  2. I don't think the above can happen unless one of the MG crew is driving. Either they are the only occupants of the jeep, or they loaded on first, took over driving, and then the driver boarded and stayed a passenger. Of course you can't tell from the info window.
  3. And flamethrower tanks! Oh wait... Never mind.... And isn't it strange to see the unmodded terrain and units etc. It's amazing how much better the mods have made the game look.

  6. As with CM1, it feels like the Germans are fighting with rapiers, while the Allies are fighting by bludgeoning. That's why it's more fun as the Germans.
  7. Yeah, the scenarios and campaigns created after the NATO and Brit modules came out were the pinnacle of CMSF. The quality of the earlier ones was uneven.
  8. Ok thanks... Are you also certain that split squads always take a morale hit regardless if split in the editor, in the set-up turn, or during the game?
  9. I use a lot more mods than what is listed here. But, it's hard/very time-consuming to go thru em all to figure out which are the "best" ones. So, it's really useful to have them rated like this. Be great if there was a way for all of us to rate mods, like they do for scenarios at SCENARIO DEPOT II.

In addition to the Color Settings I previously posted: Brightness: 30% Contrast: 50% Gamma: 1.15 Dig Vibrance: 50% Hue: 0% I set my 3D settings to ON, or maximum or highest quality, except for some of the Texture Filtering settings. OFF: Anisotropic sample opt; Trilinear opt; Anisotropic filter opt.
  11. I dunno what vid card you have, but you can bring back color and vibrancy with the DIGITAL VIBRANCE controls. My nVidia settings (for DAY scenarios): Brightness: 30% Contrast: 50% Gamma: 1.15 Dig Vibrance: 50% Hue: 0% Also look at your 3D settings.

  14. I have to disagree re the Brits. I love all the modules, but the Brits especially. The Brits don't have the massive firepower and ammo to waste that the US does esp the Marines. You have to be "clever" and thoughtful to win as the Brits. And while they have great tanks and some good AFV's it's a lot of fun to figure out how to use their light-skinned vehicles. The Brit inf also have to be handled differently as their rifles have about twice the accurate range of the US M16. I suppose it's question of play style. You want to just have massive firepower to blast everything and win easy, or you want more of a challenge where economy of force is more critical...? I also like the Red vs Red campaigns for the same reason.

This is going back a ways, but am pretty sure that by recombining two teams, one which was exhausted/suppressed and the other was ok that if you got it the right way round re the A and B teams, the recombined squad would suddenly be ok. It's also a great way to save ammo for those mass firepower SMG heavy squads, since one rarely needed 450 firepower factors. One team of 250 was quite enuff. But, re my original question I was surprised that if the squad was split in the editor and started on the map as teams, that they would NOT have a morale hit. I just was not sure about what happens to their morale when split in the set-up turn. So, am surprised that the opinion is that the teams have the morale hit even when split in the editor. Are we certain about that? Is it in the manual, or discovered thru trial and error???
  17. IIRC the gamey bit was that when recombined the squad took on the characteristics of the "A team" regardless of how beat up the "B Team" was. (Or, the other way round... I forget...)

And the Brits suffered the same fate, as did all invading armies all through recorded history starting with Alexander the Great (who apparently had to kill 10% of the population to subdue them - and that lasted only until he left). The biggest problem is nations refusing to study history, and believing that everyone else was stupid/incompetent and they will "show em" THIS time...
  19. Given someone seems to be able to assassinate their nuke scientists, the best outcome is a nuke "accident" at their facility.
