  1. I'm playing a Huge QB now, and what I do is just watch the movie more times. I divide the battle up into sections and watch the movie at least once for each section.
  2. They need to be smarter about it. Infantry and MGs will shoot at unbuttoned tanks several hundred meters away. At that range they have little chance of hitting the commander. Yes, they can make him button but that is usually not worth the mouthful of HE they eat when their positions are revealed.

  5. There is also currently a bug that will sometimes cause vehicles to not recognize holes in bocage. I think this may only affect low bocage.

  9. +1. I actually have to play at 1024x768 and put up with the black bars on the sides because the text in the UI is microscopic on a 16" laptop at that resolution.

  11. You can also buy dismounted German Pioneer companies. Nope. All dismounted US infantry has to be bought by the battalion.
  12. Yeah, but you can still pair down the US battalions into individual companies, you just have to use a lot more mouse clicks to do it. I don't see why US infantry shouldn't be listed by company.
  13. One oddity of the QB units menu is that you can purchase German infantry by the company, but American infantry must be purchased by the battalion.
  14. This happened to me on 3 occasions in my current game, all prior to making contact with the enemy. I have the save files.
  15. I've mentioned the German radio operator issue before. Someone replied that it is going to be fixed eventually.
  16. Seems odd that they don't have binoculars. At the very least they have the scope on their gun that would probably function about as well as binoculars.
  17. 6. Tooltip doesn't tell you if the terrain being moused over is impassable for the selected unit. I agree. Great game, but could be much better about giving the player critical information.
  18. I don't think print screen works in CMBN. I use Fraps.
  19. The lack of anything equivalent to a Combined Arms (from CMx1) option in QBs is the only concern I have. I never played QBs with unrestricted force selection in CMx1, so I don't know if that is conducive to "competitive" play. If people are fine with that then no problem. If not we may have to figure something out.
  20. My theory is that the former consider the latter to be a lower form of life. That's certainly the impression they leave.
  21. Are people comfortable with using the "Mixed" force setting and letting everyone pick anything they want, or are you guys choosing all armor or all infantry settings?
  22. The irony is that the real soldiers who were sent to Normandy in 1944 weren't there to experience anything. They were there to WIN! But it's not that clear-cut anyway. I have played on ladders and would probably be classified as a "competitive" CM player, yet I embrace the randomness of the battlefield and abhor mirrored maps.
  23. Fionn's Rules of 76 are a good idea, but there is an issue with enforcing the limits on artillery. As far as I know there is no way to know what off-map artillery or air assets the other side used.
