Not sure what the problem is
Dogface replied to Ralph Beaman's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
the chip is a Voodo banshee, they have drivers but reccomend the board manufactures drivers. i found this site quantum3d support but no drivers specific to your card (raven) also i had some problems early on but when i upgraded to directx8 it solved it. anyway i hope this helps some -
some do some dont, some even tell you on the first boot screen. 99% of the time just open yer case and look should be printed somewhere usually by the ISA slots or by the main chip..

Were AT-dogs actually effective?
Dogface replied to Smack's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Well as dog is in my name i think ill chime in.. if i remember correctly they were only used a few times.. they way the red army trained them was to have them accociate the undersides of tanks w/ food....BUT they trained them w/ red army tanks so the poor dogs run out on the battle field see a tank and whammo - but the dogs only accociated the red army tanks w/ food so blammo scratch one soviet tank -
Are you serious??????? ****snip **** oh ok never mind i see what you mean an acual order you can give to rotate turret.... Micro Management!!!!!! ahhhhhhh as if i dont get enough at work.... all though the turret does move during the turn ie hunt command tank to left turret rotates then hull or an ambush mabey... Dogface replied to Red Comrade's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
there is a great sceen in the movie 'KANAL' about the last days of the resistance in the Warsaw Ghetto where the germans send one out and one of the Resistance fighters jumps behind the thing and hits the wires w/ an entrenching tool. -

The truth about getting unbogged
Dogface replied to Crockett's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Well I'm no tanker, but i would imagine that the more crap you have under yer tracks the better grip you get i.e. trees/brush/wheat = protective (if you will) layer over dirt grass = sod that gets easly churned up by armor expopsing dirt mud et all... -

sorry Phillies Phan, but from what i know about SiS chipsets and integrated controlers is that they arent verry good for 3D acceleration.. bad news for home users but great for busnesses cause less hardware troubleshooting, from what i know the 630 chipset is more than just a graphic chipset it also controls the audio and i think acts as a south bridge. a quote from toms Hardware Guide: What should be evident is that none of these chipsets is a 3d powerhouse and the SiS630 is singularly feeble. Again, don't buy systems based on these chipsets if gaming or high end 3d performance are your important considerations for you. In overall visual quality, the Aladdin 7 bested the i810E and the SiS630. For instance, both the i810E and the SiS630 suffered intermittent black holes in the sky in the 3dMark Helicopter demo. for more info heres a link TOMSHARDWARE
