  1. well, now heck. where's that communal rope used fer hangin'? it might not be pro, but just a model, sans texture, would be 'nough , right? that noob, er canon feller...or mebbe one of them frenchies could mod them on up. heck, mebbe GEM could finish his margarita, fly back from vacation, and spit some out, real quick like. just the models, gents (thas right, all of 'em!). i'm sure we can finish the rest. is that askin' too much? ('hic, one more beer and it's lights out fer this feller)
  2. VERY nice Mr. G! I do like the offset skirts. REALLY gives it an air of realism and "being there". Mebbe even options w/ missing panels, perhaps? I just upped my video card to a GForce3. I am a very happy camper now. Can you say modding whore? Yes, "upping" your video is worth every penny.
  3. Very nice, L! Is is possible to include versions without the red star? Options, baby, options!
  4. Mebbe I'm beating a dead horse here, but has there been an estimate on when this patch will be out? I'm getting ancy for new models and textures and schtuff, mmmmmmmmK? Can you feel my pain? TYSM,
  5. hmmm, that could work! i think you and canon are on the right track. each modder has his own thread, and updates accordingly. that way, we only have a handful of threads to try and keep up with. still, it'd be nice to have all the mod threads in a slow forum, so as to keep things on one page. one can dream, yes?
  6. Well, i just had an idear. Howz 'bout all the "new" mod posts go into one thread, say in the tech support forum. slow forum, and easy to get to. once a thread is full, start a new one and keep it going. Since the forum is slow, the thread will stay on the first page longer, and the history of MOD posts will be able to stay within the first few pages of the forum. One could simply go to cmmods.com, but i like reading feedback before I grab a mod. Whaddaya think?
  7. Hi there- I was just gonna post and ask what a good card to get was. I love this forum! One more Q. What's a good brand of GeForce MX440? I see a bunch on pricewatch, but am not familiar w/ the brands. Cheap is good, but not always best, right? Any suggestions? Thanks!
  8. One more time, for holiday cheer... Soviet Posters Some samples: Anyone else got any good ones?
  9. oops... wrong forum...that's what i get for staying up late...

  11. Hey! You said you were taking a break! Oh, right..from allied vehicles....got it... Great stuff, as usual, Senor N. I will be extremely nitpicky and ask for more details on the vechicle. i keep thinking of fernando's vehicle mods for cmbo, and how incredibly detailed they were..um, are..uh...i mean...uh, well, y'know what i mean, right?
  12. A valid point. If they freeze, men may be harder to kill, but they're not necessarily a threat either (routed troops not in CinC aren't gonna do any fighting anytime soon). Seems we all can go back an forth on this a few times, with all points being valid. Mebbe the rewrite can model *variable* behavior for routed troops. Some squads run, some freeze (and take additional casualites due to men "breaking"), some do a little of both. Maybe there's the chance for "broken" men within the squad to rally, etc. It'd be neat to see broken squads turn into split squads, w/ each team exhibiting different behavior. Now try and rally that unit without it's HQ unit! Ouch! Hmm..that'd be more computing power, wouldn't it? dang. gonna have to upgrade.
  13. Though i agree the engine could use some tweaking (no simulation is perfect (it is, after all, a *simulation*), irratonal behavior under fire would seem to be quite common. not sure? next chance you get, have some friends take a few shots at you w/ a .22 and see how you feel. a little uncomfortable, maybe? now up the anty for seasoned troops and a high volume of incoming fire, and i'll bet no matter where they are, once theirs nerves are shot, all concept of "thinking clearing" is right out the window. hell, i've seen guys lock up (y'know, freeze, with that chick-out-of-the-egg look, all bug-eyed 'n 'stuff) during *training* ...with blanks! these were men in my squad...men i was supposed to trust my life with. can't imagine what those same guys would have done under real fire. i'm glad i didn't have to find out! so, yeah it would be nice for our little pixel troops to do the "right thing" (this game can be *quite* frustrating!). unfortunately, combat is not pretty.
  14. Oh mama, mama, mama!   Now *that* is a what a whitewashed vehicle in the field needs to look like...well, that is, if it's been in the field for more than a day! Yes, please please please CMMOS compliant.... ...and how many hookers do we have to chip in for to get some axis vehicles done up like this? Now, if i may be a demanding bastich: Back to work wit you! ps- did i say thank you?
  15. *pours beer, raises it to screen* Here's to you, GEM. Enjoy yer break, have a cold one, and feel confident you've improved the recreational activities of many, many people. Now get us those damn Panthers, mmmmmmK? Old modders never die, they just keep on modding.
  16. No. CMMM is new and about to be released. It has nothing to do with CMMOS. CMMM will manage any bitmap or wav file for Combat Mission (BB or BO).</font>
  17. um, what happened to pawbroon? Mods & Modders
  18. *Very* well done. I'm at a loss which one to use! Any interest in showing the arrows going the other way...toward the west? ...or maybe a split pic in the 2nd one, with a pic of JS/ISU's in Berlin?
  19. Here's some more I put up for M.D. http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=001127;p=2
  20. Just dorking around, but it seems green Panthers don't do well vs. veteran T-34/76's! I'm running in 1600x1200, so the text will prolly be hard to read in the pics.... 21. Fair enough. My apologies if I offended anyone. I've been self employed too long, and have had my share of folks jumping on my ass when situations aren't perfect. Perspective is an amazing thing. In my experience, I've settled on two courses of action when something doesn't work out: 1. If the people who made the mistake work *with* you, then by all means cut them some slack. 2. But should they not, then by all means bring out the shotgun and cut them in half!
  22. Well, heck, my CD is dorking too. Win98SE PIII 600EB 256 mb RAM 60 gb drive (seperate from OS drive) Will get you specifics in the AM. And for all you whiners out there, I kindly request that you to shut yer hole. There's the saying "**** happens", and, yes, it sure does. The trick is how folks deal with things when **** *does* happen. So far, BFC seems to be on the ball. I can still play the game in it's entirety, and will soon have a replacement CD *at no extra cost* (maybe we'll even get lucky and it'll have the .01 update on it). Go start a manufacturing operation, run it for a couple of years, then get back to the board and tell us how *everything* *always* went smoothly. We'll be waiting.....
