1. Frankly, if an AP round penetrated my tank and decapitated (or otherwise blew away) my bow machine gunner/driver/loader/whatever), I would get the heck out of Dodge in a hurry. That would be a major blow to my morale, espcially if it could have been me. And based on reports I've read, that occurred more times in WW2 than you can count. Keep in mind I am referring to Shermans being penetrated.
2. That is correct. Schrecks, zooks, mortars, pistols, and tracers are all hard-coded and cannot be touched.
3. Interesting question... The trees are better to hide in, but run the risk of artillery airbursts knocking you out. The wall will provide better cover from direct fire, but lacks some of the cover for the hiding benefit. It may come down to which position gives you a better field of fire. That's what i would take into consideration.
4. As an alternative to surrender... if you know you are losing, you can ask your opponent for a cease-fire.
5. Unfortunately you cannot assign squads to a different platoon leader. They will not get any command benefit from a different plt leader other than the one they start with. However, you can do as Holien suggests, and assign squads to a company or battalion leader.
6. I have not noticed it with larger caliber gunned tanks, such as Shermans or PzIV's, but strangely enough I have seen it with Stuarts. They refuse to fire the main gun at infantry unless specifically ordered to, just like you said.
7. 7.something is the official... but it does work with DX 8.0
8.
quote:
I have all those you have plus hp sniffers, some cisco routers and more. Umm, oh yeah, I have beta tested for at least 25 companes in the past year. A lot more if you go back. I have hardware certifications from IBM, Compaq. Toshiba. etc etc.

And you still have time to come up with Evil scenarios?
9. There were reports of troops targeting IT being unable to take it out with small arms fire, and a thread or two devoted to that. I however have not seen that problem, and IIRC BTS (ie Madmatt) was unable to recreate it. I could be wrong though about the recreating part.
10. I use AIM and ICQ. Aim is easy to use, and is rarely down. ICQ seems to be a memory hog though, not to mention taking up quite a bit of HD space.
11. Sorry Rob, but Clinton is correct. Same principle applies to shells exploding on concrete. On the reverse though, deep snow or mud tend to muffle the explosive effect.
12. StellarRat, can you elaborate? In a QB, all your units are along your baseline, in the order they were purchased. It's fairly easy to find the HQ's in that respect.
13. Try sending an email to matt@battlefront.com with name, address, and I think he likes credit card expire date as well, and he'll check on it for you.
14. Roughly 7 to 10 days. Could be shorter or longer though by a few. I ordered it the month it came out last year, and received it in about 5 days. And I also live in the midwest.
15.
quote:
bald dependent

You put that in, and you'll have to pay royalties to Madmatt Either that, or get sued by him for copyright infringement
16. The Jackson is a nice tank destroyer, but it has paper-thin armor compared to most other tanks. Its 90mm gun can take out just about every German tank there is, but it Cannot go toe-to-toe with a German AFV. Use hit and run tactics with it. Use cover and speed to avoid return fire, or it will die quick.
17. Given that many people have asked for a variety of tweaks and twitches in the game system, and BTS's answer that they will not be in CM2 (eg Relative Spotting among others)... Do you think it might be a better idea to go right into the rewrite of the game engine after CMBB that to write CM3 and 4? I was just pondering this after reading a few threads, and am interested in what others think.
18. Did the Soviets receive any Lend-Lease M16 AA ht's? If they did, then that would certainly be an excellent reason to include it in CM2.
19. "As for the Navy well... all they had was battle ships... what on earth do those junk heaps do?" -Well, they Navy also had 5 CV's in the Pacific at the time (Lexington, Saratoga, Enterprise, Yorktown, and the venerable Langley), and an impressive submarine force. So saying ALL they had was BB's is sort of wrong. As for what do they do? I see you haven't used 14" guns in a CM battle yet.
20. Rune's Tin Tanks is also a good scenario with the Poles.
21. <<Yes, i realize there'll be no AVRE's in CMBB>> I don't know about you, but the KV-2 with a 152mm gun sort of takes the AVRE's place, IMHO.
22. I had that same question a while back. It turns out that Airborne squads have the biggest variety of weapons (ie what weapons are being held by the three figures).
23. IIRC he just didn't have the time to keep the site up and running. I believe the DFDR site does have most of the mapboards for ASL converted over to CM though.
24.
quote:
Originally posted by Panzerman: So whats your point? You are more important then CM? I would have to say...no! [ 06-06-2001: Message edited by: Panzerman ]

***Boots Panzerman back into the pool of Cess*** She is just as important as CM. My enjoyment has increased tenfold since I started using the 3-d hamster faces  Happy Birthday Kitty! [ 06-06-2001: Message edited by: Ellros ]
