  1. Not really sure what the problem might be emf, I just downloaded it and ran it in the Editor and everything ran fine... I am on XP as well. Are you sure you put both the campaign file and the subdirectory in the 'Campaigns' folder?
  2. IIRC there is an issue with how Vista saves/loads files when not running as an Administrator. Can you guys try this: 1. Right clicking the Editor shortcut 2. Selecting Properties 3. On the Shortcut tab selecting advanced 4. Then selecting the run as administrator checkbox.
  3. Ghostrider 3/3, Glad to hear the AI gave you a good run for your money and from Dave's response I think you can safely see you are in good hands with this campaign, i.e. not only with its design but also in terms of his responsiveness and willingness to listen to feedback. Good luck in your next set of battles! Hubert
  4. Hi Henri, Thanks for the feedback and of course sometimes these things are just a matter of perspective and different from player to player. Have you tried the 41 campaign in a multiplayer game to see if you can come up with similar results favouring the Allies?
  5. Just adding a comment from a similar and recent email response, see below. The convoy was essentially added to reflect the eventual investment and transfer of oil resources to the US. It also gives a reason for players to fight over Saudi Arabia. Again this is all hypothetical, i.e. since in real life Saudi Arabia was never invaded and the major investments happened after the war so it is really just a matter of reflecting what may have happened if it history was changed by player actions. For example, if players do not invest diplomatically in Saudi Arabia or if they do not invade Saudi Arabia then everything remains as it was historically.
  6. Hi Big Al, Glad to hear you like the game and welcome to the forums Hubert
  7. dgold07, They already are reduced in time, i.e. those with an asterik '*' beside the name are not only cheaper but will be built in IIRC 60% the normal build time.
  8. william, Supply is a general formula that for the most part plays pretty well throughout the SC series and without complicated rules etc., i.e. for your example HQs also double in role as a sort of supply wagon (or the equivalent of a mobile supply source) so it would be tricky to enforce a rule where an HQ is in a bad situation and should have no supply versus a situation where it has just over extended its regular supply lines. For example, and still using your situation, since we do not have mulberries a landed HQ during an amphibious invasion provides supply for assaulting units and therefore the HQ is able to reinforce under this rule/condition.
  9. CanuckGamer, This is a Weapons and Warfare patch only and does not have any effect on Blitzkrieg nor require any Blitzkrieg patches to run properly.
  10. The patch is compatible with saved games in progress, meaning you can continue them and the new game mechanics and bug fixes should function accordingly, but any campaign changes will not take effect until you start a new campaign.
  11. Thanks Timskorn and the beta testers really did do a great job, in fact, making this (as you noticed) one of our smoothest releases to date Hubert
  12. BvB, Sorry, just saw this now... I would suggest trying to update your video card drivers and see if that helps as Vista is a bit picky with games such as SC2. Hope this helps, Hubert
  13. This thread no longer applies as patch v1.01 has been released.
  14. Nope, no need to transfer MODS at all with this patch as everything is fully compatible with v1.00. In fact I have a new behind the scenes process that for 90% of future patches the conversion will be automatically done behind the scenes when you re-open the campaign with an updated Editor. There may be a few exceptions but during final Beta we went through a few of these processes and it all went smoothly.
  15. Thrawn, Great stuff and that naval unit bug should be fixed with the v1.01 patch that came out today.
  16. dgold07, The 41 campaign essentially tries to recreate the historical OOBs plus or minus a few units for the current scale of the game. Now as for why there might be a discrepency it is difficult to say as it would take quite a few games before you could definitely say for sure that there is a mismatch between the 41 campaign and what you might possibly achieve with the 39 scenario. For example, depending on your research developments you may have more Soviet MPPs available via IT research etc., as well as factors such as which countries the Germans have invaded and DoW upon as this has an affect on Soviet readiness which directly links to the number of MPPs received per turn.
  17. Henri, I'm also glad to see that you got a nice challenge from the AI and all I can suggest is to keep at it as I am sure once the game mechanics become more familiar, i.e. partisan positions, combined arm assaults etc., and with the right strategies you will soon be able to find victory as the Germans in the '41 campaign. For testing purposes I also decided to take the '41 campaign for a quick run through (as it has been quite some time since I have played SC2) and seemed to come up with similar results as Rannug for the first year or so of game play. For example, I managed to capture Leningrad and Alexandria by late '41 with Cairo falling in early '42 and Moscow soon to fall by probably summer '42 as well. There are some good tips here and with the new patch now available I think you will like some of the changes once capitals have been captured and moved, i.e. the new morale loss calculations and so on... good luck! Hubert
  18. scottsmm, Some campaigns are mods themselves and use custom bitmaps, localization text etc. Each campaign found in the 'Campaigns' directory has a campaign name as well as a campaign subfolder. For example: Campaigns\1939-46 WW2 Global Conflict.cgn Campaigns\_1939-46 WW2 Global Conflict All you need to do is copy over the following files and directories from the original campaign subfolder to the edited and saved campaign subfolder: campaign.ini localization.txt Bitmaps Interface Then reload the campaign and it will work as expected. Hubert
  19. JP Wagner, The second error message is in fact a game error message and one that can be resolved. The likely cause of this error is that one of your sprite files is incorrect in some way. For example, it might not be the right size in terms of width and height dimensions. This can happen with old mods converted to the new WaW engine as some of the older sprite files are incompatible. I would check items such as the 'activation_sprites.bmp' and make sure they correspond in size to the newer versions of these files in WaW. Hope this helps, Hubert
  20. Yes the above link only applies to the English Battlefront version of the game. First patch should be avaiable shortly though.
  21. Goodwood, I believe you have to create a new login, i.e. username and password, for the purchase pages. Hope this helps, Hubert
