2.
quote:
Originally posted by Tiger: AT teams are not the same as infantry weapons. It has a much slower rate of fire compared to rifles, smgs, etc. They can not fire on the move (i.e. from the hip) so you have to really plan their movements carefully. A hunt command would not help here either, as AT weapons are not generally fired "from the hip" as you move. Try moving your AT teams under cover and in smaller increments instead of like infantry. ~Tiger

IMO, 10-15 seconds are enough time, but thats a relativ question.

 4. They do? Then I want to know why that damned AT-team don't stop and fire on the tank that was moving in 25 m away right in their LOS. Intead they run closer and get killed by the tanks machinegun... Before someone ask : YES, they realy could see the tank, and NO, they was NOT out of ammo.
 5. BTW, I want to know why my AT-tems see a tank moving in only 25 meters away, but prefer to wait and get killed instead to kill that damned tank.
 6.
quote:
Originally posted by Old Crow: You wouldn't want your squad stopping to cook up a mess of rabbits, would ya?

If it's a rabbit with a gun... But that don't answer my question

 8. The manual says about the 'Hunt' order: Move at medium speed, stop when enemy target spotted and engage enemy until destroyed or out of sight. That sound to me like something that can be done by infantery, too. Very interessting for AT-teams. I'm sure that has been discussed already hundret times, but...
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by Guy w/gun: Thank you Scipio for not reading my follow up post. If you'll notice I even go so far to state that the belief that Capitol punishment isn't murder is "at best Hipacritical (sic)" In other words, I'm criticizing myself for that statement. Before you insult someone or there country, make sure you read any and all of there follow-ups. You never know, they might just have retracted an earlier statement they realized was invalid. Thanks [This message has been edited by Guy w/gun (edited 01-17-2001).]

Sorry, no offense against you personally. I'm sure there are enough people that like the capital punishment. Your next president is one of them.
 10.
quote:
Originally posted by Guy w/gun: And to me Murder is not putting an end to the life of those who do murder. Murder often takes place during war, and those people are war criminals and should be hung.

Is this the mathematic that's teached in USA? One kill + one kill = 0 kills?
 11.
quote:
Originally posted by Elijah Meeks: And it's not that simple, Scipio. The American Ideal won the war, so America is wrong (Or haven't you noticed how much we've criticized ourselves for our conduct with Hiroshima, the Phillipines, the indigenous peoples of the Americas, minorities, et cetera.) We've bashed ourselves more than the combined intellectual elite of Europe could in 100 years.

LOL, you should what German politics say nearly everyday about Germany and the 'special responsibilty' we have because of our history.
 12. My opinion is no offense versus soldiers of any nation who has fought in war (my father was one of them). America has started or intervened in many wars, always saying they're fighting for the freedom of the world. Of course, that what America told to be freedom. Fact is: America has won the war vs Germany, so Germany was the guilty. America has won the war vs Russia, so Russia was the offender. History is always and only written by the winners. Something else: Germany has murdered 6 millions of yews. And 20 Million Russians. What have the yews learned from their own history? They go to Palestine, what's okay. They take the land from the people who lived there. Some of them see themselves as God's chosen peoples. I guess they have learned a lot from us Germans. But not the right things. Well, sorry for the sermon. I should better do some games then to talk about things I don't understand in a language that is not my own. Cheers
 13. I always wonder who dares to throw **** on Germany or Russia : our beloved Americans, murders of million Indians, Vietnamese, Philippines, Africans... only the top of the iceberg.
 14. Where are the magnetic hollow charge, (don't know the English name) Panzerwurfmine and 'Geballte Ladung'? They were very common in German units, and I guess in Allied units, too, otherwise the Germans hadn't developed Zimmerit covering for their tanks. Why don't we have a 'Hunt' command for infantry units? And, why can't I order an assault, especially for infantery? Okay, I can order to 'Run', but I guess it's not what I expect... Scipio
 15. Intalled Mouse driver, problem still excist. Installed AGP-port driver, without result. Reinstalled windows and ALL drivers - the same. This is my desperatest hour. I guess I should buy a rope. Life is sensless when CM won't run perfect.
 16. Yes, it's defenetly running from the HD. Mouse/keyboard : I already thought it could be only a mouse problem - nope. Mouse is working correct. BTW, it's a Microsoft wireless, and I havn't noticed problems in other programs. When I try it with the keyboard...mh hope I find right words (I'm German): If I pan the camera with the keyboard, the screen moves very fast (to fast) where the pan with the mouse stumbles. It's a bit like jumping over the scen. BTW, the same when I move the camera forward, backwards, left or right. The problem in occurs also my secondary windows installation where no background programs like virus scanners are running. [This message has been edited by Scipio (edited 01-14-2001).]
 17. I noticed that my system still have problems to run smooth when I move the camera and a lot of units come into my LOS. The more different units, the stronger is the effect. Of course, a lot of textures must be loaded...but my machine is a Thunderbird-1000 with 256MB Ram and an Asus Geforce2 GTS 64MB. Can't be the driver or graphic card, I have downloaded the Detonator 3 driver from NVIDIA yesterday again, but it was already correct installed. I've also tested various solutions and have the same problem at 640x480. Without sound and all details off and the lo-res original graphics... Only for clarification : the game runs smooth in all solutions and the biggest scenarios - as long as I don't move the camera, but if I move, it seems my cameraman stumbels over the battlefield when units come in LOS, sometimes also houses, trees... I've already run 3dmark2000 benchmark, result 7090 points, what can be expected with this hardware. I've also no problems with 3dshooters in 1600x1200 and 32bit color. Ideas? 18. Can't be (I guess), I have downloaded the Detonator 3 driver from NVIDIA yesterday again, but it was already correct installed. Only for clarification : the game runs smooth in all solutions and the biggest scenarios - as long as I don't move the camera, but if I move, it seems my cameraman stumbels over the battlefield when units come in LOS. Same with the unenhanced original graphics. I've already run 3dmark2000 benchmark, result 7090 points, what can be awaited with this hardware. I've also no problems with those 3dshooters in 1600x1200 and 32bit color. [This message has been edited by Scipio (edited 01-14-2001).]
 19. I like the idea. BTW, the VLs are a bit to important in the game. IMO, of course.
 20. Yo, I noticed that my system still have problems to run smooth when I move the camera and a lot of units come into my LOS. The more different units, the stronger is the effect. Of course, a lot of Textures must be loaded...but my machine is a Thunderbird-1000 with 256MB Ram and an Asus Geforce2 GTS 64MB. So, is this normal?
 21. Yo, what happen in an operation with units if leave the map? Will I have them back in the next battle, or will they be gone for the rest of the operation?
 22. LOL [This message has been edited by Scipio (edited 01-13-2001).]
