  1. me neither. But, that cos we is "senior" experienced hands at the totally non-intuitive activation system. I pity newbies. But, Derfel's guide is xnt.
  2. Would it be practical to rework existing campaigns and scenarios to use the new units?
  3. The thing is that without scenarios to play I personally find the Vehicle Pack to be a waste of space on my HD. As I said, I want to PLAY not look at pics or AAR's. Anyway, if each pack had (say) half the number of vehicles but included a couple of scenarios wouldn't that result in about the same price? Also, since I ordered a hard copy, this Pack cost me $50 - about the same as a module (or even base game). I think the game is close to being perfected for average entertainment purposes. I do crave more and better campaigns. Campaigns are clearly becoming way too time consuming for volunteers to produce. If I had to choose, I would rather spend $50 on a Campaigns Pack rather than on a New Units Pack that can't be used immediately.
  4. Re the Pack manual: The Brit flamer manpack MkII text says 100m range, but the image says 29m. There doesn't seem to be any info re the range of the SPW 251/16 D flamer or FlammPZ Char B-2(F). Can anyone clarify plz.
  5. It's part of a campaign, but FOILING FUSTIAN battle #2 is excellent.
  6. Yes, I think one of the reasons am enjoying CMSF all over again is that the terrain is so different from the European and East front terrain. Open, long LOS etc. great for armored maneuver...
  7. Yes, congratulations and thanks for any campaign (regardless of OOB issues). How many man-hours/days/weeks you reckon it took you?
  8. Despite BF's announcement I really hope they rethink releasing vehicle packs without scenarios. Better to have more packs with fewer vehicles per pack but include some scenarios that use the new units so people who prefer to play (rather than just drooling over pics and other people's AAR's) can immediately play.
  9. The same thing happens in CMSF al the time when one has multiple mods in use. Curious what is going on.
  10. "we need more pics from the veh pack" Wouldn't people prefer less pics and more scenarios featuring the pack vehicles that we can actually play? Am surprised that folks seem more keen on watching other people's AAR videos and pics than playing.
  11. North Africa would be more fun as it would be a completely different play experience. But, BF would have to make early war models and they are doing WW2 in reverse time.
  12. "3. Battle Packs -> only battles and campaigns, probably with an emphasis to support Vehicle and Forces Packs since previous releases should have plenty of scenarios and campaigns already." This would be VERY welcome. Please consider focusing on CAMPAIGNS (other than a few scenarios to showcase Vehiclce or Forces packs). There are a reasonable number of scenarios available for each title. But, there are now hardly any campaigns for the recent releases and it doesn't appear volunteers have time to make campaigns any more.
  13. Re CMSF scenarios and campaigns. The terrain was MUCH easier to deal with. Urban terrain in CM2 seems to require many weeks/months of serious effort (see Umlaut). Hence the reduced offerings by volunteers. At least we need to be prepared to start paying for good quality BF created campaigns of which there are only a couple per game release recently. (And nobody seems to have time to make campaigns any more.) Am very disappointed that the vehicle pack didn't include a couple scenarios so we could immediately play with them. Like many here, I play vs AI and QB's are just not up to scratch. (Am puzzled why BF didn't simply focus on completing CM:BS and put this CMBN vehicle pack on the back burner since Steve says it was a lot of work.)
  14. Yes, let's make allowances for the fact than many here are not native English speakers and misinterpretations of intent are common.
  15. Jock is correct. DISMOUNT means immediate dismount BEFORE the vehicle moves. If you give a movement command to a passenger and then a movement command to the vehicle, the inf will dismount at the vehicle's final waypoint. Passenger cannot (automatically) dismount at any intermediate waypoint.
  16. As JonS says, many SS formations at the end of the war were very poor. But, the point of the film is that it is entertainment not a History Channel doc (which can be just as silly often).
  17. Thanks Saferight. Yeah RL can be a biatch. I spent all summer with time on my hands and all the tourneys I wanted to play in were delayed. And now they are all starting and I find am traveling almost non-stop between November and maybe end of April - with no game machine. But, hope you (or someone) can complete this project. So timely. This scenario is like watching CNN.
  18. They did have Fausts and Grenades. They proved "ineffective".
  19. Am happy I bought the vehicles pack. I actually bought the hard copy and with mail that came to $50. I don't begrudge the price as I feel I am still paying for 15 years on the xnt CM1 which is still very much alive and well and being played a lot at many other sites like WeBoB, FGM etc. However, is this vehicle pack good value? That's hard to justify since it didn't come with any scenarios that actually feature the new vehicles. I was very disappointed about that for a $50 dollar (or even $30) pack. So, now it sits there on my HD with no mission. I am very fortunate that I can afford the cost. However, I also know that I don't have the talent or time to design good scenarios, let alone the massive work that goes into creating CM2 campaigns. Well-designed and tested scenarios and campaigns is what I would be happy to pay for. Otherwise, my concern is that the CM2 series is increasingly becoming merely a "work kit" that requires volunteers to make the scenarios that are the whole point of buying a game - because it's about playing the game, not just looking at nice graphics and cute new vehicles. Here's some stats from my HD including all scenarios and campaigns available for d/l. (There are probably only a few more out there I haven't found.) CMSF: Scenarios: 503 Campaigns: 56 CMBN: Scenarios: 279 Campaigns: 31 CMFI: Scenarios: 335 Campaigns: 3 CMRT (expected to be most popular): Scenarios: 49 Campaigns: 3 If BF wants to continue to provide packs, they should at least include scenarios so that customers can immediately enjoy the product.
  20. How is this project coming along Saferight & Stagler? Now in Kobani we have Al Nusra, (already modded) plus Peshmerga and maybe PKK vs IS. Cries out for scenarios. Esp hypothetical with Turkish Leopard's and those Dutch IFV's that look similar to what the Turks use. (I think we already have Turkish inf camo).
