  1. Well first of all, they don't have to be standing on each other's heads to join back together. I believe with v1.1 they have to be within 10 meters. So basically what you are doing is that you are trying to run them together each turn and they aren't getting a chance to rejoin. Just have them within the 10 meter range at the end of a turn and they'll rejoin. The one incident you mention where it worked, probably didn't work the way you thought it did.
  2. You have to run the standard UK, CA, or PO batch files to get the noncamo versions to come back. But then of course, you have to have had Bergman's original Commonwealth Shermans installed to get the noncamo ones back. [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 01-26-2001).]
  3. ARGHH! Read the Battlefront.com Manifesto. It explains why BTS has chosen the on-line distribution method. For one it cuts out a hellava portion of overhead in having to pay for shelf space. Besides, ever hear of people talking about waiting for a game to go to a bargain bin? Well, when you sell over the Internet, there is no such thing as a bargain bin. Only the developer can lower the price. I will also go out on a limb here and say that BTS might lower the price of CMBO as the development of CM2 carrys forth. ------------------ "Live by the sword, live a good LOOONG life!"--Minsc, BGII "Boo points, I punch."--Minsc, BGII "Buttkicking for goodness!"--Minsc, BGII "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot. 4. Here's Gordon Molek's Winter work-in-progress screenshots. Here's the Stuart and Roo: Here's the Fireflys: Here's the M4 Shermans: Here's the UK Shermans:
  5. Gordon Molek is currently working on the Winter (Bergman) Shermans. His Fireflys are particularly nice. This pack is going to be different than that old Allied Winter pack from long ago. He's trying to make each style of white wash a little different. ie, Fireflys, M4/M4A3, M4A1/Sherman II, Sherman III/V. I'll try to post some preview pics of those too shortly. ------------------ "Live by the sword, live a good LOOONG life!"--Minsc, BGII "Boo points, I punch."--Minsc, BGII "Buttkicking for goodness!"--Minsc, BGII "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot.
  6. Well Tiger came out with his Weathered Shermans a WHILE back. Then Marco started his Hi-Res work with the M4A3 Shermans. He used some common textures from Tiger's mod, so therefore he didn't make new textures of his own for those. The latest mismatch is for the Stuarts. Since the US Stuart and the UK Stuart were sort of the same, but not totally they shared some of the same textures, but not all. So you had to run either the US batch file or the UK batch file and then only use the respective unit. Otherwise, you'll end up with mismatched US textures and British textures on the same unit. I'd write more, but I have to go. I'll post later upon my return. ------------------ "Live by the sword, live a good LOOONG life!"--Minsc, BGII "Boo points, I punch."--Minsc, BGII "Buttkicking for goodness!"--Minsc, BGII "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot.
  7. OK, The Mad Dog Mod Pack 2 has a nice Hi-Res JgTiger. Tiger did a Marder III and Wespe Mod. Also available on CMHQ. Fernando did nice Hi-Res versions of both German Halftrack types. Again both are available on CMHQ. Tiger also did the Axis HTs too. Tiger did a Jumbo, but Marco is working on the Hi-Res Jumbos now.
  8. Here's the UK Sherman II: Here's the M4A1(75): Here's the M4A1(76): Here's the Jumbo(75): Here's the Jumbo(76):
  9. Marco Bergman is hard at work finishing off the Sherman line. In his newest pack he will have the Sherman II/M4A1 tanks, an all new 76mm turret, Sherman Jumbos, and the HVSS Shermans. I, along with Old Dog, & Gordon Molek are Marco's test hampsters. We get his "dirty work" to check over. It's a good thing too, because there was a bit of a problem with the beta pack of his Sherman II stuff he sent us. Right now he's just sending us the base textures. He's gonna add the saddlebags and other stuff later. The new 76 turret looks great guys. The top is really detailed now. Also the mantlets are improved a great deal. What's funny is that Marco was gonna hold off on the Jumbo, but when he discovered that it shared the 76 turret top, he decided that he'd better do it like, RIGHT NOW. I'll see if I can't get Old Dog to post some pics on this thread. Or I'll try on that free service. (Forgot what it was called.) ------------------ "Live by the sword, live a good LOOONG life!"--Minsc, BGII "Boo points, I punch."--Minsc, BGII "Buttkicking for goodness!"--Minsc, BGII "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot.
