  1. I'm real glad that i could let even one person who didnt' know about this game. The reason im so supportive of this game is because its the most exciting advancement in a "war" gaming situation i've seen in a long time. I feel like a lot of support is needed to spread the news and get a lot of players for thsi game. I' know many of you watch History Channel and watch WW2 documentaries and this game even though nothing like a real thing can give some of us a slight simulation of what it might have been like.
  2. Man im sure many of you have already heard of this its called World War 2 online. Now i like playing Combat Mission just as much as the next guy but im wondering what kind of new approaches and depth will wargaming in WW2online bring. I hope to see many of you there since many of you have excellent commanding abilities that new players to WW2online will need. Also i feel we should support these kind of new innovative "war" games. Please go check the site out. www.wwiionline.com
  3. Well im sick of you people attacking Bush. He's not an idiot. He has an MBA from Harvard or Yale if im not mistaken. And he's run Texas real good for many years. So give it a rest with your propoganda. I'm not white or rich yet i still think he's the best choice. Also i'm excite about this TCP/IP release. keep up the good work guys.
  4. I don't know if you remember but a couple of weeks back i posted saying I must be a newbie cause i could be the first scenario in the demo called Close Encounter. Well many of you gave me suggestions. And i have to say they helped immensly. I was able to beat that 40 turn mission in 11 turns. And this time none of my tanks were knocked out. Although one got "stuck" on the way. I don't know how to get the tank out. Anyway i took your advice of not just sending the tanks in without infantry support. Now that i think of it that was so stupid of me to send em in without cover. Plus this time i attacked the Panzerschrek guys first so that they couldn't take out my armor. I gotta tell ya those tanks do so much damage to the other guys. man it was fun to see the other sides' morale down and broken. Much better than having my troops in that condition.
  5. Hey Frenchy youre right PC GAMER magazine said this is an awesome game. I said some people writing in were critizing it. I personally like the graphics cause to me it brings much more depth i can see things from so many angles and it feels more real to me. Once again please everyone calm down this was not meant to cause a flamefest. In fact go ahead and remove this message if you feel its that offensive. God i didn't think people would think i was trying to start a fight. I like the CM "commnity" cause i found people here so helpful and respectful. And i have said that other "communities" could take a lesson from you guys. So don't think i want to start fights i like things peaceful just like it is althought i still like to play wargames even though war is not peaceful(obviously). So please those i offended im sorry and please calm down.
  6. Sorry guys didn't want to start a flame fest here. I am a newbie and wanted just to see your take. For those of you who are accusing me of trying to start a flame fest that was not my intention. I misquoted here. They were talking about click fest and so forth like Close combat(PCGAMER August 2000 page 135.) which I mistook for Combat Mission sorry. But i know that people were complaining about the graphics in PC Gamer which issue i do not recall but in 2000 i know it is. Anyway he was complaining that TOAW was eye candy. and CM has defintely better graphics so that's what i meant. Anyway then again trotter beat that guys argument down explaining that TOAW does not have something that people would characterize as eye candy Whatever i just wanted to ask what you thought. And certainly this kind of angry responses that im trying to cause a flame fest is bad so i'm sorry i won't do it again. That was certainly not my goal you may choose not to believe me. 7. I remember some PCgamer "grognards" complaining CM is just eye candy. I wanted to know what your take on this comment is? From reading many of the posts hear im of the impression that this is in fact a very good wargame experience and that the 3d element helps to add another dimension to it. Anyway i wantd to know if the rest of the wargaming community holds a grudge against CM because supposedly better graphics = "selling out" or less of a good wargame.
  8. Hey thank you all. im really touched by your helpfulness. I am glad that the wargaming community is so helpful and polite. I play Counterstrike and Firearms(which are FPS games) anyway lets just say those communities could use a lesson in respect and helpfulness from you guys. I appreicate you giving me these tips. I'll check thos websites out. I don't own the game yet i was playing the demo. Once i can get a little better i'll be buying this game.
  9. I just recently got into wargaming after reading a colum written by "general" trotter of PC Gamer. He made the wargame Steel Panther WAW seem so interesting when he plotted out a scenario he played. That's the first time ever (been playing computer games for 6-7 years now) that i even was interested or learned of this genre. Anyway i never played any other wargames(board or computer) the first mission in CM seems so freaking hard to me. I can't even beat it. Does any of you "grognards" have even a slight problem with that first scenario. The reason is i got so discouraged by that experience and i wanted to know if im really bad to have a hard time on that scenario. Just give it to me straight, you dont have to sugar coat it guys.
