  2. Just wondering if the British Tetrarch light tank is included in CM? I do know the British deployed this tank by glider with the 6th Airbornes landings on d-day. P.S.- before everyone starts telling me to do a search, well i couldn't be bothered and anyway i wanted my 30th post
  3. please oh please stop asking for things, because you will not get them
  4. First heard about computer squad leader a couple of years ago in Computer Games Strategy Plus mag. Then nothing after that until I came across a post at Delphi flight forum, about 3 months ago, telling everyone to check out www.battlefront.com. This sounded interesting as I remember enjoying ssg battlefront system years ago on c64. Needless to say I haven't looked back since. [This message has been edited by Speedy (edited 01-21-2000).]
  5. Great thread. As to what I know of my family. My paternal grandfather was a mechanic in the RAAF stationed at Darwin. Thats all I know of him as he died before I was born. My maternal grandfather served in the RAN in the pacific both on surface ships and subs. He only talks about the war when he is drunk (being an ex-sailor he knows how to go on a bender, 1 to 2 weeks straight on the piss ). What he has told me includes his hating subs ( understandable as he is 6ft 3in tall and was a farmer before joining up). Also has stories of sewing up mates with lead so they would sink when buried at sea, as well as watching mates being eaten by sharks. The only thing he has to say about the Japanese is that he hated Kamikazes ( he was wounded shrapnel in the knee, from what I have heard this was from a kamikaze attack and that a couple of his mates were killed in it). My maternal grandmother was a radio operator in the WAAAFs stationed at Townsville. The only other relation that I have info on is my Uncle Jimmy (Great-Uncle) he served in the 9th Div 2AIF, one of the 'Rats of Tobruk'. Sorry had another great uncle (can't remember his name, was my grandfathers older brother). He was in the 6th Div 2AIF however he was killed in a car accident while on embarkation leave in May? 1940.
  6. Xavier :- But when you do a scenario on the German invasion of New Zealand you have to put lots and lots of sheep in and of course their loving farmers
  7. tss :- we are waiting for CM2 to mention the Sturmovik Major Tom :- the other one you are thinking of I believe is the Tempest.
  8. Just a thought for all you people who want a release date for CM. Just imagine for a minute if Charles' parents and Steves' parents had never met, then there would not be a CM to wait for ..........arghhhh the horror Then again if they had not met we would never have heard of CM and would not be tortured so awaiting its release. Maybe that would have been for the better [This message has been edited by Speedy (edited 01-20-2000).] [This message has been edited by Speedy (edited 01-20-2000).]

  17. Knaust thanks for the salute, now prepare to die P.S. have to wait another year for new century and millenium to start
  18. Movies. Land, Battleground- very good movie. Stalingrad- some of you didn't like it but I loved (it was 1992 by the way). Cross of Iron- of course. Bridge too Far- I liked this one to. A Midnight Clear- This movie was quite good, although it is probably hard to find. As for SPR first 30 mins great, some of the other combat scenes quite good. As for the final bit, absolute bull**** 4 AFV's + company of Inf. vs 12 infantry, that makes a dozen regret to inform you telegrams in a couple of minutes. Non WW2, All Quiet on the Western Front- Must see. Gettysburg- not bad. An Ungentenmanly Act- saw it on ABC(Australian Broadcasting Commission) quite good. Gallipoli- little misleading at times but good. Anzacs- another Australian movie(actually 5 part TV series) about WW1. Follows a group of infantrymen through the course of the war. Loved this when I first saw it on tv years ago, although it can be a bit biased at times. Released on video in Australia last Anzac day. The Odd Angry Shot- great film. Waterloo- love the combat scenes. Air, 12 O'clock High- very good movie. Tora Tora Tora- include this here as most (all?) of the action happens in aircraft. Battle of Britain- quite good. Their Finest Hour?- not sure about name, but recent 2 part TV series based on an RAF squadron (Hornet squadron) from outbreak of war through to the Battle of Britain, in my opinion probably better than 'The Battle of Britain'. non WW2, The Blue Max- good film Aces High- okay Sea, Sink the Bismark!- good film. Das Boot- Das Boot- Das Boot- Das Boot- Great!! Thats my 2 cents worth. Speedy P.S.- Did I mention Das Boot?
  19. W583, That seems like a smart thing to do, if I came across a tiger that wanted to kill me I would run like hell to. P.S.- the TC's wife probably dumped him for a rich yank (g).
