Well I am single, how can you tell? Basically the lawn hasn't been mown in about 4 months. My excuse for this is I claim to be enviromentally friendly. ------------------ IN VINO VERITAS
  2. Now to really stir things up. What about the US ignoring Japanese calls for an armistice so they could drop the 2 nukes as a warning to the Soviets.
  3. Looks like the morning after a big pissup. So when do we get to download that scenario? ------------------ IN VINO VERITAS

  8. Steve, the best way to find out how the game plays is to download the demo. ------------------ IN VINO VERITAS
  9. I think what Juardis is trying to say is that the lowest Green? experience level is meant for units that have no combat experience. So after being in 2 or 3 battles in an operation it should go up an experience level to conscript? for the remaining battles in the op. This representing that the unit has now experienced combat and learnt a few tricks of the trade. ------------------ IN VINO VERITAS
  10. What! the game has made it to Hong Kong!!!!! Would the next copy to Hong Kong please make a little detour to the south. Left4dead didn't I see you on the TV, looked like you were practicing brewing up tanks but you only had a little old police car to do it with.
  11. was just looking at Steves double post one had a time of 2.07 am and the other was 2.47 am. ------------------ IN VINO VERITAS
  12. Steve please tell me you are talking about CM1to4 version 2 and not CM2. I can't wait that long for my t34's. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh ------------------ IN VINO VERITAS
  13. I must say Andreas I am most impressed all that within 40 minutes of my original post. My mention of poor old Serbia was actually referring to the Austro-Hungarian overreaction to the assasination, which then led to the domino effect of hey if you pick on him i'll pick on you. ------------------ IN VINO VERITAS
  14. Oh bugger this, none of you are asking the right bloody questions! The right questions are. 1. Do the boats come supplied with fishing rods and tackle? 2. Is there enough ice in the boat to keep two slabs of beer cold for about 4 hours? 3. And probably most important is there a pub near the river/sea? (just incase we can't be bothered putting the boat in the water) ------------------ IN VINO VERITAS
  15. Hey you didn't mention the Frei Korps (Sp?), and not once did I here poor old Serbia mentioned. I am dissappointed Andreas. Now to MrPeng. . . . . . . . . . . . . Oh but you do. ------------------ IN VINO VERITAS
  16. Hey Maddmatt I reckon you should hold of the release for at least 2 weeks, just to make sure everyone has tried out the original game first and can thus fully appreciate the great work of art you have brought to us.
  17. And don't forget 180 pages of lovely manual. you should be able to pick up a few gameplay hints from that.
  18. Lets keep this up near the top so everyone gets the chance to read it.
  19. Hey Bullethead I actually have a KE-GO Type 96 "knee" Wok in the kitchen. My Grandfather, who served in the RAN, brought it home with him after the war. It has a bit of a story to it, I will try to get it out in at least a semi-coherent fashion. At the time my Grandfather aquired the T96 Wok he was serving in submarines. His submarine had come across a Jap troop ship that was dead in the water. Rather than waste a torpedo the sub surfaced to sink the ship with its deck gun (my grandfather being one of the sailors that serviced the deck gun). Well while they were firing on the troopship my Grandfather witnessed the actions of one Japanese soldier who calmly tied a white rag around his head, picked up his Type96 Wok filled with what appeared to be rice of the Class E variety. The Jap soldier then charged along the deck of the ship and jumped over the side hurling the Wok towards the sub. The Sub of course was well out of range of such a weapon, even when used in such an unorthodox manner (i.e. throwing). However one unexpected thing occurred, totally against all commonly held opinion of this weapon, the Wok floated and actually drifted to the submarine where my Grandfather lent over the side and picked it up. So thats how a KE-GO Type 96 "knee" Wok ended up in my kitchen. Oh by the way the Jap soldier drowned seems he couldn't swim. ------------------ IN VINO VERITAS
  20. Hell I'm really looking forward to playing with Mk 3 and 4's. ------------------ IN VINO VERITAS
  21. Decided to preorder when I first saw the Beta demo back in Oct/Nov '99. Actually submitted the preorder on the 10th May 2000 after reading a post mentioning the IMMINENT release of the Gold demo. Yes the very same post that sparked the Gold demo riots I will never forget the level to which formerly upright citizens debased themselves, those terrible hours will stay with me till the day I die. ------------------ IN VINO VERITAS [This message has been edited by Speedy (edited 06-14-2000).]
  22. Just checked my credit card account and have a mail order authorization for A$94.37. Only one thing that can be I preordered on the 10/5 this year when the infamous posting of the imminent release of the Gold demo message popped up. ------------------ IN VINO VERITAS
  23. Great idea Dar, I have actually seen footage of an operation similar to what you are describing. It was a crossing of the river Meuse in 1940, first of the German assault troops went across under fire in dingies(sp?) , then the film showed the combat engineers building a replacement bridge under fire while an armoured column waited in the background. It was amazing stuff to watch and I agree it would be great for a CM operation. ------------------ IN VINO VERITAS
