  1. sargeweaver, Thanks for the saved game file and I see it is for a custom campaign... taking a look now if it just a matter of this campaign being too large or if there was something included that I did not anticipate that is slowing things down.
  2. Hey William, Glad to see you are still at it and that the AI is giving you a decent challenge... looking forward to hearing about your conquests over the AI Hubert
  3. Yes the games will be compatible game mechanics wise but not in terms of actual campaign changes. For example, the new rule for roads giving better supply over rough terrain automatically takes effect, as does the automatic 'Defensive Fire!' for naval units against Amphibious Transports, but changes to the campaign map such as fixing the rail lines around Narvik will only take effect once you start a new campaign. Glad you like the changes
  4. Hey Pickle, Good catch and don't let these old farts scare you away Hubert
  5. sargeweaver, Is this for every turn or is it for one turn in particular? For example, if it is a repeatable autosave please send it my way as I can take a look. I would also suggest updating to the latest patch if you have not already done so. Send any applicable files to support@furysoftware.com Thanks, Hubert
  6. In some cases on Vista it saves files in the following directory: Drive:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Battlefront\Strategic Command 2 Weapons and Warfare Expansion\ This link explains the 'Compatibility Files' problem with people running Vista and not being able to see thier files: http://www.hanselman.com/blog/VistasShowCompatibilityFilesAndTheScrumptiousWonderThatIsFileVirtualization.aspx There are two known workarounds: 1) Disable Vista's User Access Control and then it should save the files as expected. 2) The other is that if you do not wish to disable UAC you can try and install the game into any other directory other than the Program Files directory. For example, C:\Games\Weapons and Warfare etc. If you do this it doesn't seem to redirect the files with UAC enabled. Hope this helps, Hubert
  7. sargeweaver, Very odd error and the first I've heard of it... does your turn play very slowly as well, i.e. the speed at which units move, the map scrolls etc.
  8. thierrydk, In some cases on Vista it saves files in the following directory: Drive:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Battlefront\Strategic Command 2 Weapons and Warfare Expansion\ This link explains the 'Compatibility Files' problem with people running Vista and not being able to see thier files: http://www.hanselman.com/blog/VistasShowCompatibilityFilesAndTheScrumptiousWonderThatIsFileVirtualization.aspx There are two known workarounds: 1) Disable Vista's User Access Control and then it should save the files as expected. 2) The other is that if you do not wish to disable UAC you can try and install the game into any other directory other than the Program Files directory. 9. Hi Jim, Just wanted to say thanks as well for your time spent on the comparison piece Hubert
  10. sargeweaver I posted a response in the Tech forums... locking this one up so the conversation can move over there.
  11. sargeweaver, Sounds like you meet the minimum specs. I would suggest upgrading your Video Card driver and installing the latest version of DirectX to see if that helps. Also try running the game in 16 bit mode which can be selected from the SETTINGS dialog to see if that helps. Hubert
  12. The Tac Bomber attack values assume ground targets and in this case the Air Attack value represents the striking power against Air units caught on the ground (after the typical interception), i.e. not in the air and thus the slightly higher initial value.
  13. gcgreen, Couple of things I would try such as running the game in the 16 bit video mode option. This can be accessed via the SETTINGS dialog in game, i.e. it looks like you are running the game at 1680x1050x32, try running it at 1680x1050x16. Also try updating your video card driver and installing the latest version of DirectX to see if that helps. I would also check to make sure you have enough video ram required to meet the minimum specs. Hubert
  14. Baron, I would suggest updating your Video Card drivers and see if that helps as some Video Cards still act a bit funny under Vista. Hubert
  15. Ok I found two workarounds... one is to disable Vista's User Access Control and then it should save the files as expected. The other is that if you do not wish to disable UAC you can try and install the game into any other directory other than the Program Files directory. For example, C:\Games\Weapons and Warfare etc. If you do this it doesn't seem to redirect the files with UAC enabled. Hope this helps, Hubert
  16. RobertC, Brillian mod... very nice work Can you send me an email at info@furysoftware.com? Thanks, Hubert
  17. feamaeg, Sorry to hear you have not been able to download the v1.08 patch from the French distributor. My suggestion is to get in touch directly with them, publisher name is Anuman, in order to inquire on the latest patch availability. Hope this helps, Hubert
  18. H.J. von Arnim, This is a common error if the SC2 application loses primary control of the Video Card... this can happen if let's say a screensaver kicks in or if another application steals control. Is any of this a possibility? Hubert
  19. I'll change this so that if the Axis DoW on Norway then this event will not trigger.
  20. sargeweaver, can you try updating your video card driver and installing the latest version of directX to see if that helps? Hubert
  21. MajorRH, I think if you run as an Administrator this is not an issue... can you confirm?
  22. Karhu, I have a railway running from Narvik to Lulea but just forgot to connect that mine right next to Narvik as well. EDIT: The road was simply added for gameplay reasons. [ December 10, 2007, 01:57 PM: Message edited by: Hubert Cater ]
