  1. Yes, yes, you did. A truly vile piece of work. Reminds me of my grandmothers infamous turkey butt stuffing. Too much ends up on the plate and they both lead to stomach cramping. Oh, and Nidan, I am fully v1.03 compliant. But I will be doing your turns in v1.02
  2. rune, send along another scenario, the last one didn't have enough cranberries.
  3. Is it time to celebrate The Fall again already? Cue the shrieking hags in the witch choir and begin the bacchanal! Er, no offense to the Ladies, natch.
  4. What's this? A Blood Hamster in some other game than CM? And monitored for "fairness"? WTF? Oh, the shame, the shame of it all. How the mighty have fallen and can't get up. On the other hand, Boo did bugger up his v1.03 install. Perhaps you two should do Minesweeper. Twits.
  5. King Tiger tank. Great tank, terrible strategic decision. Should have cranked out nothing but upgunned PzIV's You sure you want to do that?
  6. I stared at the empty bottles in the kitchen and said "Ooooog" a lot. When I woke up later that afternoon my mouth felt like Satan had taken a dump in a Brooklyn cabbie's mouth and that Brooklyn cabbie had turned around and forced me to drink too much and smoke too many cigars. Then I went "Ooooooog" a lot. </font>
  7. You can somewhat. Clever use of the pause command will allow you to get a squad on a vehicle and moving in one turn, as I said before. Example 1: Set a 30 second pause on the vehicle followed by a move or fast move. This gives the squad time to scramble on. On the next turn, give the squad orders to move off and when the vehicle gets to the end of it's move, the squad scrambles off. If necessary, because the vehicle arrived at the very end of the turn, give it another 30 second pause or it will zip off with the troops still on it. You've saved two turns over having everyone come to a full stop. Example 2: Your squad in a Bren carrier. Try to time it so it gets to the top of the hill just before the turn is over. Better yet, have the carrier stop just before the top so the troops can get out without having the crap shot out of them. A vehicle is a much bigger target and will be seen for sure. If the squad "sneaks" up the short distance to the top of the ridge, that MG might not even spot you at all. Hey, this all goes to hell if someone is shooting at you. It takes two or three squads to suppress a MG and all you did was give the MG a lone target. And at 300 meters where rifle fire ain't that great anyway. Look at the firepower tables and see where each unit is at it's best. Bring up more squads, get a mortar to put some indirect fire on it, or better yet, get a tank. You should have been around for CMBO when we were all complaining that MGs were too weak.
  8. A Quick Battle already does that. Just set the force type to something other than unrestricted.
  9. Sure, just wait until you need that bootleg copy of "Tales of the Texas Wank...er, Rangers", old man. Then we'll see. Yes, we will...
  10. To get a unit into a vehicle, drag the move command over one until you see "embark" Remember to give the vehicle a pause command or orders to wait till the squad's onboard. To get off a vehicle, just give the squad a move command. Again, you need to set a pause on the vehicle (or full stop) to allow them time to get out. For your machine gun problem, target one (or more) squad on the MG to keep it's head down, assault with the other. If you're within hand grenade range, do nothing, the squads will wipe it out.
  11. You dim bulb. This is how you can sell the same crappy DVD six or seven times. It's great for the economy!
  12. Gah, you're doing better than me, Moraine! I can't even find a shop that'll do it! We live in a toss and replace society these days. Nobody fixes these damn things anymore.
  13. It is abstracted in the form of original purchase price of the unit, plus a HQ to keep it going effectively, MPPs to reinforce it, and of course, the city, port, and resource hexes in the first place. You want to attack somebody's supply, attrit his units, destroy his HQ's or degrade those hexes. You could add a MPP cost to do attacks relatively easy I suppose, but then you'd need to increase the amount of MPPs available (or lower unit prices!) and everything would have to be playtested and balanced again. But really, the MPP cost is already there to some extent in the form of the cost to repair all the units that took place in your offensive. Would it be worth it? Or can you just live with the abstraction the way it is? I mean, bottom line, we'd just be substituting one way of adding up the numbers for another.
  14. Yeah, that one on Amazon would work, but you might have to wait a bit until they release the movie you want in Zone 0. It only plays Zone 1 and Zone 0. If that works for you, I or Lady Moraine could order it for you. But what I think you really want is a "code free" model, which plays all the zones. I think you'd be better off just ordering the bugger and finding a local shop to do the conversion. I know I won't be able to find one to do it here in Minneapolis. We're a long way from salt air.
  15. I can't find nothing on the web Winecape. The closest I can find is these guys and it isn't the exact model you want. Sony RDR-GX3 International Version PAL/NTSC Code Free DVD Recorder Hope Lady Moraine or Yankee can help you out. P.S. – Everybody, don't worry about Winecape doing a runner on you. He's a man of his word.
  16. Here's what you need to know, Lady Moraine. It's a mess, I know. As you can see, "Zone Free" doesn't really mean it can play anything. It just plays dvds that have been encoded for Zone 0. Hollywood's little protection racket at work here. I did find some code free players, but I'm still looking for that particular model. It probably is going to take a few phone calls...
  17. Winecape, as I understand it, that DVD on Amazon is Zone 1 and Zone 0 (will play uncoded dvds), not code free, which plays all zones. Still looking for you.
  18. Papa Kahn should be tied to a Calvary...er, cavalry....oh bugger, did it again...umm, a catapult.
  19. Weasel words, but you're learning fast. However, a bit of advice. Before aiming at the Justicar, it's sorta traditional to stab your sponsor in the back first. I mean, really, he's probably sobbing quietly to himself right now. And will be for a long time I suppose...
  20. To BOOT, or not to BOOT, that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The squawking and aggravations of a outraged Justicar, Or to take flamethowers against a host of Squires, And by flaming, end them?
  21. Shouldn't there also be a point where "elite" replacements are no longer available? Or at least severely limited? I mean, let's face it, by 1944 or 45 everybody was pretty tapped out on the replacement scale. No matter how much training you give them, the ear & stomach battalion is still the ear & stomach battalion.
