  1. Also, it's rated E for Everyone. How could a game like this get an E rating? I realize there is no blood, but there is still lots of death and destruction.
  2. CMBO is a great game. It's stock graphics are not as good as CMBB's, but you can download plenty of mods to make it look better, although those mods don't affect game play. CMBO lacks a few of the enhancements that made their way into CMBB, such as more effective machine guns, covered arcs, and armor command and control, but you probably won't miss these features until you become rather familiar with the game. You will have a much easier time with your infantry as the battlefield has become more leathal in CMBB. It may be hard to go back to CMBO after playing CMBB, but starting with CMBO will give you a chance to learn the way the game works in a more forgiving environment.
  3. If you want to fast forward through the movies, maybe CM is not for you. Watching the movies over and over to see what happened and to replay the cool stuff is one of the best features of CM. Also, you don't have to win to enjoy the game. Some of the scenarios are very historic and don't give you a very fair chance of winning depending on what side you play. If you are new to wargames I suppose you are probably not all that familiar with WWII history in general, especially the forces involved. You might want to get learn a bit about the armored fighting vehicles of WWII so you know what your vehicles are capable of. Understanding each vehicle's strengths and weaknesses can greatly enhance your chance of victory. There are plenty of sites on the net that can provide a good education without having to buy any books. [ December 20, 2002, 01:22 AM: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ]
  4. If you had buttoned up you wouldn't have this concussion from which you seem to be suffering. On topic, I agree completely. This has been discussed before, but I don't remember what BFC's response was, if any. Incidentally, I recently saw a program on TV where they interviewed several WWII tankers. One said they never completely buttoned up since they were virtually blind if they did so. He said at the most they left the hatches slightly cracked.
  5. Cable. I would have replied sooner, but my service was out for the past two days.
  6. I thought this was supposed to be fixed in 1.01. Have you applied the patch? Edit: maybe the fix did not apply to operations. [ December 09, 2002, 08:02 PM: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ]
  7. laxx, can you make that outfit CMMOS compatable so we can have different versions of the leg mesh?
  8. The Panzer IV id is not certain, as indicated by the "?" It may be something more dangerous. But I agree that tanks tend to back off too quickly and frequently.

  10. That's the scenario where I lose *all* of my tanks. Very dry ground conditions certainly help the fire spread.
  11. There was supposed to be a 223S with a better suspension, more horse power, and better brakes, but the price was so high and the additional luxury tax made the damned thing too expensive for all but the wealthiest units.
  12. Photos of DD's mods can be seen here: http://www.pbase.com/dkr55555/dds_mods The DD5 is the latest image.
  13. Guy on the left, thinking to himself, "I wonder if I will win the auction for the Bren tripod on E-Bay."
  14. It's maize, not yellow. Shreks and fausts are hardcoded, thus they can't be modded.
  15. HFC Shadow, I think I see the ball I lost on the 9th hole!
  16. I thought you were past that point already. Can we lose the Sherman for a new IS-II model?
  17. A package, huh? Your wife wasn't "expecting," was she? You may be more surprised than you thought.
  18. Madmatt, I don't think Le Tonde is saying that CMBB was released before it was done or is an incomplete product. I think he is saying that it isn't "finished" until all the vehicles have their own models. If all the models are not done, it wouldn't be because you couldn't do it for technical reasons, but because BFC decided to move on to CM3. I tend to agree with him, but I understand where BFC is coming from. My hope is that most, if not all, the half track and ACs get their own models. 19. Here is an Acrobat version for anyone that has trouble with the Word version: CMMOS User Readme
  20. May I suggest some sporting events be included? I think the 100 yard heavy MG run and the 1,000 meter sneak would be fun.
