Kieme CMBS USA Abrams - tank names add-on
Ok, this might not be for everyone taste, so it's just an add on. If you want your tanks to display a nickname on the gun barrels (noticed this was the case in CMSF too) you just need to download this and put it in your mods folder.
I also noticed that US M1A2 SEPs in recent europe training had these nicknames stenciled on the gun barrel. I managed to find a nice font, very similar to the original one. The names are in White but not too large or bright.
Anyway, grab it if you like it, otherwise you can keep your M1s with no charisma at all.

The names vary from WW2 tributes, to obvious ones, to "cool" or actual ones, got a dirty one there, too.
Hope I didn't make any mistake.
The large file size is due to the number of textures... these should be enough to ensure a certain variety, although you might still get doubles (or blanks).

Kieme CMBS USA Abrams
Let's be honest, whatever modern game you get your hands on, you can't avoid to feel this one as the battlefield's king. That's why I was so undecided upon so many things that, in the end, I had to base most of the weathering on the few recent photos showing M1A2 SEPs in europe during joint trainings. Thanks also to Saferight's force specific screens mod and its good pictures.
The trickiest part is the side ERA/spaced armor. BFC should really differentiate between the turret blocks and the skirt ones, otherwise you ca't get mud on the lower blocks without splashing unrealistically all the blocks in the same way and the upper turret sides.

I think it's expected that we don't use a Z folder now.
For CMBS (and also CMRT and CMFI--everything after CMBN), the standard is for mods to go into the "Mods" folder in the Documents location, like so:
C:\Users\Admin\Documents\Battlefront\Combat Mission\Black Sea\User Data\Mods

Thanks guys.
After UA I'd go USA. First because their vehicles have already a nice camouflage, second because there are less vehicle types than RU. Moreover, RU vehicles have basic colors I don't like one bit, so I'd like to see if someone comes up with a solution to that first (changing the base color of the textures is very hard for me).

Hello everybody!
here comes a new adventure into modding CMBS.
I will use this forum thread only for all my mods, discussions, previews and releases, in order to avoid clogging the forums.
For now I can't to use CMMODS site because it does not support CMBS and I have no way to recover/reset my lost account; I don't want to use the official repository in its actual state; if you don't mind you'll find download links from a free upload site, at least for now.
I will add posts like: PREVIEW XXX or RELEASE XXX, toghether with screenshots, descriptions and download links. Feel free to comment, suggest improvements, point out mistakes or problems.
I'll try to post a summary from time to time with a list of released mods and downloads.
Now some words about my way of modding: as many others I mod for myself following my personal taste, therefore there's no claims about any mod if not that they follow my personal view and preferences. Generally speaking, I try to follow to some rules with all my mods such as: the use of more detailed textures, HD textures (2x or even 4x the original resolution size) when possible, more desaturated colors, use of photorealistic textures and decals.
My main interest has always been modular buildings and terrain modding, but I'll try to mod vehicles too.

Recall topic, here is a list of all the mods released until now, complete with download links.
Please be careful to distinguish High Definition (HD) and Standard versions (where not specified, consider it a Standard version).
HD mods are made using textures 2 times larger, in resolution, than the original game files, providing a much detailed view effect at close distance at the expense of computer resource usage, therefore HD mods can slow down your computer and should be used only if you have good FPS (frames per second); in case you can try to use them and see if your machine doesn't slow down too much.
Standard versions are there for those with less powerful computers, being of the very same resolution as the original textures they have no effect on FPS. There's no other difference between Standard and HD mods but for the resolution.
Please note that there's no ground mod standard version as per now, because it will take quite some work to be done well and for now it's not a priority.

Plans for next mods:
Vehicles!
Personally, I am very fond of the base color for Ukrainian vehicles, and I wouldn't change it too much. Weathering should be added to all vehicles, not too intense though.
Some vehicles might be Worth alternative camouflage (T-64 Bulat, T-84 Oplot).
US vehicles have a very nice camouflage already, they should get some weathering as well.
Russian vehicles, a mess. I really don't like most of the base colors, and might be waiting for BTR's mods before doing anything with them.
Infantry!
No intentions to mod infantry or uniforms. I feel like weapons could be weathered a bit to make them less "toy" like. otherwise I really like the uniforms, might be nice to add some of Aris' faces from other CM games.
I might desaturate russian camouflage, but that's just a personal taste.
Independent buildings!
Some of them are ok, some are not for me. I'd like to mod those but it takes a lot of time. Tanks a Lot barns should fit CMBS as well (the large ones for sure). It's Worth to try a port.
Bridges!
Could use a lot of love, tried modding them, but it takes a lot of time. Might do the road ones just for the sake of adding the same road type of the modded roads.
Flavor objects!
Yeah, not much to notice here, but the larger objects could use higher resolution textures.
More modular buildings!
add-on number 2 is already half ready, 4 more buildings which will bring the total to 16 options if creating a new scenario.
Another version of the modular buildings, with "combat effects", should be added as a [Tagged] version.
Highway!
Highway Tiles could be modded, but in my opinion the only good highway is the one going NS and EW... I could try to port a [tagged] mod to use those Tiles for airport and military installation scenarios.
