  1. Steve, I'm not really that interested in a Britt only module however, if you guys could include a couple of kick A#@ campaigns (1 US Army, and 1 Marine) as well as maybe a few more Army or Marine Toys; It might just give the US only guys enough incentive to purchase .... hint ... hint ..
  2. I don't think she is enlisted or commissioned ..... The weapons don't look like US army issue ... At least not from my experience
  3. As long as CM-Normandy has WEGO w/replay against the AI and WEGO w/replay for PBEM, then I'm satisfied .... I thought for a moment there that we were taking a step backwards ....
  4. This was not my understandin at all .... Did Steve say there would be no WEGO for CM Normandy ? I thought he said there would be no replay for TCP/IP WEGO ...
  5. Should any crew be allowed to operate any platform? I can understand why crews would be vehicle specific. For example you wouldn't want a Hummer crew to man a Stryker would you? If you gave crews this ability then you would also have to track what types of platforms a crew should be allowed to operate. I think it was just much easier for Charles to allow crews to only operate the vehicle they begin with. The smoke discharge thing does sound like a bug ..... Of course all of this is pure speculation and may in no way be grounded in reality .....
  6. Steve has officially announced that the "Brain in a Jar" is currently working on CM Normandy full time. So what does this mean? It means that your not likely to see any changes made to CMSF that cant also be used in CM Normandy. Since individual squads deploying smoke in WWII was not very common, I doubt they will spend much time implementing this.
  7. PBEM should not effect your performance at all. PBEM just means you are saving a turn then sending it by email or receiving a saved turn. Try emailing a turn to yourself and see if you get the same results. If your email client is running in the background while CMSF is running, this could be causing some resource problems.
  8. My suggestion is to start off playing WEGO(turn based) as you learn the commands and learn what to expect from your virtual troops. Once you get a feel for the game you can try RT (Real Time) play. RT can get pretty hectic and WEGO slows the pace of the game down quite a bit. Good Luck and welcome to CMSF
  9. Reorganization (Reorg) command would also be much appreciated. This command would cause all squads or vehicles within a platoon that are within command radius of the PLT HQ to load balance ammo pools.
  10. If your playing wego then you need to change facing first then pop smoke ... I know it sux but you will need to wait 60 secs before poping smoke after changing facing
  11. No email for me yet either ... Just the usual Viagra spam
  12. Yes send the Marines .... Especially the ugly rodent with the big nuts .... We are ready
  13. Release the Marines now ... before its too late!!!
  14. Wow was this thread ever Ninja'd ...... Of course I did my part in getting things off track ......
  15. Well I cant really speak from personal experience on this one since my squads leave their JAV in the bus. But I have noticed similar behavior with other units like FO, FIST and HQ's. It's my guess that the AI fudges a little when it comes to unit recognition and then applies a value to each spotted target. The higher value targets are shot at first which results in a FO, FIST, HQ getting hit first. I also think this AI target selection goes all the way down to the boot level which means if you have a 9 man squad and one guy is carrying the JAV then he will be more than likely be a primary target.
  16. Yep I was a bullet stopper in the 80's and back then our comparable (but by no means equivalent) medium ATGM was Dragon. It was also heavy but in training we always dismounted with it. I know everything is geared toward MOUT today so I guess I can understand why you wouldn't bring it along. Of course back then we also had to hump a 60 which was also a b$%^ breaker.
  17. Roger that .... I just have a real bad habit of dismounting ( especially when playing RT) and forgetting to bring along a Jav. Sometimes I dont remember until my Squad sees a HVT. Trust me, you can hear oaths that would make Gunny Huntarr blush when this happens....
  18. I always give mounted troops the order to dismount and forget to pick up the Javelin. Am I the only one that has this problem? Shouldnt it be SOP to for a squad to always take at least one javalin round unless ordered not to?
  19. Should work the same way as breaching a wall in CMSF
  20. Not trying to be difficult but I don't understand how a registration page would be less efficient than sending you an email? For example, I go to your secure registration page and enter my information along with a my unique license key. You then go through your internal process to determine if the key is valid. If the key is valid then add the key to your customer account DB. If another user tries to register the same key then the key is contested and you have a separate internal procedure to handle that situation. The only reason I can determine this might not work is if you guys have some duplicate keys floating around so each key is not truly unique.
  21. Hey Moon.... I purchased my copy of CMSF before 1 Oct 2007 ..... Can you set up a page where users can register their License keys from purchases prior to 1 Oct 2007?
  22. Steve, You might want to take a look at these guys as a way to provide Mac compatibility for all you apps..... Mac CrossOver Make sure you check out the list of games they support
  23. Sounds like an idea for another module ...... CM:SF Special Ops ????
  24. I've noticed that troops given a move command while mounted doesn't always give the desired results. Here's a good example: Stryker moves up next to a building and a move command is given for the squad to unload and move into the building. The first thing that happens is the troops perform the standard dismount (as per SOP) with half the troops on one side of the vehicle and half on the other side. Then the squad attempts the move command which is when things can get fubar. The team on the same side as the move commands direction will normally move directly into the building but the team on the opposite side will normally run around the front of Stryker exposing themselves to incoming fire. I have had this occur on several occasions and in a heated fire fight will normally get that team killed or severely crippled. The following are two options for handling this situation: Option 1. Stryker stops at the dismount location and a move order is given. If the move direction is to the right of the vehicle (2 to 5 o'clock) then the entire squad performs a dismount right before moving out. If the move direction is to the left of the vehicle (7 to 11 o'clock) then the squad does a dismount left before moving out. If the move direction is directly to the rear (5 to 7 o'clock) or front (11 to 2 o'clock) then the squad does the standard dismount with half the squad on one side and half the squad on the other side. If a dismount order is given then the squad performs the standard dismount. Option 2. Add a dismount right or dismount left command to the interface and let the user determine dismount direction. I would prefer option 1 as it feels more intuitive and would require less micro management but I believe either option would work. Anyone else have an idea on how to deal with this tac AI behavior?
