  1. These guys never cease to amaze me. I have never seen a developer ask its users about information to use in agame. Keep up the great work! Gen
  2. Mensch: I am not arguing the merits of a fighter\bomber in a 5000 point game. I was expecting it fully. But I am wondering why they would wait 15-16 turns to show up on the scene. And why they only showed up after the Tigers and Panthers started moving. That seems a bit strange to me. Gen
  3. Actually Pak40 in the game where they stuck around for 17 turns it was a 2000 poiint game. The other 2 games of the 4 were 1500 pointer games I believe. Gen

  5. I must have bad luck then cause in the numerous occasions they have shown up on the scene they always make thier mark No the 250/9s didnt fire. But honestly can not tell you if they would have given the opportunity. They were off harassing the backside of the allied assualt and not anywhere near my tanks. I just found it rather strange they only showed up 2 turns after my heavy armor started to move. And this was turn 17 or 18. Gen
  6. Um I beg to disagree. I have played about 8 QBs agains the CPU in the last 2 months. 4 of the times they had Fighter\Bomber, one of the games they stuck around for over 17 turns killing almost everything I had before I had to go somewhere I only wonder how many more turns they would have stuck around. Today I lost 2 Panthers, 2 Tigers, an 88 and then said enough is enough. They showed up within 2 turns of my Heavy armor moving out of the scattered trees. Gen

  8. Again me and my Fighter\Bomber problems. Today I was playing a 5000 point match against the AI for a kick. Well I ended up purchasing 2 panthers, 2 Tigers, 2 Stuhs, and a Hetzer. I also grabbeb 8 250/9s and alot of other crap. I was on the defensive Anywho I was fighting away trading punches with my 88s and hetzer vs about 11 varied allied units. Since my 88s were not hitting anything even at 250 meters! That maye it was time to bring in the armor. So I brought the 2 panthers closer to the action and let the tigers duke it out at longer ranges like 1400+ meters. Knowing the comp I thought it would have fighter bombers but on turn 17 felt it safe enoough to come out and play. After all I had guns and 8 HTs, and a Hetzer running around the map. I figured they shouldhave attacked those things by now. Anywho just as my two panther start engaging the Armor I see the god forbidden shadows of planes. Booom both Panthers rendered worthless. 1 imobile, the other lost its gun. Next turn they knock out a tiger and kill my 88, then the next turn after that 1 more dead tiger and that strafe my HTs good. So I guess my question is do the fighter\bombers only show up on the scene when heavier armor shows up? And do they always make thier mark? I mean they never miss! Then on a side note would there be any reason why a 75 spotter would take 5 mins to target an area about 1100 meters in front of him with a clear LOS? Gen
  9. I have the same exact idea. Personally I am not sure if it would be profitable to make such a beast. Personally I would love it and I would buy it. But if this would be made I would like to have the ability to have the Soviets fight the Brits\Americans Gen
  10. Heeeelllllll noooooooo! It is like the V for V series from atomic. CM2 is just a deifferent theater of operations and no way in hell am I going to just give up on CMBO. I cant play on the western front in CM2! Also will not have an almost free riegn on the battlefield in CM2 with my Panthers! Gen
  11. Best tank IMHO has to be the Panther G. Pretty good slope, can kill anything in the Allies arsenal, and really not that bad against Infantry. Use it more as a terror weapon. Not invulnverable but pretty close. Churchills can kill it with one lucky shot But most of the time they do not have many C rounds to worry about. Then I would say the Hetzer is another good bargain. 83 points but it can kill most allied armor. If use right they can wreak havoc on an allied player. Then I would say the Firefly, good tank if you keep it moving Do not let it stop or expect it to be squashed by a cat. Gen
  12. 250/9s would make quick work of those pesky things. I think even HMG 42s can beat up on them. Once he has found you move you men out of there and let him waste Arty on a tree line. But get some small arms AT and you should be fine. NEver waste AT guns on small worthless vehicles like that unless it is a desperate measure. I once used a 88 Flak to track a sherman all over the right side of the map just rotating and hiding. Never did I fire cause I wanted my Stugs to take care of it. If all else failed I would have opened up on it. It worked for me. one of my 250/9s killed the gun on the sherman LOL! And then I rotated my 88 about 120 degrees to wait for his priest and Sherman 105. 1 turn later perfect LOS through a patch of trees and a dead sherman. He never knew my 88 was there. If I would have opened up too early that 88 would have been dead. And my remaining stug had a 50/50 chance of killing that 105. Short 75 rules are harsh on the Germans! As for the cromwells, get em in close and smoke them with Fausts. Good luck. Gen
  13. I do not think running out of ammo is very realistic either in a 30 min battle. I believe most squads could go hours before they would need a resupply. I hope they change this in CM2. Gen
  14. I have been using 250/9s for my recon. It has a turret which is nice. You can fly around shooting up troops. German HTs are easy pickings for 50 cals though Gen
  15. You can already set time limits on TCP games. Sometimes I like it in smaller battles where you can manange your turns in 5 mins. But these are never above 2000 point games. I once played a 1250 point ME in TCP that had a time limit set to 2 mins. It sucked raw donkey ballz. I was running around like I was in Starcraft all over again. I did not like it at all. 5 mins is perfect for me and most of my opponents. It usually helps make sure the game actually gets finished in 1 night Gen
