1. Nope, I didn't have any gun and the AI only have 1 gun. Spotter was creditted with 2 guns, but only one was on the battlefield.
2. In my recent quickbattle against AI my spotter was credited with 2 gun kills, but after the battle ended there was only one enemy gun on the battlefield. How come? I know you can see less credited kills because of fog of war, but more??? I have file saved if you want to examine this, Matt.
3. Why do you call mum? He's been a good boy and asked sensible questions. Maybe we should call DAD to answer them? He's older and therefore much much wiser Hola DAD!
4. That's British Firefly and it has an easy job to do with Tiger from any combat distance even without using tungsten ammo.
5. The Great Book of Truth speaks of a man, taller than pine, stronger than bear, vicious as hijeena and more cunning than fox. This man wanders in desert, seeks the knowledge and fights the undead. And one day this man will prevail the evil Master Swamp. The ground will be shaking like never before, birds will fall down from the sky, screeching in agony at the battle rage. But the outome is inevitable. The Man will win. But the world has not known yet of the Man, the chosen one. Is he a CombatGeneral? Is he one of you? The prophecy awaits to accomplish...
6. Suggestions for city doo-dazz: - bricks (or similar debris) lying scattered - buckets on the street near houses(maybe from previous firefightings) - occasional wrecked bicycle (so you get a feeling that people really lived there) Any?
7. In a PBEM battle with my friend I've beaten him to the point where he can't really impose any serious damage to me anymore. Now it's just a matter of time when I'll completely overrun him. A question: is it better (regarding points in AAR) if he surrenders to me (ALT+U) or tries to fight to the last man an suffer heavy losses? I know that you get more points for captured units, but IIRC that's only for units you capture during the battle (i.e. crew of a overrun enemy AT gun). What about the units which surrender after the battle (with ALT+U)?
8. Excellent work! Very detailed! Especially wheels - just awesome! I'll buy this little puppy much more often now.
9. I don't know if this has been discussed, but I'm wondering if there will be variable armor quality for tanks in CMBB. So if you buy 3 Panther A's they might have each different quality factor and one could have 85%, the other 95% and the third again 95%. Will these be modelled?
10.
quote:
Originally posted by Kingfish: To determine the number of rounds fired by the Finnish army you must first determine the number of Russians who were killed in that theater, then divide by two, as it was common knowledge that each round fired by a Finn killed two Russians.

LOL I can't wait to play as Finns!!! And I've heard they were almost unbeatable in close combat. Their heads were even without helmet very hard to crush. And even FallschirmjaeggerSwissBayonet could not penetrate their heroic chest! Oh, poor Russians!
11.
quote:
Originally posted by Lord General MB: Soldiers, The way I see it (and THAT really doesn't matter much...), snow is bland: There's only one tree base, and guess what? It's white! All the houses are tonned towards white, with the roofs matching to ground. Wheat is white.... Ice is white..... All the trees are blank or white!! Think about that compared to a summer game! Complete contrast (Save for the hedge and bocage of course). The trees are even multicolored in the fall.... Some may argue that the summer trees are all green; I know modders who went out of their way to change the tone on trees, so that they are not one tonned (Gary Kump, BIG DD, Myself...).

