need. Also (and I can't believe I'd ever say this about a smiley), the roll-eyes smiley is, in a way, condescending and lame. I don't think you should put it at the end of all of your posts (and you, in this case, is anyone who does that). Then again, you're entitled to do whatever you want. anyways, that's the end of my rant. [ October 07, 2002, 03:06 AM: Message edited by: Lee_DiSantis ]
  4. I think historically it was recorded that schurtzen drastically reduced the number of hits on tracks (which would immobilize the tank) and suspension (same thing). Don't know about you, but few things piss me off more than an immobile tank in Cmbo (especially when they're out of LOS of the battle, so they're just gooney, impotent fools).
  5. Perhaps you're good at playing other humans in CMBO? Well, then I officially challenge any who would like to show they have some cursed guts to play me. Come on, I want someone good. Now. Dammit. Promises to be a violent clash to the bitter bloody and intestine-emptying end.
  6. And by the way, I don't care that this isn't on the opponent finder forum, because no one ever goes there.
  7. You know, I don't really know much about that technical stuff... I believe my processor is somewhere in the range of a Pentium II 500 Megaglugelz or whatever, and as far as the video card and HD go, I don't have a clue.
  8. OW I JUST BANGED MY HEAD REALLY HARD ON A NAIL-COVERED CEILING. The preceding was a demonstration of proper caps use. HOLY CRAP IT'S RICHARD SIMMONS, RUN. Etc...
  9. I have an IBM thinkpad laptop, and every time I try to begin a battle, it freezes on the screen that says 'loading 3-d graphics'. however, when i restart my computer, it always works. what is the deal? it's annoying to have to turn off my comp and turn it on again just to play.
  10. I think I'll play whatever says 'Kursk'...and by the way, that will be after the unstoppable Patriots rout the lowly Chiefs.
  11. I don't know if any of you guys had the game 'Panzer Commander' (it wasn't really that great), but I remember having some pretty cool battles in the '45 campaigns where you'd have a King Tiger platoon going up against a couple IS-III platoons...it was quite fun! In my opinion the King Tiger was a superior design, but of course the lack of a powerful enough engine hampered it. [ September 15, 2002, 03:27 PM: Message edited by: Lee_DiSantis ]
  12. I don't know what an SSN, Knigget, or Old One is, and for some reason I don't feel bad about it at all.
  13. Seems like some of the guys in here need a reminder: This is an online forum. If you take it seriously enough that you start actually arguing with people, you should reconsider the medium. Just talk about relevant things, and don't try to insult each other (even with subtle undertones). There's no point; no one can win an online argument. It's these kinds of things that makes me start to dislike the internet.
  14. I've gotta say, I'm impressed with the fact that the battlefront.com guys actually come in here and mix it up with the peons...most companies would never bother to do that. Even though I've never communicated directly with an administrator, I appreciate the simple fact that they're here and observing. Now, to one small bit of criticism: I know that you've explained this before probably, but I have to ask: Where the campaigns at??? Every time I play these games, I lament the fact that there isn't a campaign option. Why? Because fighting with the same guys (who gain experience and skill over time) would just be so damn cool! One more thing that irks me for some reason: the fact that all of the objects like trees or rocks or things like that are really just 2 2-D images in a cross that turn with you when you rotate the view. I don't know why, but that annoys me. Anyways, thanks for being here and interacting and for coming out with games good enough that people will actually take time to go online and get worked up about them...you must smile about that every time. 15. If you guys are talking about the 'ancient riverbed' in the Citadel scenario, I'm having a problem too...it's all white and boxy! It looks very similar to problems that occasionally occurred in CMBO. I wish I could have beat the scenario w/out losing a tank, but I lost 3...oh well.
  16. Well, I beat it, but only after my lead tank was taken out...god, those green russian troops are wusses. I tried to human wave three infantry platoons and they all hit the deck after about 3 seconds. I've played all of the scenarios now, and damn I must say...that was a blast! Beat them all, too...that Citadel one is quite fun from the German side. So is the one where you defend...I did an en masse ambush on a huge amount of Russian conscripts and sent them home to their mamas. Hell yeah!
  17. Want to know something funny? I was such a dork in my earlier years (actually, 4 years ago) that I wrote a ten page paper on the battle of Kursk for freshman english in high school. It was actually a pretty good paper, and i think i got an A. Ever since I did the research for that paper, I've been fascinated by Ferdinands. That's one of the main reasons I'm so excited for CMBB; though I'm not sure I'm so psyched for the Soviet infantrymen climbing on and destroying them because Hitler forgot to put machine guns on the things. If I were to make any addition to this conversation, it would be this: no matter what the details were, the battle of Kursk was essentially lost by the Germans (Hitler, really) before it began. The Soviets had far too many resources for the Germans to be throwing away their last viable panzer arm in a massed frontal attack. Given the excessive head's up the Soviet's had, the outnumbered Germans (though using far superior equipment man to man) never had any hope. The only conclusion one can come to is that Hitler was a dumbass. The eastern war could have been won in '41, but god forbid he send some coats to his men... It's ok, I'm currently quite happy with the results of WWII. Unhappy with the perpetual stupidity of man. And unhappy with our perpetual eagerness to destroy each other.
