If I build it, will they come?
Pvt. Ryan replied to ColumbusOHGamer's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Manx had that database on his Combatmissions site. He started transfering the list to CMHQ but I don't think he ever finished. -
they wouldn't be so dinky if they were shooting at you.</font>

If you try to move your infantry in half tracks across open terrain you are going to be in for a world of hurt. Those Soviet AT rifles may not do much good against a Tiger, but they will quickly route or KO half tracks. The same goes for the dinky little 45mm AT guns. The main benefit is getting your infantry to the front line on a large map where the half tracks can hide behind treelines and hills. You also get the extra MG support once your troops have deployed and are ready to advance on foot.

Haunted Vehicle Bug in Operations
Pvt. Ryan replied to Pvt. Ryan's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Definitely not. It was well behind my lines and started moving as soon as I watched the movie on turn one. It looked like a vehicle coasting to a stop after it had been KO'd, not like a vehicle being slowly pushed out of the way. -

Most cable providers do not allow you to set up a server on your account at all. They usually provide customers with a small amount of space on their server, 5 or 10 MB. I think the excessive bandwidth you quoted was referring to downloads, not uploads. -
I am playing an operation. One of my Panthers suffered a damaged gun in the first battle. I withdrew the tank to the rear to increase it's chance of recovery. It was fast moving along a road towards the rear. It was still moving when the first battle ended. When the second battle deployment phase began the Panther was on the map as Abandoned, which is normal. When I played the first turn in the second battle the Panther started to move (still abandoned) along the path it was taking in the last turn of the first battle. It veered off the road and rolled to a stop as if it had just been knocked out. Freaky. I have the file saved if BFC wants it. [ October 15, 2002, 12:57 AM: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ]

That is really nice. What does the slogan say? What will it say when we read it backwards? -
What will those Russki's think of next?

Looks like Kramer driving the back of the ladder truck. He seems to have slipped off on the last turn. -
Guys, he is an environmentalist. He wants to plant new trees after he has burned down the woods; you know, spreading fires and stuff.

What’s really needed in the patch is…

I don't believe in naugacide - the killing of naugas. I would prefer fine Corinthian leather. -
Hitler. I mean, Nazis. I mean, Hi Mom!

Is there any way to get rid of fantasy WG?
Pvt. Ryan replied to illo's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I'm pretty sure there will be different versions of any patches although BFC has promised (IIRC) that they will be released at the same time and both would be available at the Battlefront website. -
When will the patch be done?
Pvt. Ryan replied to MrNoobie's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I'm sorry, but I don't think we will see that until the engine rewrite. -
Isn't that the problem with abusing the Advance command? When they get there, they 'can't act'.

How would putting the demo scenarios on the CMBB disk help? You would have to copy the whole disk to share the demo scenarios, and that would be a no-no. But I agree that the demo scenarios should be on the disk so people can play them if they want. I have't read the whole list of scenarios yet, so I am taking your word for it that they are not included.

I recently played a little QB myself to test out the KV-2. I believe it has 35 HE rounds plus a decent supply of MG ammo. There are two MGs - one on the front of the turret and one on the rear. The HE shells also do a number on AFVs.

Yea, that's the idea. The more that get it, the more success for BFC, the more for the rest of us </font>

I've had no problems with CMBB running under XP Pro. I don't know what trfink's problem is, but I'm sure Schrullenhaft will be along soon. I don't think he ever sleeps.

Yup, camera rotation is inferior.
Pvt. Ryan replied to AnonymousOxide's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Press the down arrow on the keyboard and rotate by moving the mouse to the upper right or left of the screen. That lets you reverse and turn at the same time.