  10. Thanks Cavguy for the description and the pics. But man, those things wouldn't last long against a strongly committed AT effort. If I were the US Army, I wouldn't throw away the Abrams tanks on a bet now. Granted I understand the weight and bridge issues, but just having some M1A2s on the scene is a pretty good deterent in itself, is it not?
  11. Cavguy, For the some of us who aren't up to snuff on Army acronyms, can you please explain some of the acronyms you used in your posts. Thanks. Whoops, you already did. But could you ellaborate a little more on to what this LAV system is. [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 01-25-2001).]
  12. Well, I'm an American. And by Patton's own words, "All Americans love a fight." "Americans can't stand to lose, and will not ever lose a War!" Well, OK, maybe not that last thing. But I know that even as bad as War is, you can't take away the technological advances that occur during War. For example, the US went from the (Pearl Harbor) class battleships to Iowa Class battleships in just 3 years. And then the Iowa Class Battleships lasted for the next 45 years before being decommissioned after The Gulf War. And also War is a great way to decrease the unemployment rate. Some say that the US was itching to get into the War because they figured it would create a large amount of jobs, both civilian and military to help us pull out of the Depression. And again, whether you like it or not, War is considered to be one of the primary population control devices. Hell, the way the population is expanding exponentially these days, it probably wouldn't hurt us to have another war sometime.
  13. I assume you mean painting the flags transparent pink. But why do this? You can just turn them off by hitting Shift-F. I'm not sure what you mean by this. What LOS marker colors?
  14. CMHQ also has a nice Wind Blown Flag mod in its 3rd Party Mod Section. ------------------ "Live by the sword, live a good LOOONG life!"--Minsc, BGII "Boo points, I punch."--Minsc, BGII "Buttkicking for goodness!"--Minsc, BGII "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot.
  15. Let's also add that CM3 will cover the Meditteranean theater, ie/ North Africa, Italy, and Greece/Crete CM4 will be the Early War covering Germany's Blitzkrieg from 1939 thru 1940. ------------------ "Live by the sword, live a good LOOONG life!"--Minsc, BGII "Boo points, I punch."--Minsc, BGII "Buttkicking for goodness!"--Minsc, BGII "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot.
  16. Thanks, but that's old news. If you would do a search, you'd find that WWII-Online has been discussed many times with varying levels of enthusiasm. There's question as to if the massive on-line multi-player system would work for this genre. But it will be interesting to see if Cornered Rat Software can pull it off. ------------------ "Live by the sword, live a good LOOONG life!"--Minsc, BGII "Boo points, I punch."--Minsc, BGII "Buttkicking for goodness!"--Minsc, BGII "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot.
  17. The future patch you speak of will be none other than a whole new game called CM3: The Med. which will include North Africa, Italy, and Greece/Crete. And for further "patches" as you call'em CM2 will be the Eastern Front, 1941-1945. So hang in there guy, BTS is going to cover all of the European Theater regions and time periods. BTW, CM4 is going to be the Early War, (Poland, Low Countries, France) [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 01-24-2001).]
  18. Well thank you, but I didn't make the movie, nor was I in it, but I did take the character name from it. Well when I was new to CM, CM was in its Beta Demo stages, therefore I was around when we (including BTS) thoroughly discussed the Command options and we accepted BTS's final command list and their functions. Granted the function of some commands have changed slightly through patches, namely the Hunt command for Tanks and the Sneak command for Infantry. The reasons for not implementing the latest requested commands have been answered before by BTS. So in this case, I'll say for the very first time, "DO A SEARCH!"
  19. Well said, Guy. Except for the part about "asses" . Reread your post, rather hysterical typo in there.
  20. I think we need a "stick a thumb up your ass" command to keep your infantry from firing at units 600 meters away.
  21. I'm in Harrisburg too, but in a different State.
