THumpre replied to Green Hornet's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
My own humble note of thanks to the Modders and Designers for sharing their talents with us all. -
Initial Impressions of Strategy Guide
THumpre replied to Terrapin's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Well, the game is certainly not unplayable without that information. However, personally I am of the opinion that basic stuff like how units recover from shaken status should have been included in the game manual.</font> -

Meeting Engagements are Absurd
THumpre replied to PeterX's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I'm still trying to figure out the point of PeterX's post. Well, actually not the point of his post but the point of him posting it. If you don't like MEs, don't play them, period. -
It is a little used, rarely effective flame-throwing thingie that, due a slight coding issue that makes it appear white, has gained a noteriety way out of proportion to its actual impact on the Eastern Theater...

Announcing my retirement from modding
THumpre replied to Gordon's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Gordon, Another hearty thank you for all the work you have done. Your mods have greatly increased my enjoyment of an already great game. Hope we hear from you soon. -
The early model T34 SUCKS!
THumpre replied to Head Mahone's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
The T34 did have "a little uummppff" to it, it just isn't a Panther or a Tiger. Exploit their strength, speed and cheapness, don't fight them like they were German mediums or heavies, and you you will find that they are a nasty surprise indeed... -
BTS pls!!! Auto-OFF of SOUND when plotting moves!
THumpre replied to Schoerner's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I just turn my speakers down a tad when I'm plotting....but that's just me. -
NO bug - buttoning up when enemy in LOS
THumpre replied to Juardis's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I'm glad to see this phenomenon myself, it highlights a real tactical disadvantage that the Russians had to contend with, and doesn't just make their "chance to hit" worse. -
I have a beach house so all I need is the ferrari and the cheese.....

First time poster and some questions,
THumpre replied to Chrono's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Welcome Chrono, I too have a fast machine(2.4Ghz)and the bigger maps can really "chug" Keep in mind that the size of the 3d environments are considerably larger than the size of even the largest UT map, especially when you consider how much of the map you see at any one time. -
Andreas, Nope, the English version just calls it a 76mm Bunker. My bad for figuring it would be an AT bunker like the German 75. Any ideas whynther are no Russian AT bunkers?
-
This is not a "Hey BFC, there is a great big bug thread" but.....What were the Russians thinking when they put a 76 L17 ATG in a bunker? I'm just curious since it seems like an awfullly short gun for a ATG.
-
So, what you are REALLY asking for is.......a Shrubbery!!! I know, it's cheap but I could pass it up....
