  1. Which is why FoW is marketed as a GAME, not a SIMULATION. It gets historical results, even though the method and mechanics of getting those results is not as realistic as a simulation. FoW was never meant to be a simulation, and it doesn't try to be. FoW was also designed as a tournament-capable game system able of being played in 2-3 hours for a typical game. And most people know... FoW + TMP = disaster. The grogs on TMP hate FoW with a passion, because they are pure simulation players and cannot get their heads around the idea that FoW is a GAME.
  2. The CM1x series are the closest computer games to Flames of War you will ever find. The Close Combat series is not the same, but CM is. You can literally make your tabletop force in a CM scenario. And CM is a good map-making reference for the tabletop. Rob - old-time CM player and Flames of War playtester.
  3. Separate Nvidia video card? Or Nvidia integrated graphics? You need to enable "fog tables" in the Nvidia options. It must be an Nvidia chipset. ATI cards won't show the fog
  4. I'll bet it's an overheating problem. All the CM games make my computer run about 4-5 degrees hotter than when I run anything else.
  5. Check the setup zones in the editor. That might have something to do with it.
  6. Turn on a light next time you take screenshots. Lots of active beavers in them scenarios eh?
  7. Are the scenarios in the correct folder? And are they unzipped? (many scenarios come compressed to save space and bandwidth when downloading).
  8. At a guess... the typical standard for a brand new computer game these days... ie about $50 US.
  9. I'm posting this question due to a problem my opponent is having in our PBEM game. I am having no problems viewing the movie turns, but when he views them, it jumps in 10 second intervals, so he misses a lot of critical activity. EDIT: After a search of the tech support forum, it appears it's most likely related to drivers, so I'll pass than on to my opponent and have him update them. 10. Aren't there various mods for the background terrain?
  11. The fact that you enjoy water sports is more than we need to know. Although the Justicar might be interested.
  12. HEAT round. Pretty much the modern equivalent of the ww2 HE round.
  13. Could be. Sounds suspiciously like a graphics issue. But I'm sure one of the better techie people can give a better answer.
  14. Which reminds me Joe … who is this Ellros (bold? Mangle?)? He/she is not mentioned in your website you see. I know your babble shouldn’t have reminded me of that… but it did… my mind, you see, moves in MYSTERIOUS ways… </font>
  15. Trying for top prize at Coney Island this upcoming 4th eh?
  16. Not sure about the Dell issue, but all the psu's I've used have been pretty much the same size (except my current one, but that's because it's part of the liquid cooling system I use now).
  17. All vehicles are hard-coded into the game. You cannot add any more unless you hack the code (which would be frowned on, even if you could). You'd then have to create the vehicle with wire-drawings, skins, etc. Pershings saw actual combat starting in March 1945. I take it you've never seen the film of a Pershing and Panther stalking each other in Cologne, Germany? Pretty common on various documentaries on the History Channel. 18. Those are hard-coded and cannot be modded. You can mod the tracers though.
  19. Many times, and many people. The General Discussion section has more threads about it.
