  1. Soddball you inept, lizard trainer. This kind and gentle soul, sightreader , is merely expressing a love for a truly wonderful game. Can't you just let the poor man enjoy it? :confused: Of course not, you are truly a wicked man. This is further evidenced by your scenarios. For example, Inferno should be released this weekend for all you fun-loving guys and gals. Truly a horrific piece set at night and in the fog. Lots of reinforcements, a meat-grinder extradonaire. {I expect my standard fee of 3 shekels for shamelessly promoting one of your scenarios. Please deposit in same off-shore account}
  2. Soddball you cross-eyed, drooling, slap-monkey. Did you not read my post above? Or were you too busy "entertaining" yourself to bother reading? Working, for a change, and that is preventing me from sending turns out. :mad: :mad: :mad: Turns gonna be slow all weekend as I will be working, not drinking but actually working.
  3. Alas, the siren song of physical labor is too strong to ignore. These melodious notes, coupled with the lure of continued employment (as an added bonus lowered expectations), are too strong for me to ignore; thus my eve is decided. I will be working late tonight so don't expect any turns. Well you lot are a surly bunch so expect all you want. Just know this, turns not going out.
  4. First off, this isn't "another idea for engine re-write" it is a recycled old idea. As noted above the "God's eye" view of the player makes arty unrealistic as it is and the penalties for re-targeting out of LOS is a nice way to provide some balance to this issue. I don't want arty more accurate, be able to adjust out of LOS (without time penalties), or any other any tweaks that would allow a platoon and a gaggle of FO to defeat a battalion supported by a company of tanks. Because that is precisely what would happen if your proposed "improvement" was put in place.

All right back to the business at hand. Axe2121 if your gameyness is half as lame as your pathetic attempt at humour I will no have problem kicking your yarbles in "Island in the Sun". A beta-version to be honest but untested by yours truly and made by Soddball . It will go out tonight. As far as the marriage thing. Utah prohibited multiple marriages a long time ago but that really only applied to a man and his wives. As you are talking about same sex marriage, ie you and MasterGoodale , you have to check your local laws on same sex polygamy. I see you live in the Great Socialist Republic of Canada so I imagine love of your fellow man is allowed, if not encouraged. *shudder* Originally posted by Beckie Duly noted. Let's see if I can lose any worse when I choose my own forces. Should I not be sending turns to anyone, it's not that I am ignoring you. I would have to take time to think about you to ignore you. I have most likely forgotten to send you a turn. [ March 20, 2003, 06:02 PM: Message edited by: mike_the_wino ]
  6. All right BeoWolf , I know you probably have a lot of units to los...er, place. Take your time. As far as Becket , by all means take your time coming up with a sig. It might even be witty if you can get enough of your synapses to fire in order. As to the rematch, yes, I demand a chance to meet again in battle. And wouldn't you know, Soddball has devised a devilish delight that I will send to you this eve. Still looking for one of you pack of mongrels to untuck your tail from between your legs and step up for a match. What? Not a one of you mediocre, mindless, gerbil-loving, girly-boys up for a real game?
  7. Oh looky at my COOLER, LOWER member number. I forgot all about this one until I found it in my files. Re: Soddball's Inferno Having played this scenario twice against 2 different opponents I don't feel it was unbalanced. Two games with exactly hte same score (IIRC) 67-33 but polar opposite results, one win and one loss. Becket's self-proclaimed "gamey" tactics were either brilliant tactical moves or just blind luck. He struck me at my 2 weakest points just as I was moving units into place. Had he hestitated or if I had tighened lines a bit more, both of his critical blows would have been for naught. As far as turn length, Dave H and I played a slower paced battle. If this game had ended on turn 25 it would have ended in a draw. I think overall it was a great scenario against two excellent opponents and I enjoyed both matches. Thank you Soddball for the scenario and I recommend people giving it a go once it gets posted. Thanks also to my opponents, Becket and Dave H for two of the most enjoyable games in a long time. As far as BasticheMoldyBalls , I look forward to being your Daddy. {editted to add: Looky Soddy, an even lower member number than you.} :eek: [ March 19, 2003, 02:22 PM: Message edited by: aka: mike_the_wino ]
  8. WHOOP WHOOP!!! Oh, you mean we can view Nashorns as an "asset" as opposed to the thin-skinned tin-can it is now?
  9. Gawd, I love this forum. There is some much I don't have a freaking clue about and then...BAM!! Here it is. This may sound stupid but here goes. If German tanks were so under-gunned then how did they (Germans)achieve such advances through Russia? I understand surprise played a big part coupled w/ air cover for the first part of the offensive. But the Germans were outmanned and it sounds like out-gunned. Short answers, with small words please, as I am obviously thickheaded for this not to occuring to me before.
  10. Huh?!? I damn near broke my brain doing the genealogy in the last MBT thread. How many of these "offspring" did you sire? Or are you just cloning yourself in an attempt at world domination? Oh, and I will be taking one copy, please.
  11. ACTOR , no insult intended for our SoCal CMer's, unless you live/ are from LA then insult intended and doubled . Hope you guys have a helluva a time. CaSCa , you sound like a nice enough bloke but I was recently in SoCal, LA to be precise, and I remembered why I left. Oh, in case you do go, don't mention the brown sky or funny smell...it's called smog and no one notices it anymore. :eek:
  12. CORONA?!?!? Are they no beta-testers in NoCal? I really do miss the the oppresive heat, oh but its a "dry" heat, and the choking smog but I will have to decline on the grounds that I moved out of SoCal for a reason. And not even CMBB is worth the 8 hour drive.
  13. Ahem, it may be "finished" but it ain't done by any means. So we can expect no patch..ever? Not even after the release of CMBB? Come on, a couple of weeks work to stave off the inevitable clamoring for CM3? Obviously the BFC policy of "we won't release any game until it complete" is complete bollocks as there have been a number of patches to CMBO all ready. I think the failure to address this issue is unsatisfactory. IF the delay is due to the fact that the fine folks at BFC are busy making CMBB ready for my greedy little paws, fine. That I can live with. But to say, "No more patches as this game is completed", although a major flaw remains...come on. Please add my name to list that would like to see addressed at some point.
  14. As the release of CMBB is soooo delayed it is possible that BFC modeled crops after their favorite agriculutural product. My indoctrination..er, education taught this same idea. Modern crops are shorter. Taller crops tend to fall over, or get blown over more easily, which is bad. Shorter crops don't fall/ get blown over as easily and yield more crop which means more $$$. Also decreases biodiversity of crops but hey, our food is cheap, right?
  15. Egads...and I thought being forced to play as Canadians was demeaning enough. Is there no end of the punishment BFC will infict upon us?
  16. Shhhhh. Zis man iz de Artiste. Dun you try and stop 'im from werking. I like the sounds of both of these scenarios. Good luck and post when you need testers.
  17. MY GOD....IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!! Now we know why it has taken so long to release CMBB. This truly is the definitive wargame to date. Thanks Col_Deadmarsh for this insight into the latest and greatest from BFC.
  18. Why yes, I too happen to live but blocks from you. Might I have your address as well? If I get there early don't worry...I will let myself in. This is truly the most evil and wicked post I have ever seen on this forum....cuz I live in CA.
  19. I am with Dirtweasle. Best I could do was 1 squad w/ HQ. Split squad deleted both parts, no way to delete a half-squad. Only tried 4 times. If there is another way I would love here about it.
