All you seem to be capable of passing is horribly wretched gas.

The unbolded one obviously deserves the fate of the heretic which he is. I propose that Peng shall perform his duties as Father Confessor and extract the obvious truth from the witch! I say he should use his smilie torture techniques, after which the unbolded one shall be burned at the stake in my front lawn. He should be burned there because I have a large supply of dry wood, ready for the great purpouse it should be used for. I desire for the festivities to commence immediately, due to my close proximity to this blight upon the MBT. Thereupon his soul (or whatever witches have) should be handed over to Berli for still more punishment. I think a visit from Bauhauswould also help make up for his sins. I think that is a start at making up his transgressions upon the MBT.
 3. Check out this ammo on this T-44. It's a prototype armed with a 122m gun that used single cartridge ammo.
 4.
quote:
Originally posted by dunc: 3. Just thought of another question: In American Para Squads, what are the carbines? I mean, I know what a carbine is, but what is it a carbine of? An M1? or a different totally different rifle? [ 07-17-2001: Message edited by: dunc ]

As mentioned before it was based on the M1. However the cartridge had considerably less knockdown potential. There are some stories from the Korean War of Chinese being so heavily wrapped in winter clothing that the carbine apparently did not penetrate the clothes. I suspect it is more the fact the bullet doesn't hit hard enough to make wounds that will stop a person from being able to move. It basically just made a .30 inch diameter hole in whatever it happened to hit. The M1 with it's 30.06, which is still a potent round today, makes a .30 inch entrance hole and and an exit wound 10-20 times bigger. Ma Deuce is even better. If it hits someone in a limb, usually that limb is severed. If it hits the stomach it can cut a body in half.
 5. I experienced a very tiny bit of burnout a few weeks ago. I only played for 3 hours a day instead of 4, after rediscovering all of the unfinished model kits I had. But then I discovered the joys of PBEM. I am now playing 4-6 hours due to my utter lack of a life.
 6. I'm pretty certain Steve has said the Maus is not going to be included, along with the Panther F and II. The main reason was there is no hard data that they ever saw combat and no hard evidence of their capabilities. We've all seen how hesitant BTS is to use guesstimated numbers.
 7. I've wondered about the traps on new tanks myself. It certainly looks quite vulernable, especially to a sabot round. The Saukopf on the Jgpzr I believe merely helps defelect rounds better. I don't think there was a real shot trap, just it's more effecient to use a smooth sloping mantlet than a big thick box like the mid-production Stugs.
 8.
quote:
Originally posted by abuhabib: didn't the germans gave an eye 4 an eye at arnhem? especially the polish brigade? n was it the 82nd at st mere eglise?

Don't forget about the British 1st Airborne being reduced to 1 battalion.
 9. Don't forget the ease of fixing the graphics . There are many outstanding mods out there you can use. Also it's very easy to communicate with the developers.
 10. Flares were fairly common, but mostly used for signaling attacks or retreats. Starshells were very common during the early stages of the landings. I know the 82nd Airbone today primarily uses their mortars for night illumination.
 11.
quote:
Originally posted by MikeyD: I recently came across a pict of an M3A1 scout car with all of its stowage laid-out for inspection in front of the vehicle. At the top of the pile was this giant mother of a handsaw, looked like it had to be 5 feet long! Stored against the far rear wall I suppose. And prominent stowage on the side of T34-85s and JS-2s was a stout push-pull type handsaw. Forget about Jeeps winning the war, handsaws won the war!

Those old 2 man crosscut saws are actually really good. It wouldn't take too long to clear out any blown tree roadbloacks with them. I've cut a 22 inch log with one in around 2 minutes with them. You don't get very tired out with them either, the weight of the saw does all of the cutting. All you do is just pull it back, then let the other guy pull it back.
 12. Actually both carry the exact same gun. Both have 77 blast and fairly similar ammo loads.
 13.
quote:
Originally posted by WayneSikes: Hi everyone, Is anyone but me having trouble getting decent customer support for MC? I bought MC 2 weeks ago and got the package last week in the mail. The game manual was totally wet - I mean like it had been soaked in water and the pages starting to fall out. I've contacted the company to get a replacement manual via the sales address twice now and have received no replies of any kind. I was hoping these guys would work a little harder to keep customers happy - especially since they're a small company. Am I the only person having trouble getting any help from these guys???

I'm totally satisfied with the support I get. Just keep sending emails because they are after all just 4 people, only 2 of whom I know handle the customer related side. It probably just gets lost in their inboxes. Madmatt, one of the admins, will probably see this thread so he'll be able to help you more.
 14. I would like this too. It's kind of similar to my reduced rate of fire area target command I've been asking for lately.
 15. Leave them back for a while. They obivously aren't assault guns, so wait for your infantry and main armor to locate the defensies, then once they are suppressed, roll up the priest to beat em to the dirt. The closest the Americans have to an assault guns is the Sherman(105). It costs 44 points more though. It's a better choice if you have the points to play with and a close range map.
 16. Considering it's the best wargame ever, buy it! I doubt the price will go down, because BTS is an extremely small company compared to others, and their personal income is directly related to sales. The reason they sell internet only is contained in their bio/manifesto on this page. In short, they are sick of being screwed out of the profits of a game by publishers.
 17.
quote:
Originally posted by Slapdragon: What he means is that Finnish units with Soumi Submachineguns equipped with German optics riding on King Tigers are better as spotting than A,erican rifleman cowering in the grass with broken Russian optics mounted on their uncleaned M1's after being fired upon by an old lady with a sling shot made from Liederhosen, except when the old lader over shoots after trying to cross a wooden bridge she is not rated to cross. Or something like that

I'm afraid I like that so much I'm going to try to make it my sig, with credit of course.
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by lcm1947: Thank you again for some very nice mods. I would also like to thank the guys that make this all possible - the modelers. Excellent looking!

Some of you guys might have heart attacks when you see the mods that are in beta .
 19.
quote:
Originally posted by Madmatt: No damage done, I never saw them anyway and if I did than they didn't have any impact. Madmatt

Actually you posted in it .
 20. Madmatt has it in the article section of Combat Mission HQ
 21. Are you planning on modeling an attack on a sewage treatment plant?
 22.
quote:
Originally posted by Panzerman: Sorry I don't have that much money to throw around. [ 07-13-2001: Message edited by: Panzerman ]

I found it for less than $10. It's really not that expensive.