  16. Yup this is the common ME game. Try a defend or attack game. In general ME games are probably meant to be gamey. I really do not know of many battles where the germans and Allied forces were rushing to capture un captured objectives at the same time. Gen
  17. God when I was a kid my friends and I would run upto bengamin franklins and grab hundreds of miniature army men with tanks and use my railroad set as the battlefield. It was actually quite a fun time. When I got the demo of CM the first thing that came to mind was my firends and I. Hence the reason I loved this game so much at first. Of course the realism has turned me on a bit more now. But miniatures are fun IMHO also. Both CM and Miniatures IMHO have the same roots. Just CM plays a bit faster on a larger scale Gen
  18. This is a lot better than trying to compete with someone who plays 4-5 TCP/IP games a day. " Damn who are these people?!?!?!?!?!? I play at TH and Ill be lucky to get 1 game anight in. Anywho I joined to find a ready supply of human opponents. I do not see the purpose of having a second tier for PBEM players. What happens when you mix and match?!?!?!?!?!?!? Should we then make a third tier for PBEM\TCP players?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? If you are so worried about your ranking then maybe you should take a look at why you play the game. The only reason I use the ranking system is to get an idea of how good my opponent is. If they are in the lower rankings like sub 900 then I usually try to experiement a bit more. If they are 1100+ then I bring what I know usually works. My ranking is like 950 and I could care less. I play for the fun of it Gen
  19. That war was not for or against communism. Hence, the "sides" were not communist and anti-communist." Huh? This is common ideology knowledge that the Nazis and Communists were on opposite ends of the spectrum. This was all about Nazism trying to eliminate the Communists. When the war started. People in Berlin were not surprised that it happened. They knew it had to. As for the partisans I could really care less since I am sure they will be about worthless on the battlefield that CM2 is going to simulate. Gen
  20. Two panthers working in tandem. Use my 250/9s to locate enemies armor and attack. Move my panthers into position. Hope to keep the fighting at 500 meters or more and pray my guys perform Sometimes they dont and well it makes my game that much harder! Gen
  21. Senor beef: If they ran out of shells maybe they were trying to get the thing stuck in the tracks????? Wish my troops were that resourceful LOL! Anywho welcome YECoyote to the best military game I have ever played. I sugges taking a breath every once in awhile. Especially when you play experienced players online. There may be nights you want to smash your own troops for being retarded pansies but remember. There will always be tommorrow Gen
  22. Redwolf. I am always towing my guns around. Of course alot of them never make to the point I need them to be at Stalins Organ: The 88 flak gun friggin fast on movement. You are probably thinking of the Pak\41. That gun looks like it has wheels and is a tradition field gun. The 88 Flak gun is on a stand it moves faster than any other gun I have see in this game. I used an 88 flak gun in a Short 75 game last week. If you have recon the flanking manuevers are nulled. I tracked my opponents Sherman on the right side of the map while hiding the gun. Just making rotates and hides. Then I got the gun knocked off of the sherman and knew a Sherman 105 was completly to the opposite side of the gun. It had to turn a good 120 degrees. I rotated it and one turn later it was in place and so was his tank. I opened up at 500 meters and killed it on the first shot. Not bad for an 85 point gun. He never even saw the thing until it struck Anywho I think the best gun in this game is either the Pak41\43 or the 88 Flak. Though I lean more towards the 88 Flak just because it is only 85 points and will kill almost anything on the battlefield. Unless your opponent bought a Super Pershing\Pershing or Jumbo or Chruchill. And if that happens I can always have my Panthers take care of that. The 88 flak is actually not that bad against infantry either. How to use these things? To tell you th truth I am still getting the hang of it. For my AT weapons I still try to get them the best area to cover. For my other guns I try to find a good high point with tree coverage and hope for the best. Most guns will not last long after found so you them when you know they will be worth it. Gen
  23. I had a HT knocked out by an Allied 57 AT gun yesterday. That doesnt surprise me. But what does surprise me is my HT was bhind a house! First how in the hell can a gun find a target that is hiding, 1000 meters away and is behind a house?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Of course then the game got better. I knocked out a Scout car at 500 meters with my HMG 42, my HT knocked the gun out of a Sherman with its 20 mm gun, and my opponent could not ever find my dual HMG 42s sitting in a building. He was taking hits left and right from them but never could find them. Gen
  24. Remember in the early parts of the war the armor was not that thick on either side. So some crude weapons like the 88 flak and some lighter AT weapons will probably do the trick. The thing that will be interesting once they get to the early part of the war is the German players like myself will have to use tactics to kill Allied armor with our PZIIs and PZIIIs No more just standing off and picking off Allied armor with Panthers! Gen
  25. Ahh hence the reason you need infantry support for your tanks. This is a common newbie mistake Tanks are not all that tough if put into close quarters combat with an infantry squad. Keep him back and pound the target. Churchills and Cromwells are better at killing infantry because of thier bigger guns. Gen
