Hi Marshall Ney, For your game was the surrender not due to the National Morale situation of your enemies and not necessarily the objective model? Hubert -
Axis Raider Bug
Hubert Cater replied to Baron's topic in Strategic Command - World War 1: The Great War 1914-1918
If I remember correctly the only reason we did not include the port was because it would then knock out the entire convoy if the port dips below strength 5. I believe in the past that we had explosions or messages indicating a successful raid, is this no longer the case? I honestly can't remember off hand as I think we might have turned off some of this in the code.... I'll have to double check. -
New Features
Hubert Cater replied to Hubert Cater's topic in Strategic Command - World War 1: The Great War 1914-1918
Hi Amadeus, I double checked the OPTIONS screen where these messages will appear and as far as I can tell the messages are being displayed correctly. I can see how it may be confusing as some options need to be enabled while others are disabled to improve AI speed but I unfortunately don't see a good way around that. Hope this helps, Hubert -

Spotting rules
Hubert Cater replied to lettowvorbeck's topic in Strategic Command - World War 1: The Great War 1914-1918
Those are mostly for aesthetics while some have towns and ports and if that is the case then they will spot if friendly held. -

AI Report
Hubert Cater replied to Hyazinth von Strachwitz's topic in Strategic Command - World War 1: The Great War 1914-1918
Agreed, this is really good feedback HvS and exactly the kind of thing that helps me to narrow down what to focus on for improvement. For number 3, I can say that this has most likely been addressed as we've implemented some changes for how subs attack and defend. -
AI Report
Hubert Cater replied to Hyazinth von Strachwitz's topic in Strategic Command - World War 1: The Great War 1914-1918
Thanks for the feedback HvS, some really good insight here and I'll see what we can do to continue to improve the AI -
Hi John, Welcome to the forums This sounds like it may have been related to a bug we saw in the initial release version of the game which was fixed in our first patch. Can you let us know if you downloaded and installed the first patch or if you are already running v1.01? If you are still running v1.00 then you can download the patch from here under the Strategic Command WWI The Great War category: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_versions&Itemid=317 Hubert

Thanks Jackharry, much appreciated

Hi Jackharry, The video acceleration option was a video card toggle we introduced to simply have the video card load all the bitmaps into software memory instead of video memory which seems to have the game run smoother or more specifically quicker. This is now just the default setting for the newer releases which is why you don't see it as an option in WWI. Glad to hear you got the games running and I hope you enjoy your games Hubert

1.02 Patch???
Hubert Cater replied to FatherOfSeventeen's topic in Strategic Command - World War 1: The Great War 1914-1918
Just a quick FYI that FatherOfSeventeen/Madwoman is a well known troll on these forums simply using a new forum username and has been subsequently banned. -
1.02 Patch???
Hubert Cater replied to FatherOfSeventeen's topic in Strategic Command - World War 1: The Great War 1914-1918
We are pairing the release of the v1.02 patch with the free WWII campaign so it is unfortunately taking a bit longer than we thought... but rest assured we are still working on this and hopefully it will not be much longer. -
Sorry guys, it is taking a bit longer than we originally thought but only because we are putting in extra time and effort to make sure it is a good one. I realize I am of course biased, but if I can speak on behalf of everyone involved, this is going to be a REALLY good one when it is all said and done and I doubt many will be disappointed if at all.

No problem and I'm glad to hear it

SC2 Blitzkrieg on Windows 7 - installation
Hubert Cater replied to Nero's Cat's topic in Strategic Command Tech Support Forum
Hi Nero's Cat, There is just a Windows 7 security precaution that pretty much just prompts you to confirm every installation that you are about to perform on your system. Long story short is that Windows 7 doesn't know about the installation setup file so it is just warning you that installing this program may make some changes which is true, the installation file installs the game on your computer and nothing more. Essentially it is perfectly fine to accept and continue with the installation regarding the SC2 installation files. Hope this helps, Hubert -
Hi Nero's Cat, If you look within your installation directory for Weapons and Warfare you should see a file called 'Manual.pdf'. Alternatively, if you navigate to your 'Programs' group shortcuts for the Weapons and Warfare installation you should be able to find a link for it there as well. For example, Start->Programs->Battlefront->Strategic Command Weapons and Warfare->Manual Hope this helps, Hubert

Different Levels

Yes, essentially all levels below the level you are playing should fire but of course not the other way around. -
Editor problems saving custom .cgn file
Hubert Cater replied to DaveJRum's topic in Strategic Command 1
Perhaps they were saved in the virtual folder, please take a look at the following link to see how Windows uses virtual folders and how to access the files: http://www.hanselman.com/blog/VistasShowCompatibilityFilesAndTheScrumptiousWonderThatIsFileVirtualization.aspx
