  1. It still has the old effects from Blitzkrieg, i.e. to help your research along versus what your enemy might have etc.
  2. Resource AA only applies to Bombers since Bomber upgrades can counter the effects with higher strategic attack values, that and Bombers can strike at a resource even if there is a unit above it. The other air types, tacs and fighters do not have this capability but the introduction of the mobile AA unit helps in this regard, as does general interception with properly placed fighters. Tacs can become a powerful unit but as mentioned they can be hindered by weather and with the role now separated from fighters you usually need to spend more MPPs to have a balanced, researched and upgraded Tac and Escort force... something that was not generally necessary in regular Blitzkrieg. With that being said it is still too early to say if any changes are really needed, good points all around mind you, but I would be hesitant to make any changes before more games are played through. Note, the hidden Engineers and Paratroops have already been fixed for the first patch.
  3. If Vichy was not 100% then it definitely will not trigger, try setting it to 0% and this will help unless of course you expect Vichy to be fully active for the script to trigger. Also the bug has to do with this line: #CONDITION_POSITION= 70,27 [0,0] [1,1] [1] [5] Change this to the following and it will work for now but of course not be a problem after the first patch: #CONDITION_POSITION= 70,27 [0,0] [1,1] [1] [0]
  4. John, did Paris drop well below 5? If so and if you are using rail as the connection for resource supply then your surrounding resources will not go above 5 until Paris > 5. Also this only applies if Paris is the main resource supply hub etc.
  5. #TYPE= 2 is not generally needed as you only need a country to surrender once. The error Bill encountered with a #TYPE= 2 event was, as far as I could tell, an anomaly in AI vs. AI games... i.e. not something most gamers will encounter. ebitt, why don't you post your surrender_2 event and maybe we can spot what the problem is? Note, I have fixed a surrender_2 script interpretation error for the first patch and can suggest a workaround if this is indeed the problem you are encountering but I'll need to see your event to know for sure.
  6. This is the catch and I think we'd be lucky to have everyohe agree upon what is essential and what is not.
  7. Here is an updated EXE that should resolve this issue in the future for you: http://www.furysoftware.com/download/SC2_WaW.zip This is just a Beta v1.01 but will eventually become part of the first patch. All you need to do is decompress the file and simply copy over the EXE into your installation directory. NOTE: This file applies only to the Engish Battelfront release of the game. Hope this helps, Hubert [ November 25, 2007, 06:26 AM: Message edited by: Hubert Cater ]
  8. David, the first patch will include an updated set of Expansion notes since as you mentioned a few items were unfortunately missed.
  9. David, The general manual for SC2 comes with the Blitzkrieg installation of the game. If you ordered a hard copy of Blitzkrieg then you should also have received a physical manual. If not then there is also a PDF Manual that is included in the Bltizkrieg installation. For the latest Blitzkrieg Manual in PDF form you will need to have v1.08 installed. If this is not installed you need to download the v1.08 Bltizkrieg patch. The PDF manual can be found in your SC2 Blitzkrieg installation folder and can also be accessed via the Program Group links for the game. Weapons and Warfare does not come with a printed manual but does come with a PDF Manual that is essentially a set of notes explaining the major differences and updates to the Weapons and Warfare expansion. This can also be found in your installation folder or accessed via the Program Group links for the game. Hope this helps, Hubert
  10. Tread Head, Some campaigns are mods themselves and use custom bitmaps, localization text etc. Each campaign found in the 'Campaigns' directory has a campaign name as well as a campaign subfolder. For example: Campaigns\1939-46 WW2 Global Conflict.cgn Campaigns\_1939-46 WW2 Global Conflict All you need to do is copy over the following files and directories from the original campaign subfolder to the edited and saved campaign subfolder: campaign.ini localization.txt Bitmaps Interface Then reload the campaign and it will work as expected. Hubert
  11. xwormwood, unfortunately there are just too many options to include in the default game setup whereas the Editor makes things much cleaner when it comes to making major changes to the campaigns.
  12. John, Originally we did have some bad weather possibilities during summer months but they were removed for a couple of reasons. For one it was found that there was enough weather effects in the game to justifiy a period of 'bad weather' free turns and secondly since most major operations were conducted during (usually) the clearer summer months it was decided to leave the weather out to maximize game play.
  13. Oops, that is a bug JP, I will fix this for the first patch. Hubert
  14. Glad to hear you guys are enjoying the game and that the improvements have been this noticeable John, good to hear that the AI is giving you a challenge at the Expert level as it has been greatly improved in making use of those extra MPPs. David, sounds like some of the additional Axis OFFENSIVE script suggestions I included from Edwin P. have given you a run for your money in Russia! Happy gaming
  15. At the moment the only thing Thrawn can do is not include naval units in his minor setups that are not in Port and that should resolve the crash. But as mentioned this has been corrected on my end for the first patch and will correct this issue in the future as soon as it becomes available.
  16. Tread Head, SC2 most recent version is 1.08 WaW is version 1.0 Correct As mentioned above Weapons and Warfare is an expansion that builds upon the original SC2 game. Depending on your style of play, i.e. if it is against the AI I would suspect most would prefer to play Weapons and Warfare as the AI has been much improved. If it is Multiplayer some like Terif have mentioned that they would still probably prefer to play Blitzkrieg as it is a bit more open ended, less historically binding, and most likely a quicker game from start to finish as the rules are a little less complex, i.e. simplier weather and operation rules etc. On the other hand Weapons and Warfare appears to be quite popular in Multiplayer mode as well. It all comes down to choice and even for yourself you may prefer the new feature set available through Weapons and Warfare rather than playing the previously released Blitzkrieg. I should mention that SC2 Blitzkrieg also comes with a newly released Global campaign that at the moment Weapons and Warfare does not include. Hope this helps, Hubert
  17. voncasey, The SC2 Manual is the base rulebook for both games as Weapons and Warfare is simply an expansion built upon the original game. But as SeaMonkey described there is a PDF file that comes with Weapons and Warfare that outlines the major changes that apply to the new expansion.
  18. gravyface1, Each campaign found in the 'Campaigns' directory has a campaign name as well as a campaign subfolder. 19. Wolfpack, This error also came to my desk today and will be fixed for the first patch. Hubert
  20. william you might actually be right here, the port supply to land units was new for Bltizkrieg and may not take into account a unit being fully surrounded by land and sea. I'll take a look.
  21. william if you completely surround a city then the max reinforcement for a unit tops out at strength = 5 which might help your situation.
  22. It might not as there will also be changes to how and when subs dive and move away (which was part of his bad luck) with the next patch, i.e. the new sub mode proposals, but I'll experiment with this with the testers and see how it goes before we release the official patch. As mentioned the *fix* is simply to reduce the extra bonus applied to suprise combat, in Ludi's case the surprised Destroyers, but you are correct that the player is still responsible for the proper state of his units, i.e. applicable research levels etc. otherwise he will still suffer from skewed results as he logically should.
