  1. If it works like that, then that would take care of the problem, wouldn't it? Or, are there FOW changes from one QB to the next that would present a problem?
  2. I was wondering how long it would take before someone got around to doing that. Thanks.
  3. Just a second here; does the new import QB map allow us to accomplish this by simply recycling the map with the same units on it for another QB? [edited to include the following:] In such instances, would the units retain their prior positions at the end of the preceding QB? [ September 30, 2002, 03:31 PM: Message edited by: Agua ]
  4. I commented on this in an earlier thread, but it got buried there. With the new "huge" map parameter available in quick battles, 60 turns is not enough time to complete the really monster sized QBs. Even in CMBO, with its relatively faster pace, 60 turns frequently was insufficient for a really BIG battle like a 5,000 point assault in certain types of terrain. The inadequacy of 60 turns is exaggerated in CMBB with the slower paced advances. Is it too hard to just increase the available turns to, say, 100? (I don't know, maybe there is something that makes it really difficult to increase the turns beyond 60). Anyway, please consider changing this.
  5. Nice idea, but it sounds like it would require quite a bit of consideration and study to determine what amounts to a "proper" default number of turns given the force size, map size, terrain type: too much to work with when all you need to do is change the number of turns. A more pressing need, and one that I'm surprised wasn't addressed with CMBB, especially in light of the new "HUGE" map size parameter, is the limitation of only 60 turns. For really huge QB's, even with CMBO, a 60 turn battle just isn't enough time. With the slower pace of CMBB, that shortcoming is exaggerated. An option to allow up to, say, 100 turns is needed.
  6. Thanks for taking the time to put that together. Nice job.
  7. No, I believe the relative relationship you are referring to is that the command delay for Soviet troops prior to 1944 is the same delay to be expected for German troops of one experience level lower. I've seen nothing that I recall which indicates that qualities such as inherent morale and firepower are not identical across nationalities. I think only the command delay differs.
  8. Ordered for my personal use and to give to friends, a copy of TacOps 4, a bundle pack, and three copies of CMBB. I've recieved only the CMBB. I've placed orders for our European friends for three additional copies, and 6 MORE copies were placed by Europeans for delivery to me. I've recieved none of those. All we placed before CMBB shipped.
  9. Actually guys, I just saw a set of updated weather models. All five models independently show the storm coming in from anywhere between south of Lake Charles to around Burras and crossing over the New Orleans area. That's the most consistency any of those models have had since this storm began (aside from crossing over Cuba). Say worst case scenario, it comes through Burras, that's STILL a good bit of overland travel for you guys, isn't it? Also, I think major storms like that don't typically regain their former strength after significant land interaction. 10. A quick note for any Europeans who may have ordererd through me and are perusing this thread. I recieved a partial shipment of my personal order placed approximately 35 minutes after the pre-order announcment at around 2 a.m., Sept. 7. I've received none of the European orders yet. 11. Recieved a partial shipment on the Mississippi Gulf Coast of my initial order placed approximately 35 minutes after the pre-order announcment at around 2 a.m., Sept. 7. All European folks who ordered through me, I've received none of those orders yet.
  12. I recieved a partial shipment of my initial order which was placed approximately 35 minutes after the pre-order announcement was made at around 2 a.m. Sept. 7. Any folks in Europe who have placed orders with me, I have received none of those orders yet.
  13. Hey! There's that Haiku again! Quick, delete the topic!
  14. I think I'm just going to bubble wrap them and put them in a sealed paper bag.
  15. Delivery is USPS, so the truck ain't going to be bringing any CMBB joy.
  16. Here's a link to a TON of Windows tweaks, some of which are related to performance matters. Barrel 'o tweaks
  17. Fred, You're getting a US version so just let it chill, okay?
  18. Ummm... I think you've misquoted me. Not sure if the rest of the post was directed towards me or not. [edited to include the following:] The point is valid, regardless. [ September 20, 2002, 06:46 PM: Message edited by: Agua ]
  19. Oddly enough, you said this about Europeans, but I can just as easily think of this in relation to us (Battlefront). We have knocked ourselves out for 5 years to make the best wargames out there, now we are being insulted and dumpped on WELL outside the perspective of what is really happening. Steve</font>
  20. That's it in a nutshell. Every one of these fellows continuing on about it in this thread are getting a US copy through me. So the actual copy they get is not the point with them. I think it is making them feel unappreciated and their feelings are hurt.
