  1. "Certainly there is no modeling of the thin armour which penetration would lead to the loss of the flame capability." ....or the huge fiery explosion roasting everything around it.Thats way too bad.
  2. How does Friday Oct 26th sound? If you folks in Everett are still down, we can find a halfway point or somthing, but otherwise, I suggest the Pike. To the Tullys guy: Hotmail ate your E mail address, but Ill stop by or somthing, I work all around downtown, so I can stop in sometime
  3. Thanks commander! Those are really fun scenarios. I like specialized 'training' ones like that. My firt time out I creamed the Germs, second time, I was creamed by a single surviving Ubertank, what fun. Thanks for responding, this is a great community. 4. The site also mentions how the faust and shreck were used against infantry, but how effective would a shaped charge be against troops? I can see if you hit a tight bunch of troops dead on, that would certainly be messy, but as a area effect weapon, most of the force and shrapnel would go right into the ground wouldnt it? It would be cool to see that lil PzJager in action, even if its life span was short.
  5. I was putzin round the net and ran into this, its twords the bottom of the page. Whuddya think, is it in CMBB? PanzerJager Bren(e) and others. The Panzershreck launchet idea is very cool, I dont know how effective it would be tho...... [ 10-19-2001: Message edited by: Dogface21 ]
  6. Ive looked through all the usuall suspects, but I cant find this scenario anywhere! If anyone knows, or cares to e-mail it, please, feel free to share. Thanks!!!!!
  7. I have had good (well, mostly) experiances with the Flammpanzer before. I had eliminated all enemy armour on the field, and had one remaining PzIV, immobile, almost out of ammo. Most Allied units had been bloodied, some severly. I decided, what the hell, and sent the flammpanzer into plug a hole in my defenses, where I suspected Allies were trying to sneak through. I had its flanks covered by a HMG on one side, pinning a .50, and a depleted Volksgrenadier platoon on the other. The flammPz has a 50m range, and horrible visibility, but it didnt matter much at this point. As it went into a small dip in the terrain between to clumps of woods, it uncovered a mass of allied infantry, huddled in a blind spot. The slaughter ensued. At the end of the game, the FlammPz had inflicted 23 casualties, and knocked out a mortar. A zook almost got him, but the Volks squad suppressed it long enough for the flame to do its thing. I was pleasantly surprised at its effectivness, but I agree with the statement that flame units are best used killing somthing thats on its way out anyways.
  8. No WAY!!!! I live on Beacon hill too!!!! Right behind Amazon.com on 14thAve! Cool!! I have also spent alot of time in Port Townsend, I lived on a sailboat, and made frequent trips there as a kid, and we built a steel sailboat in the shipyards there too. Very cool! If yall want to get together for a beer or whatev( Port Townsend is a ways w\out a car tho ) Email or respond here.
  9. Wow. I cant beleive I have never heard anything about that. What a terrifying experiance. Thank you for that link, it was exactly what I was looking for. Jeez, those guys were brave, could you imagine going head to head like that with a Stuka? Could you imagine having no other choice? That is yet another story that makes me respect and appreciate my elders even more. Its starting to get to the point that if I even see an old man, limping in the grocery store, I get a lump in my throat and want to thank him for being so brave, and fighting for us all.
  10. Why is there no hotkey for the HALT order? My last QB I got a flammpanzer, and was wondering why they dont have a HUNT command.
  11. I cant beleive they left that out of CMBO! I know its been said, many times, many ways, but anything nasty enough to have the name ' meatgrinder' should have priority. At least in my book.
  12. {GASP) Ok, if BTS is #42, whos #1? And, number one,(said with a Picard accent) wanna trade numbers? 6627 is a very lucky number ya know.
  13. Allright, sounds good! I geuss there arent to many of us CM folk round' these parts?
  14. Thank you for the good responses everyone. Yes, unfourtunatly, I am a casuality of the Average American Education System, which, in my opinion, is far below average. I think our history lesson on WW2 went like this: "....so, like, there was this big war, like, 60 years ago, and ummmm, all these people faught and died and there was some dude named Hippler or somthing, and some other people too, but, whatever...." Thanks also for the pictures, I started to drool when I thought of what those would do to a column of halftracks and PzIIIs, not to mention the unlucky troops around them. It is interesting to hear about the Arctic convoys, that is sadly the first Ive ever heard of them, is there any good documentry material on them?
  15. Ive never seen, or heard much about Matildas, but the name alone doesnt do much to instill fear in the enemy. It sounds like it would cook you pancakes, not blow you up. Tiger, Panther, Hellcat, those sound like ferocious hunters, but Matilda? Also, how DID these supplies reach Russia? Im geussing that the Germans wouldnt be accomidating to a bunch of American forces strolling through thier front lines, resuppling the Soviets. The same for Japan, they wouldnt take kindly to a massive American convoy hangin around their side of the Pacific.Ive never thought about it till now, but how was it done?
  16. Thanks Micheal, I was about to ask what the differance was. A 37mm and two .50s still wouldnt be somthing to scoff at. If the M16 itself was sent to the Russ, was it on a M3, or was it only the weapons platform transfered onto the soviet equivelent of the M3? Also, what other vehicles(besides the 'ol Sherm) might we be likely to see from the lend-lease act?
  17. In another post, I asked wether or not the M16 will be included, I got one pretty sure answer(which was YES) but any confirmation on that? Anyone know for sure? That thing would be BAD ASS! Seeing what one .50 can do( my record kills for one M2 is 20 somthing infantry, one PzIV, and a half dozen 250\1's.)a quad .50 would RAWK!!!
  18. I dont know if Ryan was fibbin or not, but if he isnt..... AAAARRRRRRGH!! 127!!!!!!!
  19. Was the M16 quad .50 ever included in the soviet lend-lease deal? Maybe we'll finally get it!
  20. Figure that it can somtimes take a dozen rounds from a main gun to KO a PB, so would an MG do much good? Well, ok, in RL probably, a few rounds of MG fire into a firing slit would cause any sane person to hit the ground, but in CM you have SuperGermans, who laugh at a round of 105 bouncing around thier little p-box.
  21. **MUNCH** OUCH!!!!!!! I probably am getting ahead of myself a bit, Im just excited. but OK, Ill leave it alone. I want it done right so SIGHits worth the wait.
  22. Cool! Ive got Friday and Saturday nights free, Im pretty much open for any weekend{read;geek} so lets see how many more sighn up! Any good bars in Everett?
  23. Hehehe.... Mannnn, I dont know what you mean.... Daves not here, man....{Giggles at old high school code word for *ahem* social deviency} BTW does anyone know what makes the TacAI fire rifle grenades? Ive been trying to figure it out for awhile.
  24. Ive had them devastate HTs, and even take out a couple of PzIVs in the past. What I dont like about them is you cant tell your troops when to use them. Im sure the reasoning on this is along the lines of 'to much micro managment', but I dont see why you couldnt have the rifle grenade icon like a little button. Only when your troops are in range, you could click this icon and aim for your target, and boom, there you go. BTW, how did 'fausts work? Were they attached to the front of a rifle, or did they come in a tube? Also, why were rifle grenades phased out? It seems like a good idea for a longer range heavy grenade to be deployed, like being able to take out a MG nest without exposing yourself.
