  1. Most like Russian APS being too expensive, IMO. I'll shoot it up to BFC and see what happens.
  2. Across the board? Dunno about that, but almost certainly true with some units. The Russians are a hard case since they are pitted against two very different opponents. Relikt ERA and APS are of more value against Ukraine than the US.
  3. Display size: Desktop V-Synch: ON 3D Model Quality: Improved 3D Texture Quality: Best Antialias/Multisample: ON High Priority Process: ON Tree Detail: High Shaders: ON Not that I am aware of.
  4. Are you running Windows? If so, which version and is it 32 or 64 bit? These are the Nvidia settings I use. I don't guarantee these are optimal, but I can run large maps with frame rates in the 20s and I have a rather weak GPU (260M).
  5. Interestingly enough I just tested this with Russian AT-13 teams vs. Abrams APS, five teams per tank. The Abrams get wrecked. Seems to be working more-or-less correctly.
  6. Ironically, the most effective way to limit Javelins is to force cherry picking. Bradleys and Strykers purchased from the single vehicle list never have them. I don't think that's a good idea, I'm just pointed that out. I do like not allowing extra Jav teams to be purchased from the specialist list. Outside of that I think those rules are more elaborate than necessary. For the WW2 games one of my favorite rules is to limit the number of points spent on tanks to something like 30% of the total, with "tanks" being defined as fully tracked vehicles excepting Bren carriers and such. But I feel the other categories are self-limiting. Nobody is going to spend half their points on artillery. Unless you are playing on a small map -- which I refuse to do -- it's not cost-effective. I may limit the caliber. I think people should be allowed to buy all the APCs and IFVs they want. They die easily enough. Sounds good!
  7. Trees do offer some protection against Javelins. I ran a test during development that showed Javelins hitting vehicles in trees about half the time. I don't know if this is too high or not. It is higher than the TOW2B. The one aspect that is not realistic is the Javelin using it's diving top attack mode through the canopy. Javs firing at targets under tree cover should be forced to use direct attack mode. This is not presently modeled in the game although it has been requested.
  8. I have had some luck using the Move command in this situation. They spot as well as with Hunt, but because the movement doesn't cancel when the enemy is spotted they will often stop and fire while standing rather than drop to the ground.
  9. Ah, Rugged Defense. I cut my PBEM teeth on that ladder way back when. Good times. I don't know if Black Sea is amenable to Short 75 type rules. I would probably not allow the US to use APS vehicles, the presence of which is speculative anyways from a reality standpoint. The Russian micro UAV that I can't remember the name of should be banned, IMO, since it is immune to US AA (in reality they can be shot down with machine guns if spotted). Beyond that I'm not sure.
  10. He is presumably referring to trucks organic to the Panzergrenadier Battalion (motorized). Those trucks do indeed have 1 or 2 'fausts each in both CMBN and CMRT. The SS version of this formation does not have any 'fausts in its trucks, which I have reported as a bug. The Hanomags of the armored PzG battalion also have 'fausts occasionally, the SS formation a little more frequently than the Heer.
  11. I am about 99% sure it makes no difference for UAVs since the game engine does not physically place them above the area they are observing. They are located along the friendly map edge. I suspect the same is true of all air assets but don't quote me on it.
  12. RPGs are nearly worthless past about 125m or so in the game.
  13. LOL, no. Russian recon squads may be expensive because they all carry laser designators, which they will lose in the next patch. I will take a look at Ukrainian vs Russian line infantry prices but don't expect any sweeping changes after just a few weeks of play. For now if you really want to play a US vs Russia infantry only game I would give the US player a +40% point adjustment
  14. I think the assumption is that the jamming has been ongoing and continuous from before the scenario began. Plus what Seinfeld said.
  15. To be fair to Stagler, he hasn't really said much about graphics. Others have, and in a huge thread like this it's hard to keep track of who said what exactly. His gripes are really in two areas: support for real time multiplayer and AI. I have already said that I think the first is a legit complaint. I have my doubts about how much a fully functional real time lobby/server feature would grow the customer base, but it's not a crazy idea. As for AI, I agree it would be nice to have the AI modable. Every single war or strategy game I have played with a truly good dynamic AI has got it through modding, in most cases years of modding. But while that would make existing customers happy I think it would do jack squat for growing the customer base. Games that have great AI as their selling point are few and tend to be very niche.
  16. I have an idea what's happening. From the video it appears the game is not recognizing missiles incoming near the same time as salvo fire IF those missiles originated from different vehicles. But if the missiles originate from the same vehicle it does recognize it as salvo fire. I can't tell what type of vehicles those are, but try the same test with Khrizantema-S and you should see very different results. I don't know if it's a bug or an oversight. Of course in reality the APS wouldn't know the difference. Having said that, the situation in your tests would be very unusual in actually gameplay.
  17. Every time I read something like this I can't help but remember Steve saying a few years back that the sales of CMBN were similar to the sales of CMBO. Think about that. BFC spent 3-4 years developing a new engine and used it to put out a game with much higher production values and their sales didn't increase.
  18. No, two will get through most of the time, assuming neither hits anything else on its way to the tank. Although this may vary by missile type.
  19. And I do retract my accusation of lying. You were simply mistaken
  20. Upper side hull armor of T-series should increased from 60mm to 80mm in the next patch. I say should because it's marked as fixed but sometimes it turns out different than expected.
  21. Yes. All APS have a random chance to fail to intercept. Shtora is usually ineffective againt TOW and Javelin since those missiles a very resistant to spoofing.
  22. Wow. Aren't you clever. Please do continue.
  23. Eh, CM has been compared to ARMA endlessly, and the comparison to chess AI has also been made. So I call bull**** on your strawman claim.
