  1. I would like to make a request. I have before but I want to see the response. If you like the idea and would want something like this Please just put a positive response so that The programmers here might think they can make money on it. Here is the basic Idea that is completely free to use. A Second level to the CM game. This second level will control Divisional or Battalion level movement. This Second level will also keep track of composition of the various units in this campaign and automaticly create a battle based upon the units involved and the terrain being played. I made something on paper very similiar for a board game called Warhammer Epic. My opponent and I would play small battles that did not take long to play because there were not alot units involved but because you had to fight again you would not put troops into a suicide charge. What I would like to see is a basic hex based strategic level. You would then have you units what ever size is feesible that you would place and move on the Stregic battlefield and then when your unit was going to make contact the second level game would make a CM sceneario based upon the units involved and the map. After the battle is fought the SecondLevel game would calculate the end of battle situation. Who controls the area, What units are still workable, what units gained experience, etc. The game would also need a quick resolve method also. An example of a turn. I move the 4th Battalion into a Hex that contains a village. I also designate how much air power I will use on this battle. I also move 6th Battalion and the 1st Battalion in Flanking positions. The game decides that I made contact with the Russian 2nd Battalion dug in to the Village being attacked by the 4th Battalion. I get a selection to fight or automaticly resolve the attack by the 4th Battalion. I choose to fight. The game automaticly makes a scenario setting up the units involved and the creating the map(or using a prestored map of that terrain) I play the battle and I Breach the russian defences and have a decieve Victory I gain control of the hex and the russian unit retreats. The Russian player then counter attacks my postion and I again play over the same territory but this time I am the defender. At the end of the turn the game takes stock of what has been lossed and makes adjustment to the armys for the next Strategic turn. Well If you would like something like this just say "that sounds good" and maybe we could get something like this. I like using lots of units but the game bogs down. This way I could still lead large units but just alittle a time.
  2. The only way to truely stop the trend of the rich get rich and the poor get poorer, then the poor get a welfare state. Is to discourage corporations from laying off workers. Because I may get a product cheaper for the corporation now layed off 1000 people. I will now pay for it in higher taxes since not everyone that was layed off will get a good job. This also causes labor cost to go down. The guy making 40K a year will need money to eat much earlier then the guy who makes multi millions. Sad but true. My plan to halt this rapid descent into oblivion of a two teared society is to give benefits for actual employee salaries. Not so much to constitute them being there even if they do nothing but enough that its better to keep them then risk having to hire them(or contractors) back later. So they can claim 110% of the base salary on taxes. Get it? Next plan is that place the largest tax breaks in the middle(small to medium Business). Since the whole 8% saving rate for trickle down economics to work is actually an average of the whole. The person pulling in 30mil is not saving only 8% he will save 50%(non-business investments). As you go down the chain the percent of savings goes down. Till at the end where they don't save a dime. Just do the math. And instead of using 8% all the way down the trickle down chain use a varing rate. Start at 50% and take a few percentage points of each leg. See what level it should be at. There has to be a way to put the money in the hands of the low to middle guy with out making being rich undesirable(very highly taxed). In saying that Any socialist society will eventually fail. Some safty catchs are good. Unemployment, Some welfare, and Oh Sh*t programs. They give people a sence of secruity and allow them to spend money instead of hoarding it. P.S. savings is money kept in dead accounts. Even though the bank uses your money for loans the money is essentially dead.
  3. I have been working on pattern recognition AI that would help in the AI world. I was able to create an AI that learned to play blackjack by both remebering what it did last time the situation came up (if the exact situation has come up before). It will also look for similiar situations and then use the same strategy it used then in the new situation and then store that situation in memory for next time. I think a more challenging AI could be made I just wish I could build an AI for a war game and have someone else handle all the graphic crap that I am just no good at handling. I have lots of ideas and frameworks built but I need to apply that two a game that has an open AI. Oh well. If you want the BlackJack game tell me and I will send you the code if you are so interested.

  5. I too am a vetern of the high command days or HiCom. The reason I see for not including the armour units is simple. 1. Hexs are too big in scale 2. No unit staking. These two things are my biggest pet peives about the game. Doctrinally the allies did not form huge units of armour and concentrate them in multi-divisional units. The germans did. If the hexs were smaller in scale(more hexs on the board) and there was the ablitity to unit stake then the french should have some more armour but as the game plays I think it is pretty accurate.
  6. So does anyone know how to take these files apart and put them back together again. I was looking at the cmb file in a hex editor and it still doesn't make sence like its encrypted. I want to create a program that will make various battles based on a shell program that would similate campaigns. If you guys have any idea how they are put together or if someone else figured out an automated battle maker besides the quick battle maker. Just wasting your time Dan
  7. Quick Question. Is there a way to moddify the units actual values besides those in the screens provided(ammo, Morale etc..). Is there a way to include your own models? Modify existing ones. I haven't found any files that look like sometype of 3d models so I guess they somehow hard coded it into the exe.
