  1. So you can run a C pattern on any infantry you find in the open without firing off your loaded round. Probably helped with ranging too.
  2. So would prospective cultists need any skills, or would blind obedience alone suit?
  3. The jeep rush o doom. Your jeep(s) moving at inanely fast speeds, zips around the battlefield hoping for something to shoot at it. it continues doing this until one of those things actually hits it.
  4. Yes. Surrender you damned emerald scum and you shall be forgiven for your trespasses against the people. Eventually the isle shall grow peaceful, and we will mothball our KV-2s because no-one thinks there'll be another big war. Thus, over the course of a few years, you will have taken them down.
  5. I'm fairly sure it is a client side problem now. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. [ September 10, 2003, 07:39 PM: Message edited by: Thermopylae ]
  6. And from the looks of it, if you could include the 1.02 and 1.03 patches, that'd be helpful too since I apparently "can't find" all the dl pages.
  7. Fun fun tech people decided it was time to re-image our hard drives, and I forgot cmbb patches were cumulative. As it happens, the old sites which hosted the patch don't seem to be working. So, if you do, please send a copy to timothy.hodge@usma.edu
  8. And why call it a clan? Thats just asking to drive away grog-folk. Especially since the vast majority are probably not into dressing themselves up w/ranks and such.
  9. Rather the commander was left to do the gunnery. He'd ride about doing the commander thing until the shooting time came, at which point he'd drop down and be a gunner. This naturally made command and control rather impossibly hard when fighting was under way.
  10. I dunno, If I get a tank Id which dissapears, it usually doesn't chnage my plans too much.I'll roll on my initial plan, but now with knowledge that the enemy has armor.
  11. Alternatively, aim for the ground 3m to the left or right of the gun.
  12. I reccommended a change for this once upon a time. It was a random historical battle generator. The player could set the time, size ( but NOT points..say company, company+, etc) place, division types facing off, and even the force mix I suppose. Then the game selcts from a variety of historically accurate OOBs, (for say a common Guards Armor company in the central region in june 42), tweak it a little so nothing is cookie cutter, assign artillery and extra support, then poof tghe battle is made. Quick note, for armor, tanks would be randomized according to their presence in the region and their doctrinal use. Both sides would pop out with more realistic, but not consistently the same, forces.
  13. As to the infantry assualts... The only time I've actually seen infantry assualts work is in city fighting (building to building) and when you can hit the enemy from a flank while another unit pours fire into them from 100m or so.
  14. Apparently with regards to the AH-64s, they got so shot up by men with smalla rms precisely because they were men with small arms. They were firing from rooftops and the such, and the ROE prohibited the use of really heavy firepower on buildings which might still have civilians in them.
  15. ...Or more appropriately, a crash landing. Or maybe just a crash. Either way it was rather bright, fiery, and ultimately short. Anyhow, I kept walking despite the hideous unearthly scream that sounded rather much like a festering daemon/second grader, until...
  16. Yes, West Point bought up enough Steel Beasts copies to equip a couple full sim labs. And it seems the computers come pre-loaded with TacOps.
  17. Thats actually a great quote...and by this point in the game, we're definitely into the last portion of it. While we're on the topic, could I covince you to a PBEM game wallybob?
  18. Horrible, evil, and thrice cursed day! I have lost 15 men, and throught them and entire paltoons trogn point, to two, count TWO rounds of cannister. oh yes, they ar ein foxholes in deep pines woods... but does that stop the dread canister round NOOOOO....^%*&^(*dfekrf$^%&86834rgdjd#ey3et GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH         ROAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! {rips shirt in two} canister...foxholes...intact platoon..wooods..cannister...the horror..two rounds...the horror...
  19. ARRRGRGGGGGJHHHHHHHHHHHGGAAARRRRGGHHHHHHHH!!!!! Myself and Goodale continue to be locked in a battle of not-qiuite-epic proprtions! Fiery death has consumed anothe rone of my panzer IIIs, though of course, at least a platoon og russian tankers met bloody, horrible fates in the mean time, and by my count so have another 20 odd soviet riflemen. You could almost here them begging for an end to it all, screaming as their guts were mangled in a blatantly stupid charge...its ok, we'll leave them to bleed out cursing goodales name...
  20. Send a turn! Do it now! I wish to resume the horrible destruction, complete with the weeping, the screaming and gnashing of teeth which you are sure to experience! GRAGAGAGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   (oh if anyone else wants a festival o exploding death and spleens, please say so. My PBEM times are somewhat random, but the game will get done. eventually)