In Europe (don't know about Canada, though) we have different colours of trees depending on season. In spring you can see all kind of variations of green colour, and in the autumn you can see red, yellow, green, yellow and all variations between these colours. But in winter you just can't have same trees like in autumn. The colourful leaves fall off (except from pinnes and other non-leaves trees which are green all year around) and you have just brown branches. Non-leaves (coniferous) trees are covered with snow and I really don't have any problems with snow terrain in CMBO. I can say that winter in Europe looks a lot like in this picture (look at the beautiful tree on the bottom right ): But I'm still hungrily waiting for Tom's winter, which is absolutely awesome and will replace my current settings. 12. I wonder how can you achieve a gun hit from rear?  The world is going strange these days. BTS, please fix somefink!
13. In my entire career of playing CM I haven't seen this even once. Once it's down, it stays down.
14. Just wanted to share some experience... In my previous post I had installed W2000, but now I'm back to 98. Why? Well, I thought W2000 would be more stable, but it wasn't. W2000 has serious problem with assigning IRQs. I have had my Geforce, modem and sound card sharing the same IRQ. That caused freezes way too often and the only solution was reset button on the computer (keyboard was also frozen, like in your case, Bruno). For instance: surfing the net and listening winamp (IRQ sharing for modem and sound card at the same time!). It was not possible to manual assign different IRQs for these cards so there was no way around (I also tried with changing ACPI to standard PC, but somehow one startup file has corrupted and then I lost my patience and reinstalled W98). Now I have stable W98 and I don't even think about W2000 anymore. Also you will not have any graphical problems with your Geforce and CM in W98.
15. Thanks, Schrullenhaft for your excellent work here on this forum (BTS should employ you, you know! ). I had installed W2000 just yesterday and have experienced exactly the same problems as Brunov. I have GeForce mx400 and newest detonator drivers (it's v23.11 out of my head) and it worked great with W98, but now... Well, we'll have to live with that until CMBB in which I believe there will be no such issues. Denco's interface doesn't help, you still have blackouted PBEM save dialog and text graphics are still unreadable. ESC key solves these text problems in the start menus only, not during the gameplay. I'll try FSAA enabled as you suggested (I don't like that, because of slowdowns) if it'll help when I come home. Thanks for help (you saved me a lot of time for not needing to do a search).
16. Wait for a week or two more and look no further than this link: http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=022874 A lot of people (including me) are waiting for this superb winter mod to be finished by Tom.
17. ...just to make it more practical: Situation: you are German and your Tiger is shooting at American halftrack. I you click on Tiger, there should be red line from your Tiger to halftrack. But if you also see 3 yellow lines from you Tiger to three Jacksons, that means that you can almost say goodbye to Tiger. Those yellow lines mean that those 3 Jacksons are aiming and possibly already firing at your Tiger. Ouch!
18. And here we go again... The PRICES! ps. Churchill even on "fast" order is very slow.
19. Well, the biggest drawback for Churchill is its cumbrousness. It's sooo slow. It has overmodeled gun in CMBO (as stated in some previous post). They are however good to use against AI, but in one PBEM my battle I convinced myself that they aren't such big threat. My opponent was British and has bought 2 Churchills, I had Jpz IV and Hummel. It was quite shocking when you see Jpz popping up smoke and running for cover (I was always thinking that only Allies are such cowards! ). I'd do the same, because it was not Jpz/70 with its long gun and he couldn't harm it. But because they are so slow, I could just run my Hummel around the map and destroying his infantry before he could catch me with Churchills. So the Churchills are not so good against human. Well, he surrendered after I killed almost all of his infantry and destroyed one Churchill with speeding Skdz 7/2 with rear shot and the other one with close assault of infantry (with panzerfausts). My both tanks survived.
20. Well, we are now off the topic, aren't we? I just wish that BTS will model rate of fire of this beast correctly, so it wouldn't pose to big threat to Germans. Also SU-152 had rate of fire around 2 rounds per minute. I remember CC3, when I didn't buy almost anything else but those SU-152s because they had rate of fire like SU-76 Those SU-152 were really tank and infantry vaporizer with such huge gun and abnormal rate of fire. Well, that was until I installed indepent patch from some people who corrected a lot of errors so the game became more realistic...
21. Very good. Attacking without casualties. How could you do it? Even against AI it's hard (almost impossible?), but if you managed this against human...
22. I agree with you completely. That would make OPs much better and realistic. I wonder if BTS thinks the same way for implementing this in CMBO (I hope so). [ 01-03-2002: Message edited by: Porajkl ]

23. I might just get 1 million dollars! Well, of course if I'd have rich granddad who would die and leave everything to me instead giving it to charity... But I might! I know! But seriously, good for you Combat General that you had the guts to show the results of battle to us, old CM farts And for Swamp: don't bother playing with WARHAMMER, because if you defeat him in the first battle, he will misteriously dissapear into some spacious void right in the middle of second battle (where he'll be also loosing)...
