  1. Thank you JasonC, that sounds like a solid tactic, scouting for a a zook with a squad of infantry would solve the 'counter ambush' problem. Leading a tank into a favorable position for the AT team also sounds solid, Ill try them out next time I play.
  2. Ive used Zooks and Shrecks well in a defensive role, hide them in a patch of woods or a building, along comes a thin skinned AFV... you know. But how does one go about using them on offense? Ive tried many differant methods to get them into a usefull position, but they always seem to be a step or two behind. Usually I keep them just behind the main body of a platoon, to back them up if they run into a AFV. I then try to sneak him around to flank it, but this doesnt work very often. Ive tried putting them on the backs of fast vehicles, Greyhounds, Pumas, whatever, and have them jump off if the forward scouts spot an AFV, then try the ol flank again. But what happens most often is that they are spotted getting into position, and the TacAI goes hogwild shooting them up(as I would if my butt was inside a tank) and the whole effort is wasted. Has anyone found a tried and true way to use these units on an attack?
  3. This will be cool to watch! Will you post screens as the game progresses? You and Redwolf might want to agree to not check eachothers posts, but it would be fun for a play-by-play and analysis. Oh yeah BTW, scale up the units a little, they're hard to discern. Thanks
  4. You know youve played too much CM when.... You want to call down artillery on that traffic jam in front of you. You try to flank that old lady for the last parking spot. You wonder if your in LOS of that cop car you just sped by. You argue insecently on wether or not the Bren had a freakin' tripod. You wonder what combat bonuses your boss has. You write a list of "You Know You've Played to Much CM When....".
  5. It would be somwhat simple to do I geuss. If the team doesnt get a kill with the second shot and they are taking fire, they book to a secure spot, if they are not taking fire, they stay and keep trying. If the hit % was say >50% or somthing, and they didnt kill with the third shot, they either re-hide, or relocate, but either way they hold fire. Just an idea for a solution.
  6. God, wouldnt that be great? I wouldnt mind a couple lil bugs here and there, the engine is stable enough. Im not Groggy enough to bitch about some angle on some slope on some armour being off a millimeter. I can imagine the thread now; Courduroy roads not Courduroy enough! and so on.

  8. I loved the demo scenarios so much! I must have played them countless times waiting for the full version to show up, and I want a rematch!! I cant remember the name of the scenario... its the one where theAmis have a few Sherms, like a company of inf. a few spotters.... The Germs had a couple of (at the time) BADASS bunkers, two 75s and a MG. Ive been wracking my brain trying to remember the name, and Ive scoured my scenario list a million times, but I cant find it. Its NOT Chance Encounter, but the other one. Please help me remember!!
  9. Yes!!! I bet Manx is gearing up to host CMBB mods and other goodies, kinda like CMHQ but Manx style. This would free up Madmatt so he can tease and tickle us with his little comments about things in CMBB.
  10. I did a search (it worked!!) and found alot of threads on this topic. There was much arguing back and forth from both sides, but I couldnt find one with an official BTS response, so does anyone know if it is in for CMBB? Ive read all the arguments for and against this so just a yes or no is all I really need. Thanks.

  13. They always seem to be the first armored units to bite it, but I have had some luck with em. Just be a sneaky bastard, use them for long range flank shots, and hope for the best. The best performance Ive ever gotten was somthing like 4 sherms and a few halftacks out of a vet PzIV, he was toasted by a sneaky greyhound a few turns later.
  14. Im also willing to pay, Ive spent alot of time cruisin around that site,its my top CM site, and Im sure thats the case for many. I also like the suggestion of dumping the old mods, pretty much every lo-res one at least. This is sad news Manx, Im sorry those corporate bastards have got us all by the short and curlies, they must not play CM. Let me know if I can help. I vote for a pay site( never would've thought Id say THAT!)the more people do, the cheaper it becomes. But, taking your own private RL into consideration, a pay site would demand more attention, so its your call of coarse.

  17. Ahhh-HAAA! I always liked the greyhound...Thanks! Anything like a double kill happen? Ive only seen this once,where two units firing at eachother kill eachother at the same time.
  18. I played a LAN game against my roomate about a month ago, after having a discussion on this matter. On a randomly generated map I had a company of veteran SS and a company of regular pioneers, going up against 5 vanilla M4s, 3 TDs, and 3 Stuarts, no infantry. We just wanted to see how this turned out. The first 5 minutes were the only ones that I could 'out manuvre'(sp) the AFVs, because he rushed to a open field and made a sort of wagon train, with LOS 360 degrees. Luckily, a faust tagged a TD from behind-pure luck. It was slaughter. I had no choice but to rush the group, I came from 3 directions with everything that wasnt pinned, ordering everyone to move in and fire. I was able to get the equvelant of a platoon in between the tanks, and surround them, but my men were being cut down and blown up, it was like an auger in that mess of action. Anyways, all said and done, I was able to knock out all the TDs, 3 of the sherms, and all but one of the stuarts. My roomie and I had a helluva time yelling taunts back and forth and spilling beer everywhere. All I had left was a tattering of broken troops, being mowed down as they ran. The only reason I think I was able to get that many tanks was the Vet SS, and my roomie being pretty new, as well as alot of dumb luck, lotsa luck. The TDs were all killed before anything else was, I saw alot of grenades tossed at them as soon as they were in range. I think, given the open top, they were hard to kill, but then again, if I was in that position, my aim would be off too. The shermans were immobilized, then abandoned, and man, bailing out of a tank with a bunch of crazy Germans running around, is not a good idea. I was particularly drunk that night, and took great satisfaction in seeing those crews get burned. This doesnt prove a thing, just an anectdote about whatcan happen in CM.
  19. 154 times?? I wish I had that much time... How about the Puma vs. Greyhound M4A1 vs. PzIV These are both common(IMO)matchups, how do they turn out? Oh, BTW, thanks!
