  7. One could change the look of the assualt boats but not the the speed and such. that is all hard coded and not changeable.
  8. That is why I used Mr. Lewis as an example, and yes I probably should of used exempli gratia instead of id est. I still say that Jerry is a Dork. possibly one of the largest.
  9. Xavier, dork (dôrk)n. Slang. A stupid, inept, or foolish person. Dorky adj. I.E. Jerry Lewis in any of his movies. [ June 05, 2002, 04:56 PM: Message edited by: Dogface ]
  10. mccobler, If ya got a Micro$oft OS then, Go here for a primer on peer to peer networking, IMHO tho just taking the HDD out of the old machine and making it a slave, then transfering it that way is easier and faster than going out and buying a cross-over cable, resetting networking components on each machine, rebooting, doing it all over again cause you forgot to change the workgroup or something.
  11. Hey, here is a good link for micro$ofts knowledge base. it might help some all I could find tho was to replace your Iepeers.dll file which is some work hope this helps
  12. hey, What OS are you using? Do you get any error messages? Does opening the file dropdown menu then selecting print work? [ January 30, 2002, 01:32 PM: Message edited by: Dogface ]

  15. Ok sarge, You use windows I take it. Just pay attention where the zip file is downloaded, you should be given the option of where to put it. then just double click on teh program, this will open win-zip, and the ziped file. just highlight the file i.e. click once then click on the extract button this will open another window then just make shure that teh path goes to your Combat Mission scenario Folder my path is C:\games\combatmission\scenerios then you should be ok.. fi it helps here is a pic
  16. grey collar w/ red tabs and three birdies?? that would ba a Hauptmann in paratroops or Air crew, IIRC the number of birdies = the class. That is I think that what it is a Uniform Grog can probably provide more info.
  17. sounds like a driver problem. If the voodoo pci card works w/out installing new drivers, did you remove the Voodoo drivers before you installed the Aopen Geforce2 MX400 card?? its just a theroy but it has cropped up before
  18. After doing a i found this from BTS <blockquote>quote:</font><hr>posted 12-07-1999 04:47 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Los, very well put. The basic problem we had is ASL/CC/etc. on one hand, and lack of direct evidence of use on the other. I think we can safely say that smoke for squads was not used for concealment to the degree that other games allow you, so this means restricting it in CM. Since we think that the use was *so* limited, we decided it was best to leave it out altogether. The few cases we could find where SOP and accounts went hand in hand in support of smoke grenades was during planned bunker cleaning by carefully executed and time consuming tactics (i.e. not on the fly like CM simulates). One reason why I personally feel smoke for concealment was, in practice, quite rare is that the smoke produced from them was of limited use unless several were used in circumstances that were favorable (i.e. no wind, not in the open, etc.) I know that the German Squad Manual talks about shooting blindly into smoke when it appears, and that could also be a BIG reason why it wasn't used like other games would have you believe. Hell, if I was an MG gunner, and I saw smoke pop in a position that I knew the enemy was in, I would unload in that area for sure! Anyhoo, if anybody can convince us to add smoke later, it will be Los His research skills are excellent, as is his dedication to find out what really went on.
